Idk if it was intentional but when the Winter Solider shot Captain America’s shield in sync with the song I had to take a minute to collect myself. Great video.
The truth is that it does not remain because the fights in Marvel (like the ones you put) are very choreographed and seem more like a demonstration, in the case of Kingsman, the violence is so chaotic and excessive, that the song coordinates itself but because they have pretty much the same vibe. And in fact the violence in that scene is what it is: pure violence.
I believe that the true thing which makes the kingsman fight isnt the actual chaotic energy of the action, but how the camera "follows" every action, as for example, the camera falls in sync as harry dives at a man, moving up in sinc with harry stepping along the pews, and more. I probably explained this really weird, but what this choice of camera work does is makes you almost feel like your in the fight, and I believe in the video of above, the only action scene that truly works like the kingsman church fight is the captain america and winter soldier fight, as the camera work is very similar, and includes the slight shaky cam that the church fight employs to add energy while still having each action visible.
@@spinosaurusaegypticus8341 Thats what they call a one-take, one-shot or a "oner"; a single continuous shot through a single camera (often multiple takes digitally spliced together). @@arforafro5523 oh thats not what i meant, i know what a one shot is, i was referring to how the camera follows the characters actions, not how the camera never cuts, although both contribute wonderfully
Lmao I’d say the kingsman fight had WAY more choreography going on. You have like 18-30 people all fighting each other and in a way to make the prosthetics look good.
It took three days, a church full of stunt performers and a lot of hidden cuts to film that "one shot" fight scene in Kingsman. It is a true masterpiece of rampant, chaotic violence set to a nearly chaotic piece of music. Marvel fight scenes are just not wild and out-of-control enough to truly capture the reckless ferocity of Freebird. But this was still fun to watch. There are several scenes in Baby Driver that sync the action to the music perfectly as well. Edgar Wright takes his choreography very seriously.
I totally agree with you. Those fights seemed too slow paced and the initial (where the guitar solo starts) was a bit off in those clips in my opinion. Clip 4 and 5 were the best suited clips for this song in this video, even clip 4 the best.
Honestly Winter Soldier might be my favorite Marvel film. It actually feels like a spy thriller movie and is so… *tense* compared to practically every other MCU movie made before or since. It has a maturity to it that I really enjoy.

Honestly, this is a great illustration of how good action editing is rhythmic and good action direction resembles music in the way that it emphasizes phrases, suspense, and resolution. It also helps that action choreography frequently uses a time signature (most often 4/4) to help keep performers’ movements synch up, just like dance.

I don't think it fits really, the reason the church scene in Kingsman fit so well with Free Bird in my opinion if because of how fast paced and chaotic the fight was, I feel these fight scenes are way too slow to fit in.
Good point. I had looked at a few faster-paced ones (for example, the bus fight from Shang Chi and the Ten Rings), but most of them already had loud music playing and I would have had to mute the original track in order for Freebird to be heard without blending with other music and sounding dissonant. Of course, that wouldn’t have been the end of the world, but I really wanted to dig up the fight scenes where I could add in the song without robbing viewers of the sound effects they already knew from the movie.
