Foreign? The Queen was born here and her mother was of Scottish heritage; the Bowes-Lyon family is descended from the Royal House of Scotland. Our royals, alongside their aristocratic brethren, are not full German or 'foreign' - most Brits, particularly in England, are of German heritage due to ancestors who migrated here from Saxony (modern day northern Germany) between 400 and 1000BCE, prior to the Norman invasion here (themselves Norse in origin). Over 30% of British people have German genetics. We also share many ancient DNA markers with the French, with around 40% of British having those genetics. Other Brits have Danish markers too (from the Vikings). Have you heard the term 'Anglo-Saxon'? Perhaps you should look up where that originates from. Despite our historic wars with Germany we share ancient bloodlines. Also, we consider people who are born here as 'British', so the fact that you would state our monarch was not a true Brit and 'foreign' due to her mixed European heritage is not something modern Britons would take kindly to - many British subjects have families from other nations but whom were born here and, by definition and legal right, are British. In short, the Queen and her family are probably no more German, genetically, than most white British people (particularly those in England, where most invasions took place and where foreign genetic markers made the most impact). We are not 'Little Englanders' and are far more continental in our DNA than many presume - much like the Royals themselves. The UK is made up of four nations and the Commonwealth have even more diversity - the Queen was a figure head for us all. Arm yourself with a few facts, first, before exposing your knowledge on so little and insulting nations of peoples.
Agreed, he’s humble and a real gentleman. I loved watching him when he played because not only was he a great footballer, but also a great teammate. He is the same in his personal life.

Just the simplicity and genuineness of their behaviour at the Casket is awe inspiring. Beckham bowed and for the first time I cried. He did what I would have done had I been able to go. Ive lived in London. Between that and the countless hours of video Ive watched on You tube over the years about the Royal Family I feel a sense of connection and admiration.
I am 6000 miles away from my home country and I can only watch this on BBC streaming. But seeing the heartfelt reactions of the people paying their respects after queueing for hours in rain and cold weather brings home what we really felt for The Queen. Even though our own reactions took many of us by surprise. Though we may have criticized her in the past, the Queen was essentially the spearhead of our identity as a nation. This small island nation unconquered since 1066. I celebrated her coronation. She was not perfect. Nobody is. But she kept her vow of duty and service right to the end. And she did her best.
Talmadge1926: Interesting to say that the Queen was the spearhead of "our identity as a nation", yet apparently you live now thousands of miles away from the UK! Ironic that, as you seem to have deserted "our nation" to live elsewhere! Anyhoo, you also add that the Queen "did her best". I'd say she did better than that and that the UK is not likely to have another monarch as outstanding and committed as she was, and certainly Harry could only dream of being as loyal and committed to the royal family and the UK as she was, given that he and his manipulator, Me Me Me Meghan, pretty much trashed the royals and decamped to Vancouver/California as soon as they could - oh, while still expecting the UK taxpayers to foot the bill for protection for themselves!). Shame on those two (and Andrew) for adding to the Queen's woes in her final months. What an obnoxious, annoying, self-serving trio. 😞

David Beckham never ceases to impress me, but this vaults him to such a level of respect, patriotism, and humility and care that I didn’t even know existed within myself or others. He is a mold from which future men should be cast, that’s for sure!
German royal family not British

Ironic that, as you seem to have deserted "our nation" to live elsewhere! Anyhoo, you also add that the Queen "did her best". I'd say she did better than that and that the UK is not likely to have another monarch as outstanding and committed as she was, and certainly Harry could only dream of being as loyal and committed to the royal family and the UK as she was, given that he and his manipulator, Me Me Me Meghan, pretty much trashed the royals and decamped to Vancouver/California as soon as they could - oh, while still expecting the UK taxpayers to foot the bill for protection for themselves!). He is a rare kind of man. That's❤ why we love him!!!
