Nitecore TM39 Flashlight Kit Review!

- Here is the all new/brand new TM39 flashlight kit from Nitecore! This is a mega thrower. This uses a all new OLED display which is crystal clear that can be viewed and any lighting conditions. The NBP68HD power pack provides all the power you need to run this for extended runtimes. The Luminus SBT-90 Gen. 2 is incredible. The beam clearly out throws my testing area easily. The TM39 beam performance is incredible. Build quality is top notch, this is now my new favorite dedicated thrower passing my TM38 previous favorite. This also available as a TM39 Lite version as well. This is truly a nice step up with 5200 lumens on turbo which is insane amount of light for a thrower. Great video review as always...Nitecore is one of the high end manufacturers and they really shot for the sky with this light...very high tech...out of my price range but awesome light...thanks Charles

Wow. That thing throws fire @ the 200LU setting! I must have.. thanks for another enjoyable review Charles. After a day in this ever evolving world -I look forward to them.

Great review Charles.... Regards from Italy!
Thanks for watching!
Superb thrower...good job to Nitecore. Nice review.
Thanks for watching!
I bought this light. I pointed it up my street and saw the house at the top bright as day. It was two blocks away.
Thanks for watching!
Charles, you are so right about this light. This torch is incredible to say the least. I have the AceBeam K 75 2.0 and I love it because it’s so much fun and so darn good. I never thought I would say that it has an equal although it doesn’t throw quite as long as the K 75 , the TM 39 can hold its turbo an an amazing amount of time. It’s a work of art that’s all I can say and thank you for sending me in the right direction on this incredible light.🔦🔦🔦
YW! Thanks for watching!
Charles you’re the best in the business. That’s my favorite light and I have some really nice throwers. Just the design on this work of art blows my mind. The LED board that sits on top of the light is laid out beautiful. But most important is the beam and it’s capabilities of holding turbo for an amazing amount of time. Like I said, if it wasn’t for you telling me to pull the trigger, it’s an amazing light I probably wouldn’t have, but I am darn happy I did. Getting away from happy new year my friend. Stay healthy buddy.🔦
TY! Happy New Year! Thanks for watching!
Best Review Ever Charles 😎

I own a bunch of Nitecore lights, i rate them highly, just waiting on my copy to arrive. TM28 being my favourite all time light.

On boy another review.
Yes. Thanks for watching!
Great review Charles as usual 😊
Is there any word on an updated Acebeam X70 or the Imalent MS18?
I'm thinking they must be close to announcing some massive lumen monster using these next generation LEDs?
Keep up the excellent content 😊
Not sure about AceBeam. Thanks for watching!
Wow 😯 a great flashlight torch 🔦 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
That thing reminds me of the old spot lights that they used to use when the State Fair was in town. Wow !!!
Thanks for watching!
I remember those they does have that in my country too
Yeah this thing is nuts. It seems to have thermal stepdown set to very conservative 50 C, which means it never really gets too hot to hold even with bare hands. And the passive cooling is so massive it can hold turbo even indoors consistently for over 5 minutes. I'd imagine outdoors it could hold turbo for as long as the battery lasts if the weather is cool enough to keep the light at under 50 C at all times.
It's my favorite thrower. Thanks for watching!
Wow, super Thrower flashlight, great flashlight video, 👍
Thanks for watching!
Hi,
Love your videos, learned a great deal!
Question: at 1500 meters, is the Acebeam k75 alot brighter than the Nitecore tm39?
I've got the tm16gt and r90ts thrower. Do you recommend this product as a good inbetween flashlight?
Thank you,
Victor Nishimoto
Brighter then 5200 lumens, but throwing the light out there is another thing. The TM16GT is a great thrower but more of a combination beam including the R90TS from Imalent. As for dedicated throwers the TM39 is hard to beat in performance and features. Thanks for watching!
Sick...just plain sick..!
Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec my pleasure and you're welcome...!
It’s almost identical to the K75 beam but maybe a little cooler white , the TM39 looks almost like a sci-fi light , I love it.
Thanks for watching!
Yeah k75 has 1,000 more meter beam than this nothing compares to the k75
@@kodyking3090 the additional range on paper doesnt really translate to that in real life. Theyre both great lights but tm39 is a lot more compact and has a lot better runtime.
@@mikeenslin3009 I agree with you. I have both of these lights. I have the K75 2.0. It’s an amazing light. I told that to Charles. But it’s a lot bigger. You have to take the batteries out to charge it . and that’s the newer model of the K 75 2.0. TM 39 it’s runtimes on Turbo is the best in the business . The LED screen is designed beautiful on this light. if I had One thrower light that I can pick from and I have a lot of throwers, it would be the TM 39 as far as I’m concerned it’s the best in the business at least for now.🔦
i have the old tm36 with circular led. nice job.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Charles I always like to gather as much information. When I get an opportunity to pick your brain on your thoughts, it holds a lot of weight. I picked up a bunch of lights just recently I picked up the K 75 2.0 I picked up two of the 3×21D and an L8 from convoy. So I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this very attractive light I just know it’s been out for three years so I wanted to hear it from you.🔦
This with the Luminus SBT90.2 LED really makes this stand out years later. My 10 year old light from Nitecore still are impressive to this day. Thanks for watching!
It’s done I purchased, and I know I will like. I have a couple of Thrunite lights, one being the catapult pro but I just like the beam out of the TM 39.I also like the way the UI is laid out and its LED face layout . They are both great lights but if I had a choice I’ll take the M 35. I didn’t buy the extended tube I chose to go with the shorter tube Batteries just to give the light a little bit more contour. This is definitely a step up from the 3x21D which I happened to love for the price you really can’t beat that light convoy does a great job with their pricing. but I think I’m gonna like this just as much as my K 75 2.0 it won’t throw quite as far but it’s an amazing light. It’s always a pleasure watching your videos and listen to you. Chuckle when you get a good one.
Beautiful light my favorite LED bulb 👍
Thanks for watching!
Have you reviewed the Astrolux MF02S V2/Mateminco MT90?
Im curious if this Nitcore has comparable throw. Ive measured my Astrolux MF02S V2 @ 1800 meters. Thanks for the video.
I have not, but hope to do so. Thanks for watching!
what are run times like on the top two outputs before step down?
Turbo with battery pack is 1.3 hours of runtime. Thanks for watching!
I like the level 4 power and crazy insane
Thanks for watching!
Hi, I have a Nitecore TM26GT which is also one of your favorite lights if I remember correctly. At least is was 2 years ago. The TM26GT is a good combination of a flood flashlight and an thrower. This TM39 is definitely more a thrower, but it has some good spill also I see in this video. Is it worth upgrading my TM26GT to this TM39 do you think? Is the light colour the same? I like the kind of warm/neutral light of the TM26GT. It is warmer than my smaller Nitecore MT10C light.
TM39 is a large flashlight so if you are good with the TM26GT then I would stick with it. The TM26GT is still my all time favorite. Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec Good to know I've made the right choice when buying the TM26GT back then.
Charles, I just want to know if you would recommend this nitecore tm39 over imalent r90c. Give me your opinion. Thank you.
Yes. Hard to beat the Luminus LED in the TM39. But if cost are not a problem I would get the TM39, they also make a "Lite" version as well. Thanks for watching!
@@aggaviriyo790 Yes because one uses a battery pack and the lite version uses four 18650 cells.
So, the K75 exceeds this but this TM39 looks like it almost matches what a K75 would do without the huge size of the head?
I don't have the AceBeam K75 but the TM39 hotspot is nicer and brighter at 5200 lumens. Thanks for watching!
even tho the k75 has a lot more candela on paper i hear everyone saying the tm39 is the way to go if you want a sbt90.2 thrower
Between Nitecore TM39 x Wuben A1 X Fenix LR80R which one would you pick and why? Thanks for the great reviews!!
Not tested the LR80R. The A1 has a different beam than the TM39. So if you want extreme range then the TM39 is the best. The A1 has a nice wide combination beam which is my favorite type of beam. Thanks for watching!
Charles does this flashlight come with the batteries and how do you put the batteries in you haven't showed us
It comes in the version shown with extended battery pack or "Lite Version" short which comes with four 18650 cells. Thanks for watching!
Good review. Indeed not cheap but an amazing thrower. Should be compared with the Astrolux FT03S. Different price category but that throws also a good 1480m. And the TM39 has a very good beam. Well done Nitecore
Thanks Carel for watching!
У меня такой сломался сразу же

Hmm, seems a little off . . .
charles are there any differences between this one, and the lite version about lumens or beam performance ? thanks a lot
No only runtimes are different because the Lite version uses four 18650 cells and weighs less also. Thanks for watching!
Charles BridgTec that's an incredible flashlight thanks a lot !
@@Mappi75 good point

How would the TM39 compare with the Acebeam k75?
I have not tested the K75. Thanks for watching!
Mine suddenly stopped working. It's just been sitting in the box. It worked last week (just turned on for a few seconds, then back off). Now the UI thinks the light is on, but nothing. It's only a few months old.
Battery fully charged? What have you tried to get it to turn on. Warranty is 5 years. Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec yep, shows 4.13v. I also have a TM28 so I swapped battery packs, batteries, battery holders, etc. Weird one.
It's just weird that the UI shows everything is normal. It cycles through the modes, but no light emits.

Glad you enjoyed the featured light. Thanks for watching!
how long does this stay on turbo before step down?
In cold weather it has no real step down. Its a beast. Thanks for watching!
Insane 😀
How hot did it feel after these tests?
Are the batteries removable?
The battery pack batteries are not removable. Not really hot at all, great runtimes. Thanks for watching!
Charlie big question do you think this light is still worth purchasing new for $350. I know the light is three years old and I just wanted to feel you out on your thoughts with the UI and it’s throwing capabilities which look amazing on video.I’m looking to pull the trigger today on this light because as you know, I enjoy throwers and I just wanted to gather your thoughts. It means a lot.
It's top notch but my discount will help you save on it. As for your question is it worth it yes it is. I still highly recommend the TM38 as well. Thanks for watching!
Manker mk38 sft40 is the newer and better option to buy.
@@comraddarmoc5243 You are high....
@@CharlesBridgTec Charles you had me laughing, my friend. And I have to admit I was laughing for quite some time. I do have the SFT 40 from Manker. The original maker I had was the 70.2 which if my memory serves me correct had a 800 m throw. The SFT 40 from Manker has a 1200 m throw. The flood on the SFT is nowhere as good as the flood on the 70.2. But I was not looking for flood with that light. I was looking for more of a throw. And when you compare them you’re talking about 41,500 lm on the 70 point threes to 21,000 lm on the SFT 40. now comparing that Manker to the Nightcore it’s not even close with beam, quality and distance. In fact, Nightcore is downsizing. It’s distance on the TM 39 as far as I’m concerned. From what I’ve read and I have the light measurements were more like 1800 m throw. You and I have been friends for a little bit now and I’m glad I had the opportunity to find you out there my friend. Out of all my lights and I’ve spent close to $7000 I would say just recently between the Nightcore, TM 39/Thumite TN 42 V2/ AceBeam K75/Manker MK35 11. and this Manker MK 35 is a 2000 meter throw, my favorite and the most beautiful looking and beam quality by far and I have them all along with a couple of others like the 3×21D/L8/L7 is the Nitecore TM 39 by far. I have the short body in the YM 39.👍👍👍🔦
@@jlappin6277 Well the Luminus SFT40 LED is excellent but does not outperform the Luminus SBT90.2. The SBT90 and SFT70 are my favorite from Luminus. I just have to laugh at people because of some of their comments. Happy New Year!
Amazing performance. It's both a spot beam and a floodie. Nitecore makes great products.

If they send it to me I would. Thanks for watching!
How is it versus the ms 18 imilant
Total different beam types to compare them. Thanks for watching!
ms18 is only basicially a record light. not much of actual use. the tm39 is a purpose build thrower for long range. ms18 is a floodlight but you will rarely need more than 10k or 20k lumens of floodlight

After using the light after a week I'd like to spit out what I don't like and what it needs.
1.) The buttons. The buttons are rubberized and I can see wear after long term use. I prefer the old buttons on the TM28 better.
2.) The strap rings. I like the idea of the strap but I don't like the rings. After spending $500 for the flashlight the idea of scratching up the finish is unthinkable. Nitecore should come up with a bolt on accessory.
3.) A handle. Nitecore came up with handles for their previous models and not this one. That's a crying shame because this light is big enough to need one. What they should make is one with a bolt on handle and integrate strap D-rings into it so it's slingable.

@@marekkordzik7517 Better value and features including better runtimes on turbo as well to list just a few. Your RT35 is a nice light but an old model. I did a review of it 3 years ago. Hard to beat the Luminus SBT-90.2 LED. Imalent newer models with same LED come closer than the RT35. Just saying.
yeah i mean it depends how much you want to spend but the tm39 is a much better thrower. But it is like that with everything. once you spend more and more money you get diminishing returns
It cost 500 bucks tho 😬
Before my discount. Thanks for watching!
I like the 1 hour 30 minutes on 5000 turbo (IF ITS ACTUALLY TRUE IN THE REAL WORLD USE). I absolutely loath claims like 50,000 or 100,000 lumens these things only hold for a mere 10 seconds - what a load of crock and uselessness for these brands and suppliers. What good is 10 seconds full run???????????? Yeh I can click a cigarette lighter for max lumen and a couple of candela and see stuff but when it burns my thumb its zero lumen and I have to let go and I go into total darkness. I generally gauge run time by high setting rather than turbo. Sorry for the rant but this aspect really peeves me off.

@@CharlesBridgTec still way to expensive for me, its not an Imalent, and does only have 5200 lumens, not 52000 og 5200000, as it should be for that price, if you ask me! It cost more than Acebeam X75, and are way better for that price!
@@sexyme8593 x75 cannot maintain the light output this can plus Nitecore runtimes smoke the x75. Acebeam makes very nice lights but throwers like the TM39 are hard to beat even at the price range.
