Back then people would sit down and actually read and memorize every word on the album cover and in the liner notes while playing the music. That's how we knew who wrote the songs, produced the songs, played or song on the songs. We don't do that now. Now, we stream a song while we are doing other things and we never read the details anymore. When Giorgio Moroder became famous, he literally ushered in and popularized a musical sound that was new to do many people. He was everywhere. His sound became so ubiquitous we just got used to it being around and forget who popularized it. The most recent artist to do something a little bit similar is T-Pain with Auto-Tune.
