The worse way to resell is trying to have the cheapest price versus matching your competitors. High volume and small margins isn’t ideal for independent sellers, it’s alot of work to process and ship if you don’t have a team helping you do high volume.
The worst way is to sell everything. You need to niche down to get more sales. Consistency is the key. I diversified and it was a BIG mistake. Now I source and sell the same things, at the same rate, and it works. You told me this, Chris, but I didn't listen, now I know you were right.
The worst way I found out (and I’m a total newbie) is not researching brands and items and not running comps. I’ve picked things up because they are cheap or free but now I’m stuck with them 😊.
I work full time and only have weekends to list and a few nights during the week. I have noticed just with that consistency my sales have gone up to the point I am making more money a week than I make at my job. On weekends I list about 50 items. My biggest sellers are glass, home decor and jewelry.
Sourcing for me is make or break. If I want to be consistent or grow, I can't afford to have a bad week where I only source 50% of the numbers I want to list. If I was in 1 niche I would need to spend double the time sourcing in a bad week, or just list less. In multiple niches, I'm already there, the listing processes aren't that different, the admin is all the same. Obv this changes if you have a large supply, but many of us don't so finding 70 x $30 items in 1 niche a week can be tough at times.
that's the last step, train someone to run the show without you when you're on vacation or traveling. and eventually that's going to look like you aren't really even needed other than some honorary executive visionary title but really you don't do anything day to day.
I have been reselling for 2 years now I would say I am partime. I thrift 2-3 (2-3 hours per day) times a week and list 5 items a day. My average sales price this year is $63 and my average buy cost is $8 per item. I am slowly now trying to list 8 items and work my way up to 10 a day. I have really narrowed my thrifting to buy only very quality items and it makes it so much easier to list items that im very confident about. In my first year I was grabbing things that were ok but had a flaw or it was just because i liked it personally. Now I buy to sell. I buy quality items that I know people want. I am consistent no matter what is happening and Im slowly trying to grow my business. My goal is $100 k this year and I'm on track so far to make it. I think consistency and thrifting with purpose has really been a game changer. I know i am consistent but my next goal is to start a routine. Anyways thx for the videos. They help me stay on track.
My issue is that I'm inundated with items and collectibles from myself and inheritance. For example, I do try to gather all of the mugs and organize and list those. Then, the beanie babies, CD's and DVD's, figurines, etc. I admit Im overwhelmed and I wouldnt even dream of buying more to sell right now. Because I want to sell everything I own and have far too much, Ive been thinking about creating some boxes of mixed items to bulk auction off, so I can get rid of alot all at once too. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, Im overwhelmed. Without exaggeration, I probably have close to 500,000 items.
I can tell you right now, very few people in America have 1 year of savings. Did you read the pole that just came out that said 76% of Americans have less than 1,000 thousand in the bank? Sometimes you have to go for it I guess
DON'T RESALE EVERYTHING! He is absolutely correct, I started out in a niche and than my husband got excited and started bringing in any and everything. It caused me so much stress and burning out because he doesn't understand this business, and thought just sell it, all he saw was$$. I ended up with a lot of items sitting on the shelf. I am learning to niche down, which in turn I'm becoming an expert in my catagories. My best categories are high-end custome jewelry, Art, home decor: lamps, sculptures, and barware.
I resale everything doesn’t stress me out because i hustle to get everything listed and I put in the work like they say hard work pays off but yea if you can handle selling everything then don’t
@syphah phomma I say don't resale everything, because you can't specialize in everything. Like each Dr has an expertise and they master it. You probably turnover items fast but if you specialized in a niche you could really make top dollar, because you would have time to master that niche.
The biggest learning curve for me is i am not just looking at a brand and thinking it's going to sell, in my experimental year i'd see something like marvel and think because its such a well known brand the item i bought without looking will sell. If i had the option i'd love to start all over again using the knowledge i've gained but i have too much stock now to do that.
Can we talk about how Ebay has fallen off and many long time sellers with huge stores are reporting their lowest numbers in recent times? Me included. I went from 8-10 sales a day down to sometimes not even 1. Same types of items. Same pictures. Same listed everyday. Something is very wrong within Ebay and it's not being talked about.
The Economy is obviously broken. We are just seeing it before everyone else. Middle Class are the life blood of ebay, and their discretionary income is gone.
Very interesting content, I’ve been following for a about several months now and made an eBay account but been contemplating. This time around I’m about to have more free time so need to do my product research and figure out which category to sell. I was thinking to list stuff I have that I don’t use but is it a good idea, since I’m limited to 10 items/month?
Just pull the trigger and get started. You aren't going to do it perfectly from the start anyway and you will make mistakes! Choose the items you have that are most in demand and just list them! Start an inventory tracking system from the very first listing (I wish I had). Good luck!

Worst way to resell is buying a lot of super bulky items and not knowing how much shipping will end up costing.
Having a draft bank and going over old listings has my sales up 140% and over the 10/day sales average. Great stuff as always.

I do LEGO clearance and sell to an Amazon FBA seller and make 100% roi. I just have to hold on to them for 3-6 months and remove stickers for them.

If you have the motivation and drive reselling everything is not bad trust me I’ve been doing it for some time now it’s honestly fun in my opinion

i think it's a great way to figure out what you'd like to sell by focusing on items around you right now that are just sitting there.

What did you use as a backup system to keep from losing all of your listings on eBay? Or did you have to start back from the beginning?
When should you open an actual ebay store, where you have access to Seller hub and discounting your store.
Hi 😊-I had a question about an order I placed -how do I get in touch with you? 🧐
Sales are down for a lot of people now, do you still recommend not to use list perfectly?
Is it? Didn’t notice

Something is happening with EBay. It’s always down when I visit it.
Go to the online chat help. Once the chat decides it can't help you, they will offer to call you.
