- Disney Star Wars has continued to get worse with each passing day, and most recently The Acolyte has been getting roasted by ever online movie critic. Which has seemingly resulted in Disney or Hollywood Media personally attacking The Critical Drinker & Nerdrotic after their The Acolyte reviews. They have claimed that Nerdrotic and The Critical Drinker are encouraging hatred through their reviews! Once again proving Disney Star Wars shills will stoop to any level to defend their terrible movies and shows!

I have watched the drinker for a couple years. I don’t recall him ever saying anything violent. His main gripe is for studios to stop making crappy stories full of poor writing, stupid plot points, no consistency, etc.

Pathetic floundering by a now grossly inept corporation who shelters and promotes people of very questionable backgrounds - a corp whose background originated with and still largely lies with entertainment for children. I've only found him in the last couple of weeks and I've been making my way through his "Why Modern Movies Suck" playlist after watching his Falling Down - The Great American Lie video and at no point do I recall him calling for his audience to take up arms and do violence. I've also watched his reviews on the Acolyte and all he did was point out how crappy they are. I've dubbed episode 3 SW:DFaCS because the government sends the Jedi to take kids away from their family. Also in episode 4 the sith killed the Wookie jedi while he was napping in his chair apparently. Maybe they'll do a flashback scene to an epic light saber duel between the 2 but I doubt it.

The original Star Wars was diverse and people like Critical Drinker love it. Lando - a black man. Charismatic, good character, loved by many. Leia - strong female lead character, people loved her. Its not about bigotry or hatred for diverse characters, its contempt for poorly written scripts and characters.
Darth Vader was also voice by James Earl Jones, a black man, and it made him one of the most beloved and iconic villains of all time.

Only the voice of the black man was used, he was never seen on screen. The droids had personality but no autonomy, and their slavery was seen as being OK.

Ignoring whether that is true or not in every instance, what it has become is a built-in shield against criticism.

When Luke appeared in The Mandalorian it was the greatest thing to happen in Star Wars since the 1980's, but you half-brains are complaining! If you nimrods are too thick to enjoy the fact that someone is FINALLY putting out good live action Star Wars material again - for the first time in 40 years - then why don't you just go away already and leave the fans to it???

I am a Black man.......and I utterly hated the Acolyte!!!.
The worse acting!! I thought the actors, were......well, they shouldn't have graduated, from acting school. Just because one can, remember, lines and spew them out, dosen't mean one can act. All of the acting, was one dimensional, see through, like rice paper; flat, without being vibrant!
The scenes, were dark, and made shots look small even when scenes, were supposed to be sweeping. I.e, the cinematography was rubbish!
The writing, well it was a dead "Taun-Taun".
All in all, The Acolyte, was horribly acted,( remember I'm a Black man, so I'm not being bigoted! )
Disney, needs to look at the fine acting abilities of, "House of Dragon" (HBO Studios) DUNE II, (Warner bros Pictures)
Disney, needs to look at and take tips from Warner Bros. Pictures. And look at DUNE; their cinematography, were sweeping, great cinematography.

everyone in the show seems like a high school kid in a school play. the acting and direction is that bad. The child actors especially, they shouldn't have been cast in the first place ( i guess they couldn't find any actual identical black twins who want to be in a terrible disney show), and no matter how bad the child actors are, the director should have gotten better performances out of them than this.

I'm playing a 20 years old star wars video game currently and it's just better written than any star wars movie in my lifetime.
I did like rogue One and solo a lot though. I disagree with audience opinion on solo. That was a solid sci Fi film. I would encourage those who don't really remember it to try again with an open mind.
You will find a story and acting far superior to anything else Star wars in the last couple decades in my opinion.

The success of Disco Star Trek showed Disney that there can be an audience for similar Star Wars ventures. The blowback from much of the conservative male fan base was similar. The underlying antipathy for women, and the portrayals of women as independent, dynamic individuals, drives much of the commentary on these shows. These men need to own the canon. They are reminded that Paramount and Disney are interested in engaging the growing numbers of women that have no interest in traditional men.
