Best year of the evercade by far. My top 5 has to be without a doubt. 1- Duke Nukem collection 1 2- Full Void 3- Piko Arcade 1 4- Goodboy Galaxy / Witch n Wiz 5- Indie heroes collection 2
There were so many great games on so many platforms in 2023 I really feel I neglected my Evercade Systems so for 2024 I'm definitely going to get caught up and play more Evercade 😊
Both Duke Nukem port and Full Void are true passion projects. I wish there were more of such Indie passion projects released on Evercade. I am still undecided about Goodboy Galaxy, but the stellar reviews may convince me to try it as well. My personal wishlist for 2024 would include the AVGN games or some kind of "Car and Driving Collection". While there were some racing games released, a dedicated collection of this genre accross platforms would be great.
My most played carts of 2023, in no particular order: Duke Nukem Collection 1 (33), Demons of Asteborg + Astebros (36) and Toaplan Arcade 2 (09). By the virtues of Duke Nukem 1 Remastered, Astebros and Hellfire + Rally Bike. I cannot name the other two in top 5 yet, probably not until well into 2024.
Strange people don't like Piko Arcade collection 1, it has some very interesting games we've never played before which makes it a win for me! Some good choices Crazy, Toaplan Arcade 2 would be in my top 5 but that mskes it hard to choice which of your 5 I would remove to fit it in lol.
Too bad, I decided on Home Computer Heroes and Asterburg/Astrobros cart with Duke 1 being sold out now. I decided against Full Void seeing it is only 3-4 hours with little replay value. I'll get that on steam for less $. Hopefully I like my choices! I also got GB Galaxy.
But the second Duke Nukem cart isn't playable properly on the original Evercade because it requires R2 and L2 buttons which the console doesn't have! The "minimum level of gaming" should be games which work properly!
My top 5 new carts in 2023 were in no order Indie Heroes 2, Toaplan 2, Asteborgs, Goodboy, and either Duke 1 or Delphine. I enjoyed the point and click games way too much despite the really rough timed sequences.
For my taste Piko 1 is a not so exciting cart generally talking: some great games, some not so exciting clones (!) of other games and two terrible, TERRIBLE fighting games (Master's Fury is a shameful rip-off of sprites on the base of Art of Fighting 2). I'll exchange its position with Demons of Asteborg/Astebros double cartridge, which was an awaited series on Evercade. I also liked Home Computer Heroes more than I expected: the remakes of Battle City and River Raid are brilliant, The Sword of Ianna and Citadel Remonstered alone worth the price of the cartridge, but the two 8-Bit Guy games are...not so great. Goodboy Galaxy/Witch n' Wiz plus the first Duke NUkem have been the true surprises of the year.
I was very tempted to put in Home Computer Heroes as Citadel and Sword of Ianna are both excellent but I felt overall a tough cart to get through. The 8 bit guys games need a ton of effort to get going. It nearly killed me.. lol but decent games once you understand them. Piko 1 didn't seem that popular despite being well reviewed. That one surprises me. Regardless of tastes.. there's plenty to keep us busy through the holiday period..

1- Duke Nukem collection 1
2- Full Void
3- Piko Arcade 1
4- Goodboy Galaxy / Witch n Wiz
5- Indie heroes collection 2
Excellent list. The only change I'd make for me personally is putting goodboy at #2 and full void at #3. What a great year
Great video as always I think you’ve sold me on Duke!
Lol yeah! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I'm in total agreement on the top three. All stunning carts, maybe Evercade's best work so far.
My top 5: Astebros, Full Void, Toaplan 2, Team17, Indie Heroes2. (Not got the Dukes yet)

We certainly need more driving games. Would be great to get Colin Macrae or the Toca series from Codemasters but probably unlikely.

Would like to see a wonder boy game one day
I’m still waiting for the Duke Nukem collection 1 from Amazon. Hoping to receive it before Christmas. Look forward to playing it.

I boufht the evercade EXP because of Duke Nukem Collection. Love it

So many great carts, so little time...
Honestly a great year for Evercade!😅
Lol exactly. It's been a decent year for sure.

Sounds awesome.. fingers crossed.
@@CZpersi lol I enjoyed Ugh on C64.. would never forget that game name..
The Duke Nukem cartridges should be the minimum level of gaming evercade should be releasing both are brilliant
Oh yeah.. if only.

Haven't got dukes, sunsoft or GBG yet, but my list would be
Asteborg
Home computer heroes
Team 17
Piko Arcade
Delphine
