An underrated band full of absolutely wonderful songs and talent. If this was Bruno Mars, it would be heralded as a masterpiece of songwriting and his genius. Scottish talent at its finest.
I fully agree. Very underrated. Lindy.
Bruno deep fried Mars though?
@@Mwgsyboy 🤣🤣🤣
a few bands nowadays should watch this because this is just pure brilliance.
This is brilliant! School kids playing brass, other musicians at the recording desk playing double bass and congas, extra guitarists, exotic instruments, extra backing singers, two drummers....!
One of those rare occasions when more is more! Brilliant.
Pure Class,
What a song, and what a recording. Very natural without special effects. Just fabulous guys. Love the sounds of those instruments.
Stunning performance by everyone. One of my favourites ever !
Talent doesn't get any better. Could sing this all day long and at the moment i am doing just that. It makes my day.

This is the sort of thing that should be on kids TV now!!!!
Brilliant - there's so much more for young people to aspire to in the music business than that which is portrayed in todays reality contest shows.
Marvellous...great song and performance here...Thank u
Boy I have never seen this despite being a big fan of them from back in the day- great stuff!
Very underrated they should have been huge x.
Pat has an amazing understanding of music. It is rare to hear a singer that can bend the lines so much line he can.

3yrs ago last comment???
oh dear, what a great song..... two fantastic brothers
Class band
amazing !!!
I was 3 when this was on telly. Mum recorded it for me and I watched the episodes over and over again. Still have them on some (very chewed up) VHS tapes. I remember Tanita Tikaram featured on one; and there was Sinitta, Tony Hawke, and Ainsley Harriott as one half of _The Calypso Brothers_! Thank you so much for this!
Mark Pokorný what a brilliant programme for us kids back then .
how many bands; would do what Hue + cry did ....I reckon None .
I saw these guys at a rewind type music festival in Staffordshire a few years they was still sounding great, & like other comments people say. This is quality music, & underestimated. Far better than what we have on offer these days.
Sensational. Beautiful, individual, immediately recognisable voice.
Awesome !!
Yeeeessss!! Love it!!
Love the girl on sax who can't keep still and the other smiley faces. They're absolutely loving it and who wouldn't. Brilliant.
2 boys from Coatbridge (my home town) who cut their teeth and learned their trade in St Augustins and should have got more recognition than they did, great voice (Pat) and great musicianship (Greg)... watch them live on the Renfrew Ferry its fantastic 👍
Great young brass section
This is just fantastic, it must be every singers dream to perform in front of a band like this.
Loved Hue & Cry ❤️
I love this set brilliabtky done
Very underrated band
Seen them edinburgh playhouse years ago brillant l
Great voice,great band
Great to hear this song with a real drumkit. Studioversion uses TR-808 and I always wondered how it would sound with real drums.
909, maybe?
What a voice!
This linda is one of your greatest fans,,i would love to sing with you, would be amazing.
What a Fukin voice,,
I really loved the band , sadly they never got the commercial success they deserved
Pats voice is one of the very best I've ever heard , he really deserved to be a huge star for the whole world to hear it
One of the biggest underrated and in some cases unknown voices , its always made me sad they weren't huge
A truly world class talented voice 👏
I don't think they really wanted that kind o

Blast from the past, aka, The 80's, aka, the greatest era in pop history. Awesome song by the Kane bros and great to see smeg head Craig Charles looking cool on backing vocals too.
Scottish heroes
0:45 The backing singer with shades looks like Craig Charles (Red Dwarf).
It is. He presented the programme.
fantastic more bands should do this !!!
Could'nt agree more
absulity pril from the kids concerning the pressure thgey kids where under xxxx
Genius
❤
what a lush band
Wow.
Scotland's Finest Sons.
Very seldom a persons voice is bigger than a horn section....but then a great song and a great arrangement Brings that all together. Well played every body.
the biggest crime here is 6193 views???? gangnam shiteh 2billion????
Why isn't this show still on? Maybe not on the BBC though. Their reputation precedes them.
I never knew Craig Charles was a backing singer in the past
SuperZedd He was the host of the show. This was the final jam session; the last part of each show that brought all of his guests together in one final blast.
@@markpokorny818 Got it 👍
By the way - this is ace.
Wow !!! The summer of 1988 😮.. Chinos and Slip on shoes and white socks 🤐.. Oh Dear !!!
Snowball 67 chinos are still a very stylish item of clothing that are a staple of any collection. They may look slightly different but they are essentially timeless, as are loafers. I'm not saying you have to like that look but open any summer fashion catalogue or collection and they'll be there in some form. I wore that to high school as a kid and it was a very popular and appreciated look.
Is that Craig Charles on backing vocals with Davey Preston?
Yes, he presented the programme.
I THOUGHT that was Craig Charles on backing vocals!!!
It is
Craig presented the programme.
Snowball 67 __ what's the problem? It was 1988 -- that's how it was. What do you think this lot would all make of this "selfie " generation? That's far worse. There was no social media etc then and life was far nicer. Fashion was also very different. Things change.
's Craig Charles (Red Dwarf) doing as backing singer??
He presented this show.
Had to get himself in on it.
Who wrote this song I wonder? Will google😁 Micheal Buble should borrow it from them.
I Just kistened to the original ( telly performance ) and I find this better somehow....more ``Kick``. Who are the band? Well done kids.
more credit to musians
Who let Craig Charles on backing vocals. He's clearly tone-deaf!! 😂
