I first became fascinated with the cliff dwellings as a school kid back in the early 60's. All we had back then was photos in text books and National Geographic. It seems so much more real and alive on video. Thanks for taking this old guy along on a vicarious trip of a lifetime.
Thank you Colt, Shannon and family for taking us along. 😊😊😊😊😊
Our pleasure!
I have owned four S-10s and Sonomas and yours has by far the best exhaust sound. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Man i love the 4corners .
So many cool trails , so much history, and beautiful views for ever
Thanks for the tour!
Thank you, Mr. Colt, for the ride-along and the beautiful scenery. I got to see places a mere mortal, such as myself, would never get to see.❤👍👍
Colt always searching the terrain for the perfect line, even though he can’t drive there. 😂🤣😂
The "jail house" was for keeping turkeys according to the historians.
That seems like an inconvenient place to access to haul them food and water it it’s definitely a safe place from predators.
I was wondering about Honeymoon suite. Certainly peaceful, lol! Great views & history. Thanx !
Thank you Colt and everybody for the adventure , seeing some amazing scenery and learning some history from that area !
Gonna have to put Skyler in the Roxor next time. I'm really enjoying your content. Super cool to see the whole family out trailing together. I really like the way the S10 exhaust sounds on video btw.
Cool journey today Colt! Thank You for the come along!🇺🇸🙏
Basically what Colt told Skyler, "It takes big bucks to play with trucks".
Hey Colt.. Good to see your family out trail riding with you. They seem to be beautiful and intelligent. Which brings up the question, how did you end up with Shannon, is she blind? And are the kids the Milkman's?
We Kid Ya, Cause we Love Ya.. Have fun and God Bless Y'all..
As a geologist, it's great that you appreciate it too. Love the channel, and glad you broke off on your own.
Thank you!
Why did Colt run across the road? To go point out the Rock formation thats basically a toilet bowl!
loving all of your adventures Colt!! Congrats to Skyler too...
slim jim was quite funny bring him along any time
It looks like you have been blessed with a wonderful and fun family. What more can you ask for other than reimbursement for food😂. Last year, my son and I had the pleasure to meet you in PA before your departure for UA (I was the guy that brought honey from my local hives). I want to thank you again for your kindness and grace when I’m sure you were quite busy. My son still very much appreciates the keychain you gave him off your keys to the S10 and signing his TJ grill(the grill I was going to use on my next build but is now on his wall).
That honey was great!
So cool to see the whole family out there having fun enjoying this beautiful trail
That window that you pointed out is a vent hole. As the heat rises in the dwellins it would escape avoiding a hot box.
I was thinking that or for a wood joist for the roof, or second floor
Did you find any Diamond Billed Rock Peckers?😀
Dude this is awesome, love seeing the whole family having fun, it's really encouraging and motivating! Planning a trip to the rubicon next summer with my fam, can't wait!
Love the family attitude!😂😂
What a brilliant video this was. Content was very informative and interesting. Well done Colt. Keep them coming. 👍👏👏
I knew about these though. I've been through these before with my dad when I was ten maybe twelve years old. Both times in a '72 f100 that was highly modified We slept in the bed, cooked out, and some of the best memories I have.
I just passed you on the million dollar highway yesterday with your S10 on a trailer. It looks awesome in real life.
Thanks for the introduction to two sweet trails. Please keep them coming.
You bet!
Love these trail ride videos with the walking adventures and history mixed in!
So much cool stuff to see if you just get out and look for it.
What a great trip! Great to see you Shanna!!
colt, that feild trip was amazing,i did not know just how beautiful your part of the country is. a huge thank you for taking me along on this feild trip and a history lesson, i loved every second of . great work sir!!!😃😃❤❤❤
Glad to see the family out enjoying the great outdoors! Thanks for taking us all a long the journey! The rental jeep should get some love, and a tranny cooling system, gears, maybe adventure some lockers. Doing a driveway diy build series on it would be a great thing. Keep it as a daily drive, but able to be a weekend warrior!
I can sympathize with any Jeeper who believes they got booted back to the "B-Team" --- aka B-roll category. Kind of must be how 'Side Show Bob' must have felt playing next to Bart Simpson. 😖
Climbing on those rocks in sandals is wild to a tender foot like myself.
Dad joke how did the farmer get his pigs to the market?
In a pigup truck.
The small adobes were like look out towers for enemies. The reason the doors were small, you bend over to get in as a enemy, there goes ur head or stabbed easily.
My knees were aching just from watching you guys hiking this trail. It does look very pretty out there though for sure. thanks for bringing us old folk into your adventures by filming them and posting on youtube.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great vid, awesome to see the family out for the trip.
Oh my Mr Colt. Is should be the colt and son show. Your sons commentaries. Lmao.
Nice! Wish my family and I could live out that way but career, money, bla bla. You're a lucky guy Colt
Whoever arranges the music for your videos is doing an excellent job.
You should bring your buggy and come wheeling in Price!!??
Hey colt get ahold of me I have some cool ideas to run past ya!!
Hi Colt and Co. Thanks for taking us along and sharing your adventures. 😎🇬🇧
Wow! You brought me back to my childhood. My dad used to to take us all around southern Utah and look at dwellings long before Utah was known. This is one of the coolest videos I have seen on RUclips. Thank you so much for bringing back memories of my dad!
That would be another trail I would do in my Suburban dragging my CF Moto
These scenic trail videos are definitely my favorite on your channel. Great video!
Awesome, thank you!
What a view!!
Awesome journey Colt to you and the family.
Why did the chicken cross the road? To show the raccoons and deer how it is done. Thanks Colt for the great video. Keep them coming.
Someone must have fixed Arch Canyon. The last time we tried it (Fall 2023), it was washed out and impassable. We'll have to go back sometime soon.
Also, I'm not sure if you're aware, but for future reference, when it comes to native sites, Walls and rock alignments should be observed, not touched. Rock and adobe walls are fragile and in a constant state of deterioration. Don’t climb, sit, step, lean, or stand on the walls." It's better not to enter a site and to take only pictures/videos from the outside when possible. Just something to keep in mind for future sites.
I'm the VP of the Salem Jeepers in Salem OR. We are hosting the 2024 Salem Jeep fest this year at the fairgrounds. It will be on August 3. Let me know if you are interested. I know this might be a long shot because we are located in OR
Awesome content, beautiful scenery and good family memories for you all. Thanks Colt
My 83 GMC S15 has 489000 miles on it. Original 2.8 motor. The only things working on the dash is temp and battery. 4x4 only works with a clamp on the vacuum pump
The you tube guy the trek planner he goes to those places even that one. You should watch some of his hikes
Love Blanding did Hotel Rock and Arch Canyon before we would spend month out there exploring .
Dark Canyon is cool run , Bears Ears , BLM trail 1 runs back from Arch canyon all way back Blanding , Monticello, use be able go all way hook and Ladder but that years ago . Nice video !
Sooo, what do ya call the trails in the Dakotas, mountainous boulder crawling? I'm thinkin you have a less expensive idea on how to upgrade the e-bay jeep. Beautiful country. Thanks for sharing.
That looks like a grainery. The anazai were only average 5 ft to 5ft 4in
Awesome trails, Thank you for the Tracks
Glad you like them!
Nope, you got it backwards. Look at the canyon walls and the water level lines. If your talking like 700 AD, than most of that area was under water or islands. And if you ever hike on top of those mesas, you'll find dinosaur tracks left in the sandstone.
Y’all are riding some good trails where I live we don’t have to many trails like that an definitely that long an I like that S-10 I used to have one just like it but does it still have there factory 4.3L in it cause it sounds good
Great respect for what you do. Your approach is one of respect and opportunity to see and learn new things. Thats why I think you will want to know this. "Anasazi" is not a term to use currently. Its historic meaning and use is considered derogatory and offensive to some peoples. It is more appropriate to use "ancestral puebloans" or "Hisatsinom" currently. I too, love visiting these ancient sites for their beauty and history. So I try to be as respectful of the modern descendents of these ancient ones as I can. Great video and when you relocated to NM/the 4 corners area, I hoped you would visit some of these sites in your travels. As you are aware we are at great risk of losing these areas access. It would be such a loss.
Great tour guides you are ,thank you for showing things that i may never get to visit ,but now i can say ive seen them ,Utah certainly is fascinating and scenery out of this world ,thanks again and the Chev sounds just right, the Jeep ? exhaust leak ,gear ratios or something sounds as its to high geared , certainly could do with more controllable handling and aome more pony's,give it some confidence
I'm with ya... Bring the heat... I'm a cold weather pansy...🤣
Possible burial ground on cliffs. This also done in Hawaii!
Love those trails and Happy to see you out having some fun with the family!! Thank you for sharing
I think the Jail place was for chickens or birds of some type. Why else would people need stick bars?
Very cool trails, awesome scenery, your reference to Onyx has made me a believer, gotta have that app!
You should not be going in the ruins! Your mere presence in them is destroying them with your body oils etc. any ranger will tell you to stay out, that’s why they want to close them. I’m a native of the area…
Awesome road trip thanks for bringing us along i hope i can start doing some exploring i have been fighting colds every since i got covid haven't felt good for a year now fighting shingles dang it i got for my 51 birthday gee wish i could return it its taking a toll financially and emotionally thanks for the smile you seem like a way cool guy
I like your videos, but You are advertising way too much…
There's a guy who explores the deserts and posts the dwellings he finds on his youtube channel Desert Drifter. Jeep overheating might need an oil cooler if it doesn't have one.
that area has gone through various periods of population and depopulation depending on climatic conditions .when the area has been able to support a population people have fairly quickly established one .
I have to ask if you are referring to SW South Dakota as "fridged cold?"
Looks gorgeous! This is definitely on the list to do this summer.
Really cool to see your explorations around the area. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing Colt, now I need to get out to Utah and see some of these sights for myself
Thank yall for the fun trip. So rugged and beautiful. ❤
I think in the video you guys left from Blanding. If you have to trailer your rig are there any parking areas or trail head parking?
The "E BAY JEEP " SOUNDS LIKE IT IS GETTING HOT!!!! CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?
Thanks colt for allo of the beautiful scenery that show in your videos
Mother in law suite. Love the scenery.
The problem with these kinds of video's is that it exposes these areas to idiots who don't take care of the land they are enjoying and ruin it for other to enjoy.
beautiful gods country would love to run those trails
Missed opportunity to say, hard rock hotel. LOL Great episode, Colt. Thanks for sharing!
Next time!
When was this recorded? I’m wondering if it has water in it still
What brand of phone holder is that? Looks really solid!
We need more family videos!! Good times!!!
A budget way to put gears in? What sorcery is this?
what is the appropriate amount of slim Jims for a week?
Does anyone know if you can camp along any of these trails?
Colt, i am glad that you built that "Eaasssssy10"
That is such a beautiful trial I want to go there thanx for sharing asome
Colt-i reroof in Phoenix year round. 100 degrees is beauty! 150 with a nice breeze isn’t too bad (rooftops get hot)!
You must be part lizard😁👍
Colt your description of 100 degrees is spot on wet or dry it is hot.
When I click the links ON X is taking to Idaho.
Very cool area, will have to add to to my bucket list. Thanks for showing us a new place to adventure to.
Any time!
trees have a finite lifetime, other than disese and damage thats why they die .
So by black hills standards is this arches a 4 or 5?
Wow really cool trails Colt, thanks for taking us along bro.
You bet
Keep on Keeping ON Mr. Colt, America ❤️ you and you just keeping doing what you ❤️….👊🇺🇸👊
How does Shana like driving Smokeshow?
On my 07 JK I had to put gears in with 35's and my budget way as at the beginning of 07 A friend with Randy's R & P called me to barrow my jeep for a week to test fit new Yukon gears and for that week they gave me new gears and a 500 mile oil change.
Does that JK have a 30 and 35 or does it have 44's? If 30 , 35 switch to 44's with 4:10 gears would help a bit but mine had 5:13 gears.
I thought you moved to new mexico.
