3001 got smoke deflectors shortly after she was built. When she was at the museum she originally had them off but they were later put back on in the late 2010s.
Gosh I'm so sorry I haven't gotten around to doing 4274. With yesterday being full of steam, and past few weeks being crazy... I'll try to finish it up tomorrow
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Good show
Thanks!

@@bdvids7930 there has been a change to part 4. the 4 truck shay is on 2 spot.
@@brendanstrains9725 o i see btw Quick question is the N&W Z class i’ll be on part four? Just checking in
@@bdvids7930 sadly it won't but I will be putting it in honorable mentions if I can.
Even do heavy Challengers 3977 and 3985 were spare i would have like it if atleast one Fetter Challenger still around
It would be cool to see a fetter challenger still around.
Yeah it would be cool
And im gonna say this somebody should built a new Fetter Challenger it could either be a replica of one that has existed or the new member number 3840
@@Trainboy3982 maybe that would be cool
1:57 Wait when did 3001 get smokedeflectors

nice video
Thanks!
Ill be waiting for part 4!!!
It is currently in the works. It should be up in about 2 weeks

that is alright it will take a while for part 4 so take your time.
@@brendanstrains9725 Thanks. I'll also try to work on 70 as well
@@MilwaukeeRoadJames ok
@@brendanstrains9725 Also I live in San Jose, California.
@@nathancorcoran5347 nice!!!
I love ATSF 3829
well I thought 3829 deserved to be on the list more than some other extinct Santa fe engines. since it was the first 2-10-4 ever built.
Love it
Thanks!

@@RailsAndContrails part 4 will take a little bit of time.
@@brendanstrains9725 ok take your time
If the New York Central No. 3100 was saved. Somebody should build a replica for New York Central 3100 by the NYC 3100 Trust.
that would be cool. 3001 does have a chance to be restored but they don't have the money yet.
this is the best, I had named my FOE city the New York Central of her old name to bring it back alive
Nice! I’ve seen two nyc engines both Mohawks 2933 and 3001. From what I heard 3001 has a chance to be restored to running condition
I never knew there were “early“ challengers
Also what about N&W 611 wasn’t that one sparred
611 was spared but the difference is that the 611 is a J class. Not a K class 4-8-2.
Oh my bad I completely forgot 😅
@@mistermadmachine6311 as for the fetter challengers I wish one was preserved.
Yeah 😢
@@mistermadmachine6311 stay tuned for part 4 because there is one engine that hasn’t been talked about at all on RUclips in terms of its history.
Nice
All K2a class have the same streamlining like all J's but all K2'S were scrapped 1 class J survives today
Yup. I wish a K class was preserved since we have a surviving N&W 4-6-2 and 4-8-4 all we are missing is the 4-8-2
I wish Norfolk and Western K2 4-8-2 #133 was preserved
Did 133 almost get saved?
Who the hell are you calling extinct?
3001 is a L3 while the L4s are not around.
