Great informative video! Coming here soon and this video got me more excited to see it for myself. The view from your second view was absolutely stunning!!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found the video useful. Hopefully the negative points are not enough to put you off. This was our honest and personal experience of this resort, but just because it wasn't perfect for us, doesn't mean it can't be for you. Hope you enjoy it!
First started listening, couldn’t stand your glum accent. Slowly realised you are the best hotel reviewer I’ve ever watched hahaha! Wouldn’t normally subscribe to this sort of channel but now following. Go Gilbert’s!
Hi, such a helpful, informative video, thank you. How did you find the Interconnecting door in the room? Did you hear next door? We have booked for October, and looking to choose a room. Thanks..
This is why you Go Diamond Club. Example: regular room and Diamond club member make a 7pm reservation. Both groups arrive at same time, Diamond club will get seated first. Now, say another diamond club member has a 7:30pm they will skip you as well. This is how you have a two hour Wait. Also diamond club get better sheets, pillows, more variety on room service menu. A butler to go make your dinner reservations, private section on the beach as well as a private bar with top shelf Alcohol, and about $150 in spa credit. Plus access to the Ro Brazilian restaurant This hotel has 1,000 rooms, only 350 I believe are Diamond club. So please if you go to Any Royalton get the Diamond Club. But great video I’ll hit that thumbs up 👍🏾
Thanks for the positive feedback, I hope you enjoyed. Having already spent quite a lot of money for the 4 of us to travel here from England, to upgrade to Diamond Club, it would have cost the price of booking another cheaper vacation for us. We travelled to Planet Hollywood Cancun the year before without being Star Class, and we had a great time there without it. So we never felt any need to spend a lot more than we already had done to upgrade to Diamond Club for this resort.
Personally we preferred Planet Hollywood, I'm currently putting a video together comparing both resorts, it's just taking a little longer than expected because I didn't have a RUclips channel at the time we went to Planet Hollywood, so didn't film much content there. Hoping to have it on my channel this weekend 👍
Thank you for sharing these vlogs they are so informative. We are looking at going to Mexico for the first time and I read that you need to tip the bartenders and waiting staff for them to give you the time of day - did you find this was the case?
Hi, thanks for watching, I'm glad you found it useful. As for tipping, you will get some bartenders who won't give you the time of day if you don't tip, and others that are just happy to serve you regardless. We tended to tip a dollar each time we got drinks though, which most of the workers seemed grateful for
Nice Video, I have a loaded question. How is it with your kids there? My wife and two kids never been to a resort and i plan on taking them here. my kids would be 4 and 8. any suggestions on what i need to bring?
Great question, my children are 4 and 8 too. Make sure you bring plenty of sun cream for them, your own refillable cups and some inflatables for the pool. I hope you all have the best time!
Hi, the first room that we had was in building 13, although I can't remember the room number. We then got moved to building 11, room number 11410. I hope this helps 🙂
From another review,it was mentioned that no reservation needed to all restaurant except the Zen , is that tight? When were there that there’s no queue for the restaurants?
I think it depends on how busy the hotel is at the time you go. The Zen restaurant was usually quite busy, but the night we went was quite late so it wasn't much of a wait. The night we went to the smoke house though, we got given a buzzer and waited around 2 hours even though we were initially told it would be about 30 mins. I hope this helps
@@adventureswiththegilberts thanks for your reply….when were u there? I m looking at this resort for our annual family vacation…we were at Serenade Punta Cana last April.
Hi, thanks for watching. They did not seem to be strict on dress code, a lot of nights I would just wear shorts and T shirts, like many others, with no issues. I think it would just be frowned upon if you tried to enter the restaurants in swimwear
Same here, that's another reason I wasn't pleased with the first room they gave us after paying extra for a ocean front room, I expected what you said. An ocean view room is a room on the sides of the hotel facing inwards. They class any room with a balcony facing the beach as ocean front, regardless of how far away you are from the beach 😂
Hi, we went here end of May, beginning of June last year. The hotel only opened in December 2022, so had only been open for 6 months when we arrived. There is another hotel next door called Royalton Riviera which has been open for many years though, you may have confused it with that one
It was definitely December 2022 it opened. We were following the progress of the building works up until it opened and were worried incase it didn't open in time for our holiday. They had actually been building it for many years because it was a different chain of hotels originally, then everything stopped and was left as an empty shell of a building until Marriott, who own the likes of Royalton and Planet Hollywood, eventually bought it and finished of the works to open as the Royalton Splash
@@adventureswiththegilberts I think my confusion was the small difference in the names yes. We are going to the Royalton Riviera Cancun, not the Splash, I thought they were sort of the same property. Are they completely separate? Like you can't go from one to the other if you are staying at one of them?
Hi i have never been to Cancun and just watch ya vlog me and wife are very fussy eaters how will we got on food wise apart from that it looks great what about night life out of resort is it safe to go out cheers
Hi! Thanks for watching! To be honest, I don't think that being a fussy is going to be a problem here, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, so you should always find something that you will like! As for night life outside of the resort, this hotel is NOT in the hotel zone, so there is not much around in terms of night life. You could get a taxi into the hotel zone, but from my understand, they are not cheap! As for it being safe, when we visited, we did not leave the resort, mainly because we have 2 young children and it just seemed too much like hard work. If you do head into the hotel zone, I would suggest to just be careful and stay in tourist areas.
Just returned after 4 days at this resort. I would say pack your patience when you arrive because this place definitely runs on Mexican time. Overall it’s a nice resort, but would I go back? The short answer is No. Main reasons: 1) Food mediocre and sometimes just lousy. The steakhouse was a big disappointment. Meat that was overcooked and almost inedible. Our waiter screwed up our order and we never saw him again to complain. 2) Main shows on the stage are overall meh. If you like lip syncing and weird choreography this may be for you though. 3) Careless housekeeping, forgetting to restock the fridge. Our k cup coffee maker didn’t work so we called for a replacement. They brought a regular coffee maker but no coffee. They never once took our dirty wine glasses from the room. 3) Shady areas are hard to come by. If you love the relentless sun then you will be happy here. My two cents.
The hotel only opened in December 2022, so they're definitely not dated. You may be mixed up with the Royalton Riviera, which is next door to the Royalton Splash, and has been open for quite a few years
Dude... You give sooo much detail. I'm watching all your vids. You really make people think before they choose. Thanks
Thank you for watching, I hope you've found it helpful 👍

Very helpful video we’re going in september
Glad it was helpful!
We're planning on going in September as well.
I literally booked it tonight, not knowing there were gators there.🤦🏾♂️ Has there ever been a incident with the gators and humans?
How are the water slides? I heard several injuries were occurring on them?
I go into more detail about the waterslides in part 2, which you will find on our channel 👍
@@adventureswiththegilberts thanks
whats best time to go
Good video and information

How many swim up bars were there for non diamond club members
Thanks for watching, for non Diamond Club, It was 2 swim up bars 🍹

Which room is actually facing and is close to the ocean? Ocean front or ocean view?
So Oceanfront is the one closer to the ocean. What was the first room you got considered?
The hotel classed them both as ocean front 😐
@@adventureswiththegilberts weird. I would’ve thought front meant right at the ocean. So what’s ocean view? lol
