- Today we embark on a trail system in an area in Colorado that you might not be familiar with. We take a route that bandits took when they stole horses and cattle. We also experienced some areas where many Native Americans had ventured in history. But before we could finish out the day we had a very interesting trail recovery and repair. This one is worth it to the end.

We did this trip last year, the history speaker was incredible! It was a LOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGG day the night after a concert in silverton. Drove in that morning and camped above paradox just off the Rimrocker.

Love your scenery videos, especially since so far they've been in Colorado. If I remember my college Colorado geography class, an unusual thing about where the canyon and the Dolores River meet, the river runs across the mouth of the canyon instead of down it.

From a guy who's used the log under an axle trick for some distance: Use a green log if available...much less likely to crack and force you to find another. Green wood also less likely to burn with the friction going down a gravel road.

You know, I'm really getting tired of the forestry service and our government. Those lands are not third lands. Those lands are our lands. Their job is to preserve the land not to keep us out. We are supposed to be able to access that land because we own that land as Americans. Our government needs to get that in their head. It's not doors, it's ours.
You are constantly hitting up the type ot trails I would like to run if I ever get in the position to do so. I really enjoy ALL your video's and it is really cool to see you and the wife out enjoying yourselves and sharing the experience.

I'd becareful...probably a lot of uranium dirt too. Had family working for those mines. Got that blk lung disease. Even those little white houses and abandoned slabs were condemned, uranium worker homes back in the day.
Hey Colt I love everthing about your channel. I have a 2015 Ram 1500 that i bought its a great rig that has been built for the trail (not a rock crawler) but the motor is pretty much stock with a few upgrades. The guy that had it b4 me put a flowmaster super 40 on it . Sounds ok but i get a drone alot. Do you think a glasspack would be better? If not what would you put on it?
Hi guys . We have really enjoyed your videos and your Colorado trips. You mentioned your header bolts keep coming loose. If you haven't tried them, you can get split washers for headers. You might have to get longer bolts, though.
Love the channel! Back to corny jokes with death once had a near Chuck Norris experience and Chuck Norris had a bear rug on his bedroom floor. The bear was still alive just scared to move.
That "green limestone" , I believe is the Morrison Formation. It's the volcanic ash that ended the Jurassic. It's green because of Iron phosphate and is one of the formations that produce uranium. Them poor dinosaurs though.

I am guessing nobody thought much of strapping a log to the axle until they tried just dragging it first. Experience for the win. After a trip like that how did the air filter hold up?
people need to realize the supreme court ruling on chevron defference COULD put the kibosh on alot of these trail closures. all it takes is a challenge to thier "policies".

A couple of guys out exploring the desert and one of them stopped to take a leak. Bad luck came and he peed on a rattle snake he didn't see. The snake bit the source and the guy screamed out for his friend to come back. He told his friend that if the poison didn't get sucked out, he would die. His friend thought it over and said it looks like you are going to die.
Trail repairs can be fun. They bring the group together. Plus, kinda cool to figure out how to get the rig back on the road.
