- This is an amazing BIR curry. Chasni is a cross between a Pathia and Tikka Masala, so, if you like any of these, you will love the Chasni. Give it a try and make it your new favourite. Al

Made this for the second time last night. Apparently no other curry will be needed in our house. Truly amazing. Thanks for all you do mate.
What’s base gravy?
@@rubyeltringham2929 prob a bit late lol, but base gravy is a vegetable based stock that they prepare in indian restaurants and add to the curries. Often made with onions, peppers carrots and spices
@@tylerlynn9193 thank you 😊
Made this sauce (no chicken in it) for the first time on Mon 28 Dec and took it away with us to our holiday home the day after. I also added coriander to it while it was cooking. I reheated it and we just added some rice, chips and naan bread to the sauce. Wow, we were blown away by the sauce. Really nice and spicy as well.
So today I have made the sauce again for use tonight for new years eve. Slight tweak to it, along with coriander I added, cherry tomatoes and spinach. Tastes really good. When I come to serve it later, some of the sauce will be used with king prawns and the rest will have chicken tikka in it. Looking forward to it.
Al, just finished washing up, had to send a comment. This dish was the best Indian we have ever cooked, absolutely beautiful, full of flavour and depth. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing short of amazing. Visually stunning, superb flavour, yet so straightforward to make. YOUR BEST RECIPE!
Mark🤗
I've made this for a few people who were really impressed. You have changed my curries so much thank you
Been cooking BIR a few months now and starting to get the hang of it. Made this for the first time this evening and it was one of the best curries we’ve had. Thank you Al
Had a curry night at home. Made your Chasni, Korma, Bombay potatoes, Mushroom Bhaji and Pilau rice......OMG!! Fantastic all better than any BIR I’ve been in. Keep up the good work Al 👍👍
Hi Al,love your videos and i’m totally obsessed.Made your base gravy and chicken chasni 4 times in the space of less than a week due to requests from friends and family.
Hi Al, made this in two seperate portions last night for four people and OMG....This was a complete success and now one of my favourite's. I have never had this dish before and so glad I discovered you. Have been making curry dishes for years, but yours are the best. Thanks Al and keep them coming :)
What a great tasting curry Al. Loved it. Been "making" curries for years but ever since I bought an aluminium pan, made base gravy, use ALS special mix and pre cook my meat it has totally transformed my curries
I made this last week, two servings infact, one for me and one to drop off at my mums. We enjoyed it very much.I have been on furlough lately, and have had plenty of time to experiment in the kitchen. Following your instructions I have been able to produce some fantastic results. Cannot thank you enough, game changer. Shall never use a jar of sauce again.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just cooked this tonight and I'm very impressed. I substituted hot madras for mild madras powder as I like a hot curry and I wasn't disappointed. I shall try it with friends now it's passed my taste test. 👍
Made for the 40th time no kidding everyone who eats this absolutely loves it well done Al you are amazing 💯 😀🔥
Made this curry this evening, honestly Al it’s the best yet. Where have you been all my life, keep it up mate you’re a absolute hero in my eyes.
Made it last night, with your base gravy2. Saved me 20quid from my local takeaway. Added 3 cardamoms in with the onions. Outstanding. Thanks Al. Much appreciated.
Just made this two nights on the bounce using extra hot chilli powder instead. It's incredible! Delicious like a tikka masala but with the spice of a 'proper' curry. Superb!
Never even heard of this curry or Al himself until last week!
A fellow foodie friend on fb made this from your recipe Al, and looked fantastic, suggested I try this.
Oh my word.... hands down, one of the best, if not THE BEST - curries I’ve ever made.
I’ve never seen this on any menu here in the south, but I don’t need to! I’m happy with this recipe. You demonstrate BIR use of ingredients coupled with technique (such as the bubbling and caramelisation of the sauce) so well.
Hats off to you sir! I have recommended your channel to anyone who’ll listen, thank you so much ♥️
I do have one question/remark.... it would be really helpful to know which base (1 or 2) you have used for each curry. Also for your Ceylon it states “golden curry base” - do you have a recipe?
Much love ♥️
This is the best curry recipe ever.
I’ve made curry’s at home for over thirty years.
This is the one curry that produces every time. Truly amazing. Cheers Al, pure genius.
Have looked at this menu loads of times , but tried it tonight and it was absolutely lovely. A nice combination of sweetness and spice. My wife always tells me off for not commenting.
It was delicious !!. Excellent
Wonderful! Glad you liked it.
Never heard of this, went to the shop last night to get a couple of ingredients I didn't have, cooked it, minus cream and coriander which I added this morning. Fantastic. What a dish.
Hi Al, just tried your recipe for this curry. WOW Amazing! I've made another 3 of them in 2 days. I've never heard of a Chasni curry but this is our all time favorite now. Thank you
Hi Al, I have made many of your curries, this is one of my favourites, hubby loves it too. Thanks so much for sharing
We made this a week ago and didn't have any mild madras powder, so we used asda tikka powder.
It was fabulous.
Bought some mild madras powder this week, same curry obviously quite different equally lovely.
We now have two brilliant version to make.
I made this dish this evening Al. It was absolutely gorgeous, with a wonderful depth of flavour. Many thanks!!
Being a Southerner I have never heard of this curry, but I followed your recipe today and the results were outstanding, thanks Ali.
This is the 3rd curry I have made off your channel , absolutely stunning dish , all your recipes are so great
I just made this tonight. Came out worthy of a photo too. Tasted amazing. The Mrs wants it tomorrow too. Thanks Al.
Made this tonight along with Bombay aloo and saag paneer. What a treat x
This dish was so WOW,, I cant even begin to tell ya,, lol,, the Garlic chilli chicken use to be my favorite but This one Here , well it Totally Surpassed my regular dishes i cook and love from Al' kitchen Recipes , This is Totally Amazing,,, Thank you Al, xx
Lemon, mango, mint, cream, chilli and fenugreek. Sounds and looks divine
Don't usually comment on RUclips but this is well worth it. I doubled up because I was making a large double portion and it was just superb. Sweet but not too sweet, tiny edge of spiciness and the mint sauce just lifts it all up. This will be the curry I cook to impress people now without doubt.
Excellent. Made me happy this comment. Don't stop there I recommend the 5 Spice Dhansak
@@AlsKitchen I'll take a look at that next. Full disclaimer I used a different (easier because I'm lazy, and in the pressure cooker) base sauce but this chasni still turned out brilliant. Will let you know how the dansak goes!
Used to have this all the time when we lived in Glasgow, it was my absolute favourite, really missed it when we moved to Leeds! However, as you can imagine loads of great curry houses in Leeds , so didn’t cry for long!! I had forgotten all about it until I came to your site. I have made your tikka, the best I’ve made! It of course helps having all the exact ingredients including the edible mustard oil!! Soooo many good Asian supermarkets here in Leeds! Anyway, started to look at other things on your site. Have made your powder, and your base gravy (no2) So I’m ready!! Have made your samosas Fab! Even better you don’t have to deep fry! And now this Chasni! Amazing!! Just like I remember it. Have now made a little Als kitchen book, with all the recipes I want to try…..I can’t wait! Going to pre cook some lamb as well! If your ever in Leeds go to Akbars and try their Roshan Lal, it’s amazing, and perhaps you could make it, and share the recipe!!!! Thank you.
Wow. Just wow. Never had a bad recipe from you yet mate and cannot wait to try this. Keep em coming 👍👍👍
Just cooked this bad boy up for a Sunday evening dinner for me and the wife! Wow!! We changed the mango chutney for a lime pickle chutney as that’s all we had in so I can only comment on how ours turned out but it was blooming amazing if I don’t say so my self 😂 thanks Al keep them coming 👍🏼👍🏼
Just read my comment from 4 years ago, I'm still making this, its just soooo good. Thanks Al.
Never heard of a Chasni. This is the next one to try I think.
Keep 'em coming Al.
Your the best you explain every recipe in great detail I've tried a lot of your dishes and they are amazing just wanted to say thanks for sharing
My new second favourite. Added 1 chopped green chilli with the rest of the spices and we were pretty blown away. It's lovely to find a curry like this that tastes a bit, well... different.
Cheers Al.
Made Chicken Chasni last night Al. Absolutely magic!! The food coloring makes such a difference. Great recipes. Loved all of your curries so far. Keep up the great work.
I just made this, it was amazing. The description of a cross between a Pathia and a Masala is bang on, Pathia is my favourite so I loved this. Thanks Al.
What’s base gravy?
After preparing Al's base sauce v2 earlier this week and some chicken tikka I finally made this curry and Al's prawn chilli masala this evening. All I can say is wow both of them turned out fantastic. The results were like curry's from my local takeaways only much better.
This is great although it now means more work for me as we are less likely to order something average from the takeaway when with Al's recipes I can do better.
Thanks Al for sharing these techniques and recipes they are great, keep up the good work :).
Absolutely amazing curry. Tastes fantastic!
Made this last night. Never tried it in a restaurant but I think it’s the best one I’ve made at home yet (used your second base gravy). Perfect balance of everything - loved it!
Just made this for the umpteenth time, only this time I omitted the cream and the food colouring and it was still a cracking curry!
Great shout out for Mother India in Glasgow, definitely a local favourite here! Great recipe as usual Al
I'm Glaswegian, Mother India is fab, as is my local, The Alishan
very expensive though
Would it do Chasni though
Mother India in Edinburgh is good as well although went a few weeks ago and wasn’t as good as usual. Was gutted
This looks amazing Al, so many things adding layers of flavour, thanks for this, notes made. Take care.
Made this curry last night for the family, lovely curry, used chicken tikka and got great results, thanks Al.
Just made this curry. It is delicious and the closest to a restaurant dish I've ever made. Many thanks Al, love your recipes!
Made this curry today and it tasted just like the one I had from the takeaway. Thank you Al it's defo my no 1 curry. Looking forward to trying a few more of your curries out.
My buddy has me doing this to your recipe, never had chasni previously, it's amazing.
The wife and kids love it too.
Keep the videos coming. 👍🏼
I love this curry, a true legend among curries. Cheers Al.
Made this two weeks ago , family was totally knocked out , one of the best curries we have had for a long time. Just made your chicken Methi tonight , absolutely awesome. Love watching your videos Al , keep up the great work. 👍
Thanks Al, I followed your great recipe and it was fantastic. I really appreciate all the effort you put in to your vids
Much credit to you Al - this curry was absolutely banging mate. Thank you.
Perfect recipe ingredients and method Al. Kia Ora.
Al, maybe a silly question, your meals are for one. To cook for more do you simply multiply the spice accordingly, also 30mls of base gravy, is that for one and just double up for a second person? Love the videos, I’ve been attempting Indian cooking for a year, I’ve suddenly improved after following your recipes cheers
Hi Al thanks for all your hard work to bring this fantastic recipe to us. I’ve made it several times now and it’s a crowd pleaser every time😋
Made this last night ...really wonderful flavour and one of the best chicken curries !! Thanks Al.
Made this recently and it was such a hit with the family that I’ve got to make it again tonight. Good excuse for another batch of base gravy! Thanks Al- you’ve inspired me to cook curries- keep the recipes coming!
Love the music in the background
Tried this Friday night and cooked it again Saturday night! Now my favourite out of the 6 recipes I've cooked so far. Thanks Al
Another thanks coming your way, Al. Having tried your chicken tikka a few days back I decided to have a crack at this one. Jeeeeez........WHAT A CURRY. I made exactly as you do, including using your base gravy recipe (The first one) My sons all said it was the best curry they'd ever had. 10/10 for this one. A big thanks and keep em coming. Looking forward to have a crack at a few more over the coming months and years. All the best - Lee
My heart rejoices at comments like this. Thx so much. Appreciated
I made this for the first time today. Being from the south I've not seen it on menus before but it was a great curry and a definite crowd pleaser. Cheers Al!!
excellent curries Al, all my friends and neighbours love your curries 2 of them are now cooking them for themselves after trying the curries I cooked following your videos others just happy to let me cook them for them still working on these guys well done keep the receipts coming never by takeaways now no comparison only go out to a select few indian restaurants now thanks
Just made this for the 2nd time and it came out great again. Only difference was that I used beef strips instead of chicken. Very nice.
Hi Al, thanks for sharing this superb recipe. I have made this 3 times now for friends and it has gone down so well they are requesting it as a favourite.
Get ell soon Al . Tried this curry tonight . Excellent many thanks .
A big thumbs up from me Al. Thanks for your time in making yet another easy to follow, and I'm sure, great tasting curry.
Absolutely amazing. Was so happy with the result. The whole family loved it and have already asked for me to make it again. I asked my Twin 16 year olds how good they thought it was and they both gave it 9/10🥳. At least that is what I thought the said as it was hard to make it out as they were shovelling it in their mouths👍👍Love your videos Al. Really easy to follow🏆
Did this today Al and it went down a storm! Thanks again for sharing your work, great video and I got a fab result!
iain munro That's excellent Iain. Thanks for cooking it.
Excellent as ever Al I love curries and you have given me loads more to cook yours are brilliant, one question are you going to do a video on bread well nann and chapattis etc
Thanks Ian
Looks stunning and can almost taste this. One to try at some point.
Just made this Al absolutely perfect this is my new best bir keep up the great vids you are the best
Al, you're a genius mate. My first venture into BIR curries was this one, I made it yesterday. All I can say is O.M.G what an amazing curry the only thing that was wrong was I had no beer in ☹️. Tomorrow I'll be attempting the Dopiaza and will make sure that beer will be available. Keep up the great work.
Wow this is a great recipe that we would love to try! We are pretty traditional cooks but would love to explore outside of the box! This would be a great recipe to try something new with. We look forward to visiting your amazing channel again and again. Thanks so much for sharing. 😊👍
Wow 😀 just made this exactly and what a dish ! Delicious ! Thank you for sharing 😀
Glad you liked it!!
Another great tasty looking curry Al, can't wait to try this one, your videos are fantastic mate, very clear and informative, also love the humour, please keep it up!!!
My mouths watering.its on my list now that the base gravy is done.
Hi Al. Been following your channel for a while now and made Chicken Chasni with your Base Gravy 2 (electric boogaloo) on Saturday night along with your pilau rice and it was a belter. Keep the vids coming, they are so easy to follow and informative. Thank you.
Thanks for trying it. Electric Boogaloo. Loved those films lol
Last portion of base gravy and had to use it for this. Delicious! Never seen this on a menu in Sunderland but I don't think they'd come close anyway!
So easy and amazing texture, color and spices👍🏽👍🏽 thank you for sharing🙏
Glad you like it
Thanks Al, a brilliant recipe, made this yesterday and it turned out first class - really tasty. Hope you've got a Chicken Jaipuri recipe to come, been looking for one for ages. BTW Mother India is an excellent restaurant one of the few I'd recommend.
Love your curries been making base gravy for years but your recipes are amazing 👏 😋. The missis loves this curry making it agian tonight with your lemon rice recipe 😋 😀
Looks great. I regularly have this curry when out for an Indian meal. I live in Scotland and it is common on menus. Not a replacement for Pathia, just different.
Made this today. Couldn’t get the red coloring powder but used a little orange and it turned out great, but I will still look for the red coloring next time I’m at the Indian grocers. This has to be one of my favorite of your recipes so far
Great job!
That there curry was like a plate of happiness!!!! Cheers!
Just done my first curry. Started with this one and wow it was good. Thanks for showing us your talent my friend 👍
I’ve been watching your vids for sometime decided to make this tonight as it sounds very close to what I used to have at the local curry house near me I don’t do the texting thing but had to let you know this dish is spot on I’ve since copied more dishes and all I can say is they have been excellent fantastic channel well done Al 😃😃😃
