Oh babe. I just had a thought. With your summer coming and your filming room at the top of the house with all those lights and monitors, it's going to get *super* hot in the warmer weather. Maybe invest in a good fan or two or a small AC unit to help keep it cool when your working. You can get small AC units that the tube goes out the windows and you close the windows around it to help the unit function and draw air from outside and covert it into cool air. Hard to explain.

I don't know about the UK but here in Canada and the US there are groups on Facebook of free/trade things that folks want to get rid of but don't need money for etc, might be worth checking for vintagey furnishing treasures for free or super cheap ♥
You and I moved in the same day and I feel the same way. I love where I’ve moved totally different city. I’m in a small flat living above my grandfather, but it’s great. Much better than the middle of no where.

Congratulations! The house is a beautiful space, it looks very comfortable. I've heard good things about Brighton, even here in the USA, from friends in Britain. I totally get the "it's not cheaper, but the quality of life is far better," way of thinking, I made a similar decision more than a few years ago and still do not miss my old home.
That kitchen window seat and living room corner nook is so dreamy, the dining table fits perfectly! Also LOVE LOVE the Funko pop wall on the stairwell! IT's AMAZING!!! This is the most organised maximalist space I've ever seen. ❤ So excited for this new adventure xoxo

You can paint over the kitchen tiles. You have to use a primer and then a special paint. I saw this on different DIY channels. You should give it a try because taking them out is an expensive mess. 😂

Housing prices in London were enough for me to not miss London.😂 Like you, I wouldn't want to just move anywhere, but London rent was depressing in itself... It constantly felt like such a waste of money.🤐 I'm now in a village near Cambridge and have got the best of both worlds imo: countryside, Cambridge a stone's throw away, an actual house with a garden for a lot less money than I paid for a room in London, but still close enough to London to be able to easily visit for the day.
Maximalism is the best! Just take your time Roly, I moved house just before you did and it feels overwhelming at times with all the things that need done or bought, but you're totally right to not rush to get things too quickly. Essentials first! Your house looks lovely

I am (and always have been) very poor but found little ways to make where I would reside feel a little "mine" - even when I could only eat on free sample day at the grocery store. If you'd like some tips/ideas for things you can do on a -shoestring- dental floss thin budget or other constraints I'd be happy to give some ideas. Regardless of where you have to lay your head, everyone should be able to have some way to make it feel "home-like" even if you're couch surfing or just there for a night. It's not a 'luxury' - it's a human need and does wonders for mental health. Even if it's relatively small at first. I really don't mind helping out.

I’m finishing uni, and am moving out at the beginning of June. I’m absolutely dreading moving back in with my parents. There was a domestic violence incident involving my mum on Boxing Day, and though she has apologised, I don’t feel good about it. There also has sexual harassment by neighbours, so overall worried it’s going to be really shit and triggering. Hope to one day to be proud of having my own house and living my best life there
