I first became fascinated with the cliff dwellings as a school kid back in the early 60's. All we had back then was photos in text books and National Geographic. It seems so much more real and alive on video. Thanks for taking this old guy along on a vicarious trip of a lifetime.
Gonna have to put Skyler in the Roxor next time. I'm really enjoying your content. Super cool to see the whole family out trailing together. I really like the way the S10 exhaust sounds on video btw.
My knees were aching just from watching you guys hiking this trail. It does look very pretty out there though for sure. thanks for bringing us old folk into your adventures by filming them and posting on youtube.
Wow! You brought me back to my childhood. My dad used to to take us all around southern Utah and look at dwellings long before Utah was known. This is one of the coolest videos I have seen on RUclips. Thank you so much for bringing back memories of my dad!
It looks like you have been blessed with a wonderful and fun family. What more can you ask for other than reimbursement for food😂. Last year, my son and I had the pleasure to meet you in PA before your departure for UA (I was the guy that brought honey from my local hives). I want to thank you again for your kindness and grace when I’m sure you were quite busy. My son still very much appreciates the keychain you gave him off your keys to the S10 and signing his TJ grill(the grill I was going to use on my next build but is now on his wall).
Dude this is awesome, love seeing the whole family having fun, it's really encouraging and motivating! Planning a trip to the rubicon next summer with my fam, can't wait!
Glad to see the family out enjoying the great outdoors! Thanks for taking us all a long the journey! The rental jeep should get some love, and a tranny cooling system, gears, maybe adventure some lockers. Doing a driveway diy build series on it would be a great thing. Keep it as a daily drive, but able to be a weekend warrior!
colt, that feild trip was amazing,i did not know just how beautiful your part of the country is. a huge thank you for taking me along on this feild trip and a history lesson, i loved every second of . great work sir!!!😃😃❤❤❤
I knew about these though. I've been through these before with my dad when I was ten maybe twelve years old. Both times in a '72 f100 that was highly modified We slept in the bed, cooked out, and some of the best memories I have.
I had to wait for some extra time before watching, it was worth every minute. I love the variety of your content. Having the family time is great. Shannon driving and spotting was a pleasant surprise. When you first started the S10 I wasn't to sure. Out of all the trucks it has with stood the test of time and I smile everytime you use it. Nate sold his and i don't know how much anyone else's is getting used. Keep enjoying it and taking us along. Thanks for the reminder, it's been too long since I've been in that area.
We have been planning a trip across Utah for 4 years. This Video came out and we decided to change plans and visit the trail. So far my favorite part of the trip. No other rigs on the trail and the sights are stunning! Thank you!
The small adobes were like look out towers for enemies. The reason the doors were small, you bend over to get in as a enemy, there goes ur head or stabbed easily.
I really enjoyed the video. Thumbs up from here in Farmingtown NM. That was a nice trip and great views. The cliff dwelling rock huts and the rock sandstone city casino was amazing to see. Overall great family video and fun. Thank you for taking us all on your family explorations. 👍👍
I was there in late March with my wife and another couple. We ran this exact same trail to Hotel Rock and continued north from there, ending up back in Blanding from the west. Some of the views where spectacular and we ran across some very cool rock formations. I'm sure you guys saw them too. It was an awesome day! It's nice to relive it through this video. Thanks for sharing. 😁
Excellent! Loving the views, the information and that you give us the raw audio when wheeling instead of playing some generic tune over the sound of vehicles doing their thing! 👍
3:00 Not a window. Probably a hole to support a log for a roof. You should probably skate over to Mesa Verde or Hovenweep and look at the complete structures and how they were built. Blanding is about halfway between Moab and Monument Valley. It'a a decent basecamp if you're going to places like Hovenweep, Natural Bridges, Monument Valley, the bottom portion of Canyonlands, etc.
Awesome road trip thanks for bringing us along i hope i can start doing some exploring i have been fighting colds every since i got covid haven't felt good for a year now fighting shingles dang it i got for my 51 birthday gee wish i could return it its taking a toll financially and emotionally thanks for the smile you seem like a way cool guy
Holy cow 😮. I am seriously heading out tomorrow to go to Moab and rent a Jeep and I have no idea where to go and then… Colt posts a video about that exact thing 🤯 definitely hitting this trail
Love Blanding did Hotel Rock and Arch Canyon before we would spend month out there exploring . Dark Canyon is cool run , Bears Ears , BLM trail 1 runs back from Arch canyon all way back Blanding , Monticello, use be able go all way hook and Ladder but that years ago . Nice video !
Great tour guides you are ,thank you for showing things that i may never get to visit ,but now i can say ive seen them ,Utah certainly is fascinating and scenery out of this world ,thanks again and the Chev sounds just right, the Jeep ? exhaust leak ,gear ratios or something sounds as its to high geared , certainly could do with more controllable handling and aome more pony's,give it some confidence
From the little bit that I saw, I think that they were living there when the ground outside eroded away and they stayed for a while so needed something to keep the kids safe. Goog thing you're not afraid of heights Colt, you'd have a sore back from stooping all the time!!
My 83 GMC S15 has 489000 miles on it. Original 2.8 motor. The only things working on the dash is temp and battery. 4x4 only works with a clamp on the vacuum pump
Love those trails! I tried to climb to the jail house about 20 years ago and couldn't get there. I assume the entrance is from the top. I have also pulled two vans out of the sand trap before the entrance to Arch Canyon.
Awesome video, loving all the trail rides. So did you move to Farmington just so you'd have easier access (than the Black Hills) for getting to other places? You're always on the go!
Sooo, what do ya call the trails in the Dakotas, mountainous boulder crawling? I'm thinkin you have a less expensive idea on how to upgrade the e-bay jeep. Beautiful country. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Colt, Shannon and family for taking us along. 😊😊😊😊😊
Our pleasure!

As a geologist, it's great that you appreciate it too. Love the channel, and glad you broke off on your own.
Thank you!
I have owned four S-10s and Sonomas and yours has by far the best exhaust sound. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Man i love the 4corners .
So many cool trails , so much history, and beautiful views for ever
Thanks for the tour!
So cool to see the whole family out there having fun enjoying this beautiful trail
Thank you, Mr. Colt, for the ride-along and the beautiful scenery. I got to see places a mere mortal, such as myself, would never get to see.❤👍👍
Colt always searching the terrain for the perfect line, even though he can’t drive there. 😂🤣😂
Thank you Colt and everybody for the adventure , seeing some amazing scenery and learning some history from that area !
slim jim was quite funny bring him along any time
Gonna have to put Skyler in the Roxor next time. I'm really enjoying your content. Super cool to see the whole family out trailing together. I really like the way the S10 exhaust sounds on video btw.
Great vid, awesome to see the family out for the trip.
Cool journey today Colt! Thank You for the come along!🇺🇸🙏
That window that you pointed out is a vent hole. As the heat rises in the dwellins it would escape avoiding a hot box.
I was thinking that or for a wood joist for the roof, or second floor
Love these trail ride videos with the walking adventures and history mixed in!
So much cool stuff to see if you just get out and look for it.
Climbing on those rocks in sandals is wild to a tender foot like myself.
Love the family attitude!😂😂
loving all of your adventures Colt!! Congrats to Skyler too...
What a great trip! Great to see you Shanna!!
These scenic trail videos are definitely my favorite on your channel. Great video!
Awesome, thank you!
My knees were aching just from watching you guys hiking this trail. It does look very pretty out there though for sure. thanks for bringing us old folk into your adventures by filming them and posting on youtube.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a brilliant video this was. Content was very informative and interesting. Well done Colt. Keep them coming. 👍👏👏

That honey was great!
Thanks for the introduction to two sweet trails. Please keep them coming.
You bet!

What a view!!
I just passed you on the million dollar highway yesterday with your S10 on a trailer. It looks awesome in real life.
Hi Colt and Co. Thanks for taking us along and sharing your adventures. 😎🇬🇧
I had to wait for some extra time before watching, it was worth every minute. I love the variety of your content. Having the family time is great. Shannon driving and spotting was a pleasant surprise.

Thank yall for the fun trip. So rugged and beautiful. ❤
Awesome journey Colt to you and the family.
Thanks colt for allo of the beautiful scenery that show in your videos

Awesome content, beautiful scenery and good family memories for you all. Thanks Colt
Awesome trails, Thank you for the Tracks
Glad you like them!
Looks gorgeous! This is definitely on the list to do this summer.
So cool! Thanks for taking us along! I take my kids (B6, B3, G1) with me whenever I go wheeling. They love being in the bush.
We need more family videos!! Good times!!!
Really cool to see your explorations around the area. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing Colt, now I need to get out to Utah and see some of these sights for myself
Basically what Colt told Skyler, "It takes big bucks to play with trucks".
That is such a beautiful trial I want to go there thanx for sharing asome
Rick and Jewell are such great people!!! Can't wait to see everyone down in Farmington this year and take part of the twilight run!!
I think that is the quietest I have ever heard Rick! He is a good dude, though.
@@scottstone4948 he must have got camera shy hahaha!!!!
Love those trails and Happy to see you out having some fun with the family!! Thank you for sharing
Very cool trails, awesome scenery, your reference to Onyx has made me a believer, gotta have that app!
The small adobes were like look out towers for enemies. The reason the doors were small, you bend over to get in as a enemy, there goes ur head or stabbed easily.
Wow really cool trails Colt, thanks for taking us along bro.
You bet
Mother in law suite. Love the scenery.
Very cool area, will have to add to to my bucket list. Thanks for showing us a new place to adventure to.
Any time!
Thanks for doing different trails and activities along them,
What a wonderful country and sweet views of it. ❤🎉😊
51 creek crossings. Wonderful ride anytime of year.
The "jail house" was for keeping turkeys according to the historians.
That seems like an inconvenient place to access to haul them food and water it it’s definitely a safe place from predators.
I was wondering about Honeymoon suite. Certainly peaceful, lol! Great views & history. Thanx !
I really enjoyed the video. Thumbs up from here in Farmingtown NM. That was a nice trip and great views. The cliff dwelling rock huts and the rock sandstone city casino was amazing to see. Overall great family video and fun. Thank you for taking us all on your family explorations. 👍👍
Thanks Colt and Crew, very cool! I will have to run these soon.

Wow super great video Colt thanks so much for sharing God bless you and your family!!✌️🇺🇲
Same to you!
Oh my Mr Colt. Is should be the colt and son show. Your sons commentaries. Lmao.
Nice! Wish my family and I could live out that way but career, money, bla bla. You're a lucky guy Colt
Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks Colt for another great video.

I was going to do Hotel Rock this year but it was a drive from Moab. Adding it to next years list of trails.
very enjoyable thanks for sharing.
Keep on Keeping ON Mr. Colt, America ❤️ you and you just keeping doing what you ❤️….👊🇺🇸👊
Did you find any Diamond Billed Rock Peckers?😀
Possible burial ground on cliffs. This also done in Hawaii!
Love Blanding did Hotel Rock and Arch Canyon before we would spend month out there exploring .

Why did the chicken cross the road? To show the raccoons and deer how it is done. Thanks Colt for the great video. Keep them coming.
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Thanks, Colt.
Colt, i am glad that you built that "Eaasssssy10"
Beautiful trail.love that S 10
Thank you Colt for taking me up to the ruins as I'm not sure that at my age of 69 would be able to get up there !
That's how the barracks trail is in Mt Carmel . It crosses the river 20 or 30 times 1/2 hour from Kanab UT.
Heck yeah.. thanks for sharing
Awesome video Awesome trail!!
great as always great content very entertaining
Much appreciated

Missed opportunity to say, hard rock hotel. LOL Great episode, Colt. Thanks for sharing!
Next time!
Colt your description of 100 degrees is spot on wet or dry it is hot.
Love those trails! I tried to climb to the jail house about 20 years ago and couldn't get there. I assume the entrance is from the top. I have also pulled two vans out of the sand trap before the entrance to Arch Canyon.
Great video
That would be another trail I would do in my Suburban dragging my CF Moto
Colt-i reroof in Phoenix year round. 100 degrees is beauty! 150 with a nice breeze isn’t too bad (rooftops get hot)!
You must be part lizard😁👍
Awesome video, loving all the trail rides. So did you move to Farmington just so you'd have easier access (than the Black Hills) for getting to other places? You're always on the go!

Dude the S10 is by far my favorite OnX Offroad build so far. Even the rigs being done now still dont compare to the S10 IMO.
Love the Scenery and contrast of blue sky and Red Rock . You using go pro?
That's a great trail 👍😎✊
It was!
