Got it two days ago. Now I’m trying to figure out how to budget for it. Phenomenal. Most impressive thing was leaving Target, navigating from a parking spot then through a busy Target parking lot, finding its way perfectly through a maze of traffic islands and aggressive Saturday morning drivers. So cool. And it will only get better.
Way to go Kev. I'm surprised no one ever tries their fsd. We cried for it and when it came out a few people made videos of it and that was it. No one uses it out of fear except if they are making videos of it.
The caution at the beginning is the full NHTSA stop. 99% of drivers do not stop to 0 before proceeding at a stop sign. Normally people only stop when there is an oncoming car. Otherwise it is a rolling stop.
It looks like you did not have the auto set speed turned on (if you turn it on, you'll see the word "Auto" above the max speed setting) - if you did turn on that cool feature, it would not drive as fast through your residential areas and will also try to drive at an appropriate speed (like staying with the flow of traffic, in general) - try it! It actually works relatively well, IMHO - Tesla and the Tesla FSD team just totally rocks - in fact, our personalized plate on our Model Y Performance is "TSLA RX" ... and it's now more true than ever - this will be the year that folks wake up and realize that FSD is going to have its "ChatGPT" moment ... cool! Thanks for making the video ... your camera placement was very good - some folks just don't know how to position their camera properly, but you clearly know better ... and good commentary, too - thanks, again!
I loved my trial as well. Some minor issues like the car waiting last minute to change lanes in preparation for turns. Maybe its just me. I like doing tgings ahead of time
I used it today from my house to Ontario airport on the 60 freeway.. i had to intervene when i was exiting because another was car merging into the same lane, i allowed the other car to take it and right after resumed FSD..so it was pretty good!!
The very limited rear vision of our Tesla's kinda scares me at times when it tries to change lanes like it doesn't see far enough hence doesn't realize how fast the vehicle behind is approaching.
Imho even this beta version is worth 12k bugs. Other car makers do sell you audio upgrades for that price and theses don't even sound as good as Teslas stock audio system.
@@kevinwoodroboticsis there anything to do to get it faster, or maybe a setting to get it at all ? My garage has good WiFi so not sure what’s up. I did notice an advanced button on the software page. Should I have that turned on?
If you keep you left hand resting on wheel, the resistance of that will stop some of the nag. You can also wear sunglasses to stop the nag for not keeping your eyes looking forwards.
@@kevinwoodrobotics well there was a slight issue reported to tesla that involved version 12 user and a minor accident in a parking lot in California. It wasn’t a big deal only a bumper bump but Tesla has paused the updates since then. Also version 12 was reportedly only supposed to be released for west coast drivers supposedly just California for now. So anywhere in the state of California can get the update. I am west coast but not California and my MY3 still sitting at v11. I can’t use it because the family gets terrified with it’s erratic behavior. Like ghost breaking or collision alarms when it doesn’t make sense. I had free FSD for 3 months and just ended soon but maybe only used it a dozen times (mostly when I was driving alone).
Mine still sucks. 12.3.3 Doesn't even know it's left and right. Keeps putting on the right blinker and turning right on left hand turns. Keeps driving in the turning lanes and bike lanes. Tries to go straight in turn lanes. Goes 10 in a 45 with no one around. Takes way too long to make lane changes. Mine is still very dangerous.
@@kevinwoodrobotics.. how do you qualify and quantify "pretty good"? What could have been better that would instead qualify it as "very good"? The details are vitally important at this point. Appreciate your video!

Yeah I think of prices dropped there would be much more adoption, but yeah excited to see where the technology takes us
same here. After having it for a few days, it's hard to go back.. Wish its a bit cheaper, like 8K then its a no brainer.
how much does it cost a month? i am from europe and have no tesla :D
@@d4rkside84 It's 200 dollars a month in the us. They said it's coming to Europe this year. (I guess it's gonna be next year)
I tested my Tesla with this latest update in an unprotected left turn, so far it did pretty good with no steering wheel jerk. Good job Tesla.
Oh nice!!

Yeah some moments can feel a little scary still but overall pretty impressive

Oh yeah I think that’s why some of the reverse option is not supported probably for the same reason
You're in my neighborhood! And I just got the latest version today. Exciting!
Yeah that’s awesome
That was impressive!
Yeah!
I’m still scared to use it because the speed is kinda fast for me.
You can try lowering the speed limit and try the chill mode
after boasting it for 10 years, tesla finally get some real self driving out there
Yeah much more difficult than anticipated

I recently looked at a Ford, the package for Emergency Braking and Cruise Control was like $1.500

There’s an option to be in aggressive mode
Great video
Thanks!
I have the 2024 Model 3. Still no update ( I think) I see 2024.2.7 so I think that is the same as I’ve had

Is it still California residents who get it now?
