I always wanted to wear girl clothes and they didn't let me, then my friend who is a girl is a tomboy and likes rap music. She's pretty cool, but when trying to be femenine they see it weak or gay. (But I'm bi) And feminazis exist too. Both gender are equal and both have privileges and disadvantages equally.

I'm a woman in her fifties. I was sadly ignorant about transgender so I decided to watch some youtube videos to educate myself. From what I've seen I find you all articulate, Intelligent, funny, caring and courageous people. And very brave to open yourselves up to public scrutiny in order to help other young people who may be going through what you went through. I'm learning so much from you and only wish that other older people would take the time to educate themselves on these issues. when i was younger and didn't know any better than what my parents taught me, i too made hateful comments about lgbtq+ people. the difference between me and these people is that i grew out of that, formed my own opinions, and did actual research to make sure i was well-informed and realized there wasn't anything wrong with being lgbtq+. the similarity between me and these people is that i'm gay.

As ftm on hrt I find it HILARIOUS when transphobes say “well chemically you will never be truly male.” Because, lets say for my recent blood related scare due to another health condition I have that almost required a blood transfusion. @@NopurposeRai I take testosterone every two weeks through injections. So on a chemical level it overrides the estrogen. So I go through male puberty. I which once that's done I'll be grown into my male features. Frequently I have to get my blood tested to make sure I'm at the right level. As it's kinda a Goldy locks thing. And make sure that my T levels are at prime :3

If someone for whatever reason took my blood and need a gender. It comes out as male. As I'm a trans man, and my T levels are at the stable level it should be

Understanding and knowing people personally from different walks of life you kinda rethink what you thought you knew. Even being trans myself I was in denial for years and had a little internalized transphobia. I feel angry at myself that I didn't start transitioning earlier. Meeting many trans women over the years was a really positive experience for me. I think it helped open my eyes, I also had a really supportive wife who knew I has some level of dysphoria. I don't know if I would have had the courage to go through with it without her.
