- The AT Gun in Hell Let Loose can double as portable artillery, a quick-deploy tank or an overpowered MG. In this video, I'll show you why you need to be using them more.

Yesterday as a German Engineer on Kursk Map I built:
1 Concrete Bunker
4 Concrete Walls
We had AT on each sides of the bunker and Machine guns in the bunker. We were positioned on top of a hill just above Oleg's house and we were defending it from this position. All 4 walls (2 on each sides) were defending incoming flanking attacks from tanks. These walls were placed in order to form a wide v shape and we could also protect our Garrison just behind that Bunker.
The AT guns were having a blast and they kept on killing anything coming towards Oleg's House. Nothing could make it even close to it.
Cheers from Montréal, Canada
Mmmm I can hear command chat now yelling how we don't have any munitions and screaming for more nodes.
Shouldn't be an issue if you have a good team working together. Unfortunately I've had plenty games where I'm an engineer trying to build nodes but nobody ever gets me supplies...
@@TucoTheKiller I'm getting ideas, but next time that happens maybe you threaten a rifleman with the commissar and make him be your supply bringer. Also tell your squad lead that you're taking a logistic stance
@@Succushi i just get the truck myself and drive it where i need supplies.
I was literally just playing a game with you haha. Subbed! See ya on the field.
Hearing the Quake 2 OST playing in this video is awesome. Clearly a man of culture.
“Don’t look at it like an AT gun, but a high powered machine gun” Wehrmacht figured that out a long time ago lol with the flak 88
Love the Quake II soundtrack in the background.
Can confirm. Won a game of offense on Foy by holding the second line. Objectives were Cobru Factory and the Flak Position, so I joined a squad that had set up an AT gun on the far west end of the map. There was literally no way to attack that position with discretion, and it denied the western wood thicket approach to the factory.
Even a pair of tanks trying to get around still failed to break out, although that was thanks to squad comms.
I LOVE the AT guns, while everyone else says doubts it, I praise it wholeheartedly. With a little tactical movement, a friend with you (or yourself but I prefer a friend with me), and goodshot placement, you can really do some damage and help the team a lot.
Allied forces were terrified of the flak 88
@@NotThatGuyPal. Just like the germans were terrified of the at guns
@@NotThatGuyPal. which isn't an at gun.. but was quickly learned that it can be used as one lol. Sadly all we can use is the pak 40 75mm. For German on this game. But it's a beast
@@FaithHopeLove0123 exactly! That’s where it was more effective tbh.
I used it on the snow map behind some trees. The enemy tanks didnt even see me the whole match. I had so many fucking kills thats unbelievable.
Let’s talk about underrated... your channel, you talk smooth and clearly and express your point clear as water. You have great content men congratulations. I just subscribe and looking forward to new videos.
Thank you so much 🤗
I was playing a game of Foy a few weeks ago and Southern Edge was under siege from two enemy tanks, it felt hopeless, but used smoke to break out of the strong point and headed east along a fence line. Quickly asked for support and a gun crew to spawn on our flanking outpost and we built the AT gun in the corner of the field. I spotted with the binoculars whilst two of my squad scored direct hits on the tops of both tanks destroying them both. I think everyone had a great sense of teamwork and accomplishment and we went on to win the game by eventually taking Cobru Factory.
I think part of the problem is you need an AT guy that has leveled up enough to even build one. I've only encountered one AT gun in the 30 some odd hours I've played HLL.
Well you can play with me since I have level 3 at :)
@@taylorwelch9209 This was before the update. You had to be level 6 before.
Same
@@taylorwelch9209 psn: FattyHaggs
Often people points out to me that I seems to love AT guns, and I always tell them it is overly underrated since once with my squad leader we've killed more than 50 ennemies on Foy.
He was spotting the targets with his binoculars while I was shooting from afar hided by the fog.
Man they never knew where it came from :P
This! Exactly how it should be done! Hell yeah
Great video. Exactly how I like to play AT. Drag my gun all over the map and wait for that opportunity.
I just start to play and enjoying HLL .
I really appriciate all of your guides and more, i Hope you will continue still a long Time.
This video is pretty old but i definetly want to try the AT gun now haha.
Theoretically anything should be possible seeing how every squad (more or less) always has an engineer, AT, Squad Leader, Auto Rifleman, Assault. I’m starting to use the support class more often now bc being a Machine Gunner gives me headaches. I get to a beautiful spot and get my head blown off as soon as I kill a few ppl. However that’s besides the point. From what I’ve notice (from my dozen or so games as a support player) is that nobody in a squad really stays together. Everyone is always out trying to win the war and I feel like that TDM mindset that most players have takes away from the real potential that a squad can honestly achieve
It's been a while since this video but me and a rando shut down three tanks, two panthers and a tiger, in what felt like 20-25 minutes, and that was just responding to seeing them on top of being normal infantrymen
I’ve been grinding my AT class since I started playing and figured out the rifleman, also your vids helped a ton😉 lvl 5 AT rn can’t wait to unlock the AT Gun🤠
Can you give any specific insights in how to top AT class quickly?
@@justvid366 fight hard!!!! But if your sneaky get behind enemy and place mines on their main roads to destroy their incoming armor and also get behind them and satchel them when they choose a path that is not covered by mines.
I've always used AT guns like this, it's so fun!
I'm just here to comment on the low-key Quake 2 music in the background! love it
Just last night in the support role I jumped on as loader with my AT guy on Purple Heart. We were a pretty big thorn under the other teams saddle.
SHHHHHHH! Don't tell them!!! hahaha
I LOVE using the AT gun! Need to be used more 100%
northern Carentan is also a good spot (where you can crossthe river over the boats), mostly to deny infantry crossing but often also a tank takes this position to provide cover for them... had a really... productive... gun there one match ;D
But Omaha is where they can be very nasty... along with all those MG 42s
Oh yeah, my favorite was putting one at WN73 (the one north of the dog green exit) looking sideways down the beach
My opinion is the same on AT Guns as yours. I used them quite succesfully many times. Altough, I have mention that usually it does not take too much time to get killed by tanks, AT launchers and arty, when using it. The music was very good, idea, it made the video more fun than your other videos.
Gotta love that quake soundtrack in the background
Zero arguments from me here, the skill is placing them but get them right and they are superb
You played all of my fav. songs from Quake 2 :-D
I've just leveled up can't wait to use it
I like to set em up on Remagen on the top of the hill by the north side of the bridge or under the sides of the bridge to stop infantry from advancing from below
My whole team of 50 peoole cant even place the garrisons.
I love the AT gun and use it when ever I can but I usually get no one putting down supplies so I cant build it sadly
I've been watching you're videos since I got the game and I gotta say, these should be required viewing for new players. The game would be 100 times more fun
loved the use of Quake 2 music.
My 1st panzer unit uses these alot.. we have a whole team dedicated for at crew.
I’ve saved whole points just by hopping on the AT gun and slinging rounds down range at infantry and enemy tanks. The shells may cost a lot but if you’re getting kills, especially enemy armor, it’s worth it
On omaha beach with team defending, it is unbeatable. You can destroy the light tanks as they spawn in the ships so they can never get an armor squad up along with pelting everyone on the beach.
In case anybody wants to know, the music is from the Quake 2 soundtrack by Sonic Mayhem
Left hand flank on ohmaha with pak 40 is op
Awesome!!
Fun fact: In RL, AT guns were far more destructive for tanks than other tanks.
You are not wrong on this... I didn't even know these existed until 60+ Hrs in...
Every time my squad is on defense I always set up a repair station and an AT gun.
Sounds like some solid teamplay
Reoair statuon is also realy op.
dude this is god tier
Your talking about the AT gun as if your selling it. Keep it up.
What if the AT gun was set up in the bonus zone for a munitions node, maybe a shot could cost 2 instead of 5. Interesting dynamic. Or on repair stations, if built within a fuel node repairs happen 50% faster and if also within a munitions node it could also resupply ammo but 50% slower or something; i dont tank so idk what would be fair.
Unless of course this is already a thing i just haven’t learned enough yet.
I alway use it and I love them for blowing tanks up and Infantry In building
How do you aim down sights on the AT gun?? I for the life of me cant figure it out!! Im on PS5
I personally love the AT Gun. It definitely is underutilized for sure.
Yeah if AT gun spams all ammunition without nodes it's usually bad time for team.. good points and last few ones were the most important
Maybe they should add the option to setup a mount gun.
How can you do private matches and search for matches. Ps5 only has quick match basically which sucks please explain why ps5 doesn’t have a browse section
Haven't met a team that uses it yet. I might have to hope
What happened to the locomotion and lighting in this game? Looked much better years ago
How to kill the jumbo from tve front with that gun
It annoys me when people go for the engine block when you can rip their legs off going for just under the turret.
A hint: if you switch to 2nd seat (F2) it is possible to rotate the AT gun further to left/right as sitting on gunner position (F1). See you on the frontline.🧨
Is there a Discord group for this community? None of my friends are playing this game, but I want to be in groups that work well together.
I’ve recently seen a surge in the at guns usage
We had 6 built while defending in Omaha. It was a bloodbath.
a unit with 6 ppl who communicate will win any game because of the many stuff you can like bulding a bonk stick aka the at gun
its all fun and games until you hit a fence post like that. Or set it on uneven ground that sends your shot into a hill 1m in front of you even though your sight picture is clear.
How do you ads in these?
Yeah I love playing as at guy because of the pak 40 and it’s like a mini artillery or tank. It does so much damage and it is really enjoyable and I had funny moments with it.
(Btw I’m the guy that played with you the other day username coltgames55)
I'm on console and I have yet to see an AT gun or figure out how to place one myself. Everything I've read or seen in videos says the AT class should be able to place the blueprint for it but my loadout only seems to have the hammer. If anyone could help steer me in the right direction it would be GREATLY appreciated 🙏
And thank you @monoespacial !! Your videos have been very helpful.
You need the 3rd loadout. On console there's probably only a handful of people with access to the 3rd AT loadout (which has the at gun), if at all.
Could you use the at gun as a makeshift artillery peice? They have mil elevation marks
Nope
So what class has option to build this?
At or support?
N i never see a garrison option as engineer , what class builds garrisons?
Garrisons can be built by Commander or any officer (squad leader), either infantry or recon. The only squad leader that can't build garrisons is the Armor crew.
Check out my beginners guide if there's still key things like these that you might not know
Noticed recently that you can aim the AT gun upwards like an artillery gun, can you use it effectively as mobile artillery?
No
How do you replenish ammo for the AT gun. They aren’t OP. Update 10 was supposed to make them easier to use and supply ammo for. AT gun crews are super fun to play but it’s so hard as you have to convince other people to at least bring supplies to set up. I just wish it was easier to deploy them, they can’t be easily moved so.
AT gun uses Munition resources. So basically, you have to build munitions nodes.
Sonic Mayhem background music, from Quake 2.
i dont see it in matches now because you need to be lvl 6 as an anti tank to get the wrench to build one and need lot of supplies. Idk why devs make this so hard to make an appearance on matches.
That's only because the change was just implemented. Give players some time to unlock them, and you should start seeing more of them again. I just hit lvl 5 last night, going to do supply run grinding to hit that last lvl
@@greatbrandini3967 The grind is real. I always get engineer to build nodes to get the exp for the class that i want to level up , but anti tank role always get picked in a blink of an eye at the start of the game so i cant do the nodes first to get the exp.
I'd really like to try it myself, but theres a 50h grind in my way to get to the needed lvl.
Build nodes. Just have someone go engineer and drop the blueprints for you. You will make A TON of XP.
@@monoespacial thx alot mate! i hope this makes things easier :D
I can’t ever aim down sights. I see the keybind for it, but when I press it NOTHING ever happens
Ask around at discord.gg/hellletloose
you need 3 AT guns at the same place for them to be really good!
my biggest kill streak was 50 or 60 with an AT gun
One time we were getting heavily pushed and the AT gun saved us
Almost all WWII RTS approve this video
How do you zoom on the gun? Cant find it
That's something I edited. I zoomed in the video so you can see the target better.
I play on Xbox, we aren’t high enough lvl to have these guns. BUT I WANT IT
So how do you build one I’m still confused ? So you need an engineer support and AT guy so if those guys are around you the engineer can build it in his options ? Anyone ?
You need an AT guy with the 3rd loadout and 50 supplies.
@@monoespacial oh ok thanks for the reply
I rn grinding to lvl 6. Also tryed the AT with a Friend. But what I don't understand is why you need so much shoots for tanks? I just shoot a Sherman tank 3 times in the Back and died after. The tank was still moving. What is the problem? I'm on Console.
Wait for the next update, AT guns got nerfed in the last update (on which the console version is based on)
@@monoespacial Oh okey ty.
hey but how does your team generate munitions?
Munitions nodes, built by engineers.
I thougt its called Field Canon ?
What does everyone think about the AT gun having the option to load HE rounds as well as AP? Good idea or too overpowered/a munitions drain?
Unfortunately the only HE round the Pak 40 fired was the Panzergranate 38 HL/B (PzGr. 38 HL/B) A high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) projectile with a shaped charge. It would not be historically accurate to have a shell designed for anti infantry. (Fired from a Pak 40). The Germans had the Flak 88 for that. Which I hope they introduce one day.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.5_cm_Pak_40
Actually I stand corrected. They did use HE rounds for arching fire up to 5 miles. But to my knowledge it was rare to do so.
My AT gun never places when I do it the same thing as when your trying to place it can you help me?
You need someone else with a hammer in his Loadout to build them now. 😕
@@monoespacial that helps a lot thank you
The German pioneers tried to have some grenadiers with them always. At least 2 to 4individual crews. Thier P.A.K. guns progressively getting more powerful as the war went on. The so called " Mechanized " units.
instructions unclear. Please tell us how many hands and feets we need to aim to the right. ans also whos hand and foot do we use for measure. thanks.
The AP round does splash damage?
It does!
@@monoespacial Oh nice. So how does the two-person building requirement work? Do you need a supply crate?
AT guy builds blueprint. Now you need I think 75 or 100 supplies + someone with a hammer, which the AT doesn't have, so it's arguably a 3-man job. Used to be only 2 before U8.
Costs 100 supplies now, and you can't put down two supply boxes yourself
Yeah, it's much harder to get one down.
Can u turn the gun 360 degrees?
From the loaders seat, yes
AT + hedge rows = death
Wish we had HE shells for them tho
That would be completely broken. So yes, I'd like that too!
@@monoespacial true, but HE for field guns were used, from building busting to infantry obliterating, would only be logical, but increase the HE shells ammunition usage to something like 7-10 ammo per round
@@sovietred7371 yup, it would be cool to see them in game
Just put my AT gun on Kursk last night. 9 tank kills, 4 trucks. It was extremely satisfying 👍🏼
Why do people always think Americans need clarity on metric measurements? Every school I went to taught us both.
Almost no one is using them cause it takes a level 6 AT to unlock! Give it a few months and everyone will be using them
We use mm in the usa 🇺🇸
Just a tip, we (Americans) use fractions of an inch. We don't use decimals. We use the fractions 1/2in (1.27cm), 1/4in (0.635cm), 1/8in (0.3175cm), and 1/16in (0.15875). Those are what you find on a ruler and on a tape measure. If you still need smaller, you can say 1/32in (0.079375cm) and still be understood, but in my experience that's not common at all.
Lol, yeah, I know. I was just trying to make a joke and also, I wouldn't even know where to start trying to figure out what fraction 1mm is.
Quake 1 music?
Yep!
I don't think it's underrated at all. I think it's just difficult to work up to it. Still leveling my AT
I always dismantle my own at gun after use bcs randos will use it and depleting team ammo, and i will get blamed bcs build it
I always get yelled by vet player not to build one bcs expensive so build and expensive to shot
