  • Recently I had the amazing opportunity to work with my friends at Raycom Productions on a couple of little projects. This is the first of which, a little video explaining a little about Flemish twist bowstrings and how I got started with Grizzly Strings.

Grizz taught me the basics of archery, but most importantly he taught me to appreciate a simple day of shooting in the woods. I feel like buying some sweet strings and swag is the least I can do. Probably some nice autumn colours.

So proud that you're still doing so well, mate. The string you made for me ages ago is still shooting beautifully. Thank you for your time and effort and heart. Much love.

Jim, I really enjoy your videos. I picked up trad archery again after a 25 year absence from the sport. You, Greg, Jeff, NuSensei and Armin Hirmer have all taught me so much from watching you guys online. I recently ordered a string and some coffee from you and are really looking forward to receiving them. I saw reveiws from you and NuSensei on the Crowned Eagle by Harvey Archery. I messaged Warrick and a month later I had my bow. It is beautiful and shoots very nicely. I know several of you guys shoot 3 under, but I've always shot split finger. Last evening I tried 3 under and was amazed at how much tighter my groups got. I'm going to practice this for a few days and see what happens. Thank you giving us knowledge and entertainment at the same time. Stay safe and maybe after this pandemic is over I can link up with you somewhere in Europe and shoot with you .

Maybe sometime you could do your viewers a treat by walking us through making a string an throwing in some of your tricks. Thanks for your videos, Shoot straight!

Also was wondering what the best bowstrings for vintage bows are?
When my Ben Pearson bow broke the string ran right through the limb about 3" down I'm guessing the string was too hard or new for the vintage bow.

I ordered a string from you today, for a 60" Bear Kodiak Hunter 50# in green and black. Do you make all of your strings Flemish Twists? If so---awesome. The bow belonged to my Dad. He passed away on August 26 of this year. I was in the middle of refurbishing the bow for him when he passed. I've been a subscriber on your channel for about 2 years now, maybe more. My Dad enjoyed watching with me, and he was excited when I said I was getting a Grizzly String. I'm keeping my word.

Thank you for sharing that was me buddy,
I’m genuinely sorry to hear about your dad passing. It will be an honour to make a string for that bow!
Yes all my strings are Flemish twist!
      Thank you for watching

Out of all the different string you make what string would you choose for a 58 amo great plains sr swift recurve? The most durable and longest lasting one?

Very nice! I have a question for you. I have two antique recurves, one is a 1962 Bear Grizzly and the other one was made in the 70’s or 80’s and is a Ben Pearson Rogue. I have always read that you have to use a Dacron string for old bows. Is there any truth to that? I an from across the pond in Pennsylvania. I really enjoy your videos, thank you for the awesome content. I hope that you and your family are all well over there. God Bless

I would say with vintage bows that is always best err on the side of caution. A lot of bows that were made back then weren’t intended to have modern high-performance material used on them.
      Thanks for watching buddy
