Nah, I'm usually in the boat he's in. I drive older cars also (current DD is an 04 Forester w/ 288k miles). Anytime the car has a leak or something needs replacing, it's getting upgraded. It makes sense. Also got a 2010 mustang that needs front pads... So I'm upgrading to 6 piston brembos lmao. Broke forever
I had one of these cars for 6 years and i loved every minute of it... we had a big pulsar owners in the uk... the biggest headache is the gearbox but the smile this car gives you is unreal. So glad someone on youtube decided to buy one. Loving the video we still have alot of people breaking them in the uk.
I love the comment about finding a spotty forum post with a few comments and it has that little bit of knowledge you needed. Talk about satisfying when that works out.
I know your shop isn’t completely done. But I have to say I love your set up. You are a very clean person and I love it. But I have to say is where is Sandy. Lol
Absolutely love the forum stuff like that. I had an old motorcycle they didn't make a carb kit for and the min order on the o-ring site was 10+ so I sold the extras as a kit on the forums. It was wild how many ppl you can really help out with simple stuff like that
Definitely love the old forums just found one today from back in 2005 that answered all of my questions about my engine's interchangibility with some others
Here's a tip for your workbench Taylor. Cut a piece of masonite (a 4 X 8 sheet of masonite is really inexpensive) to the size of the top surface of your workbench and screw it down using countersunk screws. That way when your surface becomes badly stained by whatever, you just unscrew it, flip it over or simply replace it. Keeps your wood or MDF bench top free from absorbing oils and other liquids which will eventually damage it. Just a thought as that's what I do.
True that. I don't wanna sound corny, but he has tought me to be more patient. I used to get pretty mad when stuff went wrong when working on cars (which happens all the time).
Yep agreed. I only watch guys channels on RUclips that do their own wrenching. No desire to watch some rich boy that just pays shops and other people to do work on his own builds.
@@dgxdetailingservicesltd8461 yea I know right, taylor works for the things he wants then works on the things he gets haha, I wish more ppl would sub to him he should be at a million atleast
Allow me to save you some time and money. When drilling a larger hole in metal, it's pretty easy to tear up a bit (or burn one up). What I use: to start the hole, use Harbor Freight double ended 1/8" bits. Cheap, almost impossible to break (due to short length), and will drill through damned near anything (at least once). to open the hole up- Harbor freight (or other inexpensive) step bit. finish with appropriate size.
🙋♂️Hey Taylor...Pro Tip: when your cutting down a threaded bolt....Leave a nut on it up at the top then after you make your cut....unscrew the nut down to chase threads for ya. Your Welcome💪
I feel like Taylor is the only person who does collaborations with people WITHOUT a RUclips channel. Ben today, neighbor yesterday, tire guy with the lift.
Man, you and Ben are like Mighty Car Mods used to be, before they went big production and all. I know BOV noises are childish, but they are so fun. My Greddy Type S sounds SO awesome on my DSM at 25+ psi with a MAP sensor. Old school but cool.
I worked for HKS USA back in the day (when it was in LA and still good) lol. Most of us sales/tech guys that were your age when we worked there preferred the round insert (I believe it's purple now) to the whistley tri-fin one that comes in the SSQV out of the box. The round one is more rushing air sound and less high pitch, it's a cool accessory to have for about $20. Give it a try!
Underrated comment from your video: We need to bring the forums back, and not the Facebook forums. Man, so true. I still use old forums and the interface is so much better...loathe Facebook so much for killing the forums...well and a lot of other things too.
Yeah it was filling up before because it had no baffling on the crank case vent line. Shoved some steel wool on there. Fixed it. But the filter was soaked so anytime it saw pressure it would mist and you could smell it on the bay.
The sututu noise is from running no BOV and and aluminum intake pipe. If you want the same noise the pulsar has just cap off the BOV port completely and run no BOV.
thank you taylor ray i love this car its my favriout car in the world i use to have one but had to sell it coz i have lung cancer now and cant driv anymore so if u can please try to do some more upgrates coz it would be a dream come true to see someone do one of these cars up i havent seen meny done at all day a good 2021 pal
I am glad to know that my Nissan Versa has the same bolt pattern as an s13!!! Make it a bit cooler for me! My dad 2004 civic also has the same bolt pattern as your rpf 1! Yeah baby!
MK3 VW's use a stub axle for the rear rotor and bearing, it's 1 whole assembly. They're also a bolt that hold the wheel on, not a nut like Taylor's pulsar
@@Ramcat_Vlogs Yeah the front is a regular rotor but I imagine he would need to bore out the centerbore of the rotor, which in my opinion is more work than the way he did it. I did think of that though when he was talking about 4x100 stuff. Also the standard 2.0L MK3 rotors are only 10.2", he would have to source G60 Corrado rotors for larger ones.
Damn the GTiR sounds wicked!!!! I had heard about the rear brake upgrade but I was a little apprehensive to do it to my B13. I did an SE-R upgrade on my rears though.
Love the mix of parts you used. Used the same maxima brackets on my spec v. Only to find out that all those parts are basically what makes the "brembo" package on the 2004-2006 spec v rear.
Check the inserts on the HKS SSQV there are two different inserts for sound. The Pulsar probably has the purple circle insert installed for the low frequency flutter. The one of the Subaru looks like it has the stock tri fin on the outlet so it will make a higher frequency squeak.
GTiR is so much fun for a little car, love the power delivery. Had to get out of them after killing too many gearboxes and bottom ends. King of the hot hatch? And yes the stock brakes are terrible. did you know they used the same brakes that came on the GTi non turbo?! crazy catch can, the stock car had one that drained back into the sump, just hookup to those ports again
Not sure how much it'll help, but a friend of mine built up a Nissan NX2k with a Pulsar GTiR engine swap back in the mid-late 00s, spent many years getting it dialed and on the road. He was one of the first people in the states with that particular swap, though he didn't have the ambition or money to also swap it to awd. The NX shares lots of common parts with the b13 Sentra, Pulsar, etc. and he wound up using Porsche calipers from one of the 80s FR chassis. Not sure if they were front, rear, or both. I could ask next time I catch up. The thing is a fwd monster. I think the coolest thing about the car is that his buddy bought it brand new back in 93, sold it to my friend's sister after a few years, then he bought it off her in the early 00s. I think it's about to get a Nistune this winter.
It’s nice to see that you and Ben have remained friends after the Divorce. 😁
