For anyone wondering, the chopper has to get really low at 1:14 because the driver went across the landing path of commercial airplanes at the LAX airport. Clever guy, he kept going up and down that same path until he lost the helicopters chasing him. That’s the reason you see so much beach and long-zoom shots, the helicopter had to keep going underneath the no-fly zone and then find the car chase again.
Plot twist: The driver was really jamming to free bird in the radio which is the only reason why the driver is going fast and not noticing that the cops are after the driver.
