We believe that when you book an all-inclusive resort the quality of the food and beverages is a big part of what you are paying for. In today's video we will be walking you through the finer details of the 4 restaurants at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya (formerly Secrets Capri) as well as their bars. The purpose of our channel is to pay it forward so we will share our opinions with you after our weeklong stay here and let you know what you get for your money. Our hope is that the videos on our channel help you decide if this is a resort that should or should not be on the shortlist for your next vacation.
HZRM is a smaller resort of just under 300 rooms, so it is understandable that there are fewer restaurants here than you may be used to at some other resorts.
Restaurants at HZRM are:
El Comedor - buffet.
Tempest - Asian
Capri Grille - Mediterranean
Lola Beach Restaurant and Mezcaleria - Mexican / Seafood
Lola Beach Snack - outdoor spot for lunch
You will need to make a reservation to dine at the sushi bar and the teppanyaki tables at Tempest. Your butler or the Restaurant Concierge will make those for you.
Room Service. You can order room service from the App or your suite phone.

Legends Sports Bar
Social Mixology Bar
Swim up Bar / Pool Bar
Lola Beach bar - beside Lola Beach Snack area
Our favourites:
El Comdor Buffet or Room Service were the only options available for breakfast during our stay.
Lola Beach Snack and Lola Beach were our favourites for lunch. Lola Beach Restaurant was much better for lunch than for dinner, in our opinion.
Tempest Sushi Bar was our favourite spot for dinner. The sushi was fresh and very creative.
The service in the restaurants was hit and miss. Some nights our servers did a great job and other nights they were flustered and made mistakes. It was not difficult to re-order a dish that was forgotten or shuffle around those that went to the wrong person at the table. Overall, we felt that the service needs a bit of polish and more detailed training.
The food overall was average. Some dishes were good and others were mediocre. The lunch was definitely above average. Overall, we enjoyed a lot of the food at Hyatt Zilara Riveria Maya. The four of us unanimously agreed that many of the dishes needed some work in order to compete with other resorts and their restaurants in the same price range. They didn’t have the flavour or quality that we expected with the exception of the sushi counter at Tempest and Lola Beach and Lola Beach snack for lunch which were very good.
Mixology was excellent at HZRM. The cocktails are excellent at this resort and you can tell that the bartenders have been well trained. The resort also offers canned vodka seltzers, Heineken 0%, and Amstel Ultra low calorie beer. Not every beverage or flavour is available all the time. The resort also offers a variety of non-alcoholic mocktails.
The mixology at HZRM is better than at many other resorts. Whomever designed the drink menus and trained the bartenders should be commended because they were consistently great. The options of non-alcoholic cocktails as well as canned seltzers made the drinks at Hyatt memorable.
If they can overhaul the restaurant offerings to match the quality of their drinks then this resort will be able to compete with other resorts in this same price range.

Hi Nancy, great informative video as usual. That's great that you talked about allergies in this video. It reminded me of the doctor that died from her allergies when she was in Florida. I am glad this resort took it seriously! take care
Thank you!!! They did a good job. Not good enough to replace double checking ourselves but definitely better than other resorts we have been to in Mexico. Raven became known as 'Kiwi Girl' but she always knew when they called her that, they remembered.
That was so socking and sad to hear about the lady in Florida and her allergies. Tragic.

I haven't stayed at Ziva yet. We were there when it was Secrets Silversands and we loved it.
May and August are good. June and July are really warm. ☀️
