Enjoyed hearing the history of the locomotives. Your narration of the video was excellent. I will look forward to additional videos as your time permits.
Thanks for the count-down and the history. A big part of model trains is knowing where it all comes from and how we got here. Have an incredible day, today! T4
It was inspired. I always kept thinking of a what if a southern 4-8-2 was at the same museum as 630 and 4501. It would be cool to see a triple header with the three southern engines.
My 20 extinct steam locomotives that I want to be preserved: 1. New York Central K11 4-6-2. 2. Frisco 2-8-0. 3. Northern Pacific 4-8-4. 4. Northern Pacific Challengers. 5. Pennsylvania Railroad T1. 6. Texas & Pacific 4-6-2. 7. New York Central Hudson’s. 8. Cotton Belt 2-8-0. 9. Central of Georgia Big Apple. 10. Erie & Virginian Triplexes. 11. Boston & Maine R1 4-8-2. 12. D&RGW 2-8-0. 13. New Haven I-5. 14. Norfolk & Western Y6B. 15. Union Pacific Early Challengers. 16. Milwaukee Road Hiawatha 4-6-0. 17. Southern Pacific GS-2. 18. Western Pacific GS-64. 19. Illinois Central 4-6-4. 20. Rock Island Railroad 4-6-0.
Also, the C&O definently should have preserved an f19 pacific, a L-2 Hudson(these weren't streamlined) and the big chungus Berkshires aka the T-1 Texas types
@@tylergreen4843 I don’t think so because 1522 looks a lot like a Florida east coast 4-8-2. I don’t know if there is any trainz models of it if there is I will put them in honorable mentions
So I looked more into if there were any New haven steam locomotives still in existence, and come to find out, there's one locomotive still around, which is number 3025, which was preserved and in service as of 2019!
Actually, 3025 was built in China in 1989. It was bought by the Valley Railroad in 2008 and rebuilt to look like a New Haven J-1. So it's not an authentic New Haven steam locomotive.
@@MiddletownBranchProd. I don’t think there is any 2-8-2 narrow gauge locomotives that are extinct since all of the K series of mikados are still around.
I've got a Top 12 Extinct American Locomotives and Top 25 Retired Steam Excursion Stars 95 percent completed in their scripts, but I need to start my channel, and I'd need to find the time to complete it. I also have 30 percent completed my own American Railroad Iceberg based on Pennsyfan19 and Grand Drunk Western's videos
I only have a Ho sckile modle of an EMD FT a unit diezal locomotive, but it looks like a stander EMD F 7 A unit or any fother uint in that mater I don't realy see the differins in the units
If New Haven 4-6-4 Hudson No. 1400 was restored to operating condition in 1987, That'll be great to triple-headed with Frisco 4-8-2 Mountain No. 1522 and Union Pacific 4-8-4 Northern No. 844 for the trip to St. Louis, Missouri for the 1990 NRHS Convention.
I wish some of the steam locomotives on this list was preserved. They would be perfect Engines to run with some other steam locomotives on tourist railroads.

Wait, if the SP MT-4 was only mt class engine to not get preserved how many others were?
There is a good amount of mountain class locomotives that didn’t make it out. Another good 4-8-2 was the southern railway Ts-1 class 4-8-2s.
