I got excited seeing where you've come with the Moon set tee! I am also working on it and excited to add it to my wardrobe. I love your color choices for all your projects! I've made a cable vest as a gift and I too was critical with how the cables appeared, but my friend loved it and shared photos of how she styled it. Thank you for sharing!
You show us so many beautiful wips! I want to make them all! The way you share your knitting makes me want to pour over Ozetta's patterns; order Purl Soho yarn etc! Very inspiring! Thank you.
The relief that comes with frogging something is unmatched. I knit the other version of that Anne Ventzel cardigan and it took half a year with all the breaks I took 😂
The moon set tee is gorgeous! For the icord bind off at the bottom use a bigger needle if you don’t want it to taper in. I made the cumulus tee, used a smaller needle around the neck and kept the size for body for the bottom bindoff. Good luck….love the Frog Pond.
That burgundy color is absolutely beautiful! And a beautiful alternative to gray and navy. Can’t wait to see your Bruno sweater because you may have inspired me to make one. Dying to see how it looks on you!
I've been curious about Ozetta. Her children's sizes go large enough for me to wear and I've had my eye on one... and then I can also make stuff for the little ones in my life. Glad to hear you talk highly about it.
Your right. When I first started making garments I made stuff I was proud of but at the same time some of them not my style at all. What was I thinking? 🤔 😂 So I gave away quite a bit or donated some. Now I’m so much pickier. I don’t mind frogging projects when I realize it’s not working out the way I thought.
I love the comment you made about being more desisive about what to knit. I find i am sick because i made a to that never fitted even though i got gauge. Then it put me in a slump if what to make. Now i realize not all patterns are fit fit my ody type. Will start being more picky about what i spend my time working on.
Life is too short for a meh garments. That is beautiful yarn and I can't wait to see what you decide to do with it. Maybe a drapey hood/cowl to wear with your Bruno vest?
Lovely podcast, thank you! I was also checking out your books on the shelves on the background, I see my treasure Vogue Knitting, the enciclopedia of knitting. 🥰 What is the other book’s title, can’t figure it out.
Interesting to hear about your evolution with garment making. I’m new to making garments so I’m just trying to work the patterns and understand the techniques.
That’s great! That was me a year ago and I had so much fun. It’s really exciting to figure out what styles and constructions and yarns you like the best
I just want to share that you have encouraged me to go ahead and start the lake T I’ve had it for a long time. I was gonna start it last year and never did I have him hot about making it for who knows why I don’t know I know why but it’s a long story, but you have encouraged me to get back to it and start a new Knit, I have made a tank top out of bamboo and have made a pair of socks. I am a person that likes lightweight garments. I don’t like heavyweight so I’m OK with using fingering weight to wear something that I will actually like so it’s worth it to me. Your red Lake Tee is beautiful. I love red but I don’t have any of that yarn and I want to use up some of my stash. I do have a purple really pretty purple. It’s kind of a pinkish purple. We shall see I love your taste.
I knit a Large Moby in KFO merino held double on 4mm needles. I also was worried about size before blocking even though I had done a swatch. Measurements before blocking Width 45cm Length from bottom of back neck rib 68cm Length of underarm 51cm Width of neck 11cm Measurements after blocking Width 58cm Length from bottom of back neck rib 61cm Length of underarm 48cm Width of neck 15cm Blocking did its job. Have faith 😀
I would be very careful putting something with mohair in it into the washing machine, even on a wool setting. Mohair will shrink at the slightest bit of agitation, so steam block for now and hand wash your cardigan when it gets dirty! It's too beautiful to risk ruining it!
My husband asked my why I was laughing… he really wanted to know 😂 About the cables… I am facing the same dilemma. One cable looks good, but the other side looks wonky. I thought it was because maybe I was giving the no-cable needles a try, but if you are experiencing it with a cable needle, then I’ll also be hopeful it will block out.
On your Moby sweater, you seem to have fixed whatever was happening with that cable. The last one you did looks fine, as does the very top. (It looks like it only happened in two places.) I'm currently working on the Moby sweater and my cables look like the last one you did.
You are wise to frog the garment that is a "meh". Life is too short to fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy. The only little word of caution I might offer is to be careful about pairing the beautiful tweed yarn with a solid or tonal. I did this once and the tweediness was completely diluted by the solid. You could barely see any flecks. Just saying. 🙂
You made the right choice on that vest for you. The yarn is fantastic and you’ll find a project that you’ll be excited about!
Agreed. I think it will be much happier in another project
New Subscriber!😊

I think I’m heading for that timeline too. I am SO slow on the 1x1 cable row, even without a cable needle
Thank you love all your yarn choices
You are so welcome!
I love what you're doing with the Bruno Vest! Your color choices on all of your WIPs are making me want to buy all of that yarn.
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip!
Loving the color of the Moby so much 😍
Me too! I love that color - it’s a perfect unisex shade

Same here! Stay tuned 😄

I think she’s really talented, both as a pattern writer and designer. Highly recommend!

I’m in the same place. I’ve become so much pickier over the last year!
Happy Fall! 🍃🍂🍁 Love the color of your Moon Set Pullover Sweater and Moby Sweater Man. 🧶
Thank you! You too! Hope you’re enjoying all the fall knitting 😍

It’s a good strategy. I have such limited time for my hobbies. Gotta work on things that bring me real joy!
I thought you would say disposable paper sheet.. face masks but you went to toilet cover 😂 love it
You can tell where my mind is, mostly in the gutter and public bathrooms 😂😂😂

Couldn’t agree more. It would make me sad to see it wasted in a never worn garment. I like the idea of a hood!
Lovely podcast, thank you! I was also checking out your books on the shelves on the background, I see my treasure Vogue Knitting, the enciclopedia of knitting. 🥰
What is the other book’s title, can’t figure it out.
The big one is a collection of Audubon prints! And the other one is a book on Hayao Miyazaki, a renowned Japanese animator
Also a huge fan of Ozetta! I'm hoping to make her Port Jacket soon.
Me too! I love every single one of her patterns
Your voice is so newscaster -esque
Love the color choices ❤
Thank you! 😁

I love Moreca and Ozetta designs too 💙
Obsessed. I want to make them all

I would love to see what you come up with in the end! I love the Lakes tee ❤️❤️

I think it’s something to do with the tension holding the cable needle to the front or back. Never knew this!

Fingers crossed that I fixed it! I couldn’t figure out what I was doing so differently
It's still hot as heck in south Texas. :-(
I bet 😓😢

Noooo 😭 I hope that doesn’t happen. Maybe I can pair with another lace weight and go for a looser gauge. I’ll play around with it
