I SHOT IT: Rare European Black Fox || 17HMR || HIKMICRO TQ50

  • The European red fox was introduced into Australia in 1870s for recreational hunting. Fast forward to 2022 and they are one of our worst invasive pest species. Foxes have contributed to regional declines and extinctions of a wide range of native animals, particularly among medium-sized ground-dwelling and semi-arboreal mammals, ground-nesting birds and freshwater turtles. As a result they are a targeted animal for a vertebrate pest control contract shooter such as myself.
The black fox shot in this video is a European red fox. But they can revert to a trait of the silver fox this being a 0.1% chance. It is not a cross breed with a domestic dog or anything odd like that. This is just a very rare genetic throwback making the animal black.

I'm an Australian but now living in Phnom Penh Cambodia
My parents owned a sugar cane farm in Cairns, we had a huge problem with foxes,
    Back in the 1970s
As Foxes are from the canidae family or Canine Family, 100% pure Chocolate as used in baking, but not the chips you can buy it in block size,
A fox needs to eat a piece the size of a human thumb,
100% pure cocoa Baking chocolate is only fatal to the Canine Family, so will affect the Australian Dingo, so if you have Dingos on your property you can't lay chocolate bait,
We found that no human contact with the chocolate, so use a mask and gloves when opening the chocolate breaking it into thumb size pieces and laying it around your property,
100% pure Cocoa chocolate, gives all Canines a heart attack, with a few minutes, we use to lay the chocolate in a cross or star shape, go out the next morning and find the foxes that had eaten it and had a heart attack and died,
So it's something you can do research on.
Chocolate only affects the Canine Family no other wildlife if affected, but if you have family pet dogs then make sure they are housed before the chocolate baiting just before sunset and check the area after sunrise and remove all the chocolate that hasn't been eaten, only if you have family pets dogs if you don't then leave the chocolate out,
With wild feline family as in wild cats, use the common headache tablets Asprin, dissolve 3 tablets in a table spoon of boiling water crush the tablets into dust then add to the boiling water let cool and add to a saucer of milk or car hub cap you need more tablets and more milk, this gives the felines (cats) a heart attack, but won't affect any other animals or wildlife same with 100% chocolate only affects the Canine family not other wildlife or animal are affected,
Back in the 1970s/1980s in the sugar cane farm we were fox and wild cats free, but still had a huge problem with wild pigs and shooting was the only way with wild pigs, yes we tried chocolate, they loved it, always came back for more so we just waited they soon showed up,
Best of luck live your videos love your talking about everything no music, you have a great channel,
As I said before, you do your own research on above and see if you have results,

Nice job Nathan. About 2 years ago I had a unique fox experience. It was about 6am, cold with some mist about. I had made a coffee and walked up our driveway to the highest point on our property. I was sitting on a wooden bench and was checking my phone messages and fb. At some point I felt that something was nearby. I slowly turned my head and there was a fox, large as life, sitting not 5 meters from me. We made eye contact and it scared the shit out of both of us at the same time…lol. The fox took off at a great rate of knots and to this day I have never ever left the house yard without my gun!

I think it helps us viewers to fully grasp the enormity of your work. RUclips's censorious threats to demonetise real videos is a joke when it is saturated with and actively promotes clickbait videos clearly infringing on copyright and has blatantly deceptive content.

Really enjoy your content. I'm on a sheep farm in western Victoria and walked up to 2 foxes, a red one and grey / black fox one night competing over a dead lamb. I had a big torch on them the whole time and crept up to around 10mt from them both. The red one left first and the grey one then took over eating the carcass. Of course I didn't have the gun or my phone but an amazing experience. I stepped a bit closer and the grey / black fox then decided to wonder off. The next night they were back but shy of the light this time.

Good and enjoyable video Nathan,.. especially that " black fox". I quoted " black fox" because here in Canada and up north, ( a long way from me ) my Father-in-law, who spent
his life as a hunter, trapper, etc. in Labrador, would call that one a "silver fox" as the tips of it's hair/fur were white, as you can see here. Now according to my Father-in-law, ( back in the 1970's ) the skin/fur of silver foxes was quote valuable ( depending of course on the condition ) at some $700CAD ( again, at that time ).
This is the second time in my life that I've seen a fox like this one.
I always appreciate the work you do in getting and producing your videos, so for this I say, Thank you!

Easy on the "Hippies" BS. Some of us "Hippies" like to hunt, fish & believe that feral species should NOT be existing for an area They don't belong in. Got to thank your "Landed People" for bringing those species in to be able to have them to hunt. Of course those foxes needed some rabbits to live off of also.
People tend to release their animals when they can no longer support them or they become monetarily a drag. Think Camels, Goats, cats & any of the other ones PEOPLE are responsible for.

My uncle shot an albino fox around 20 foot up In a Gumtree and we actually get quite a few black ones down this way at bottom tip of South Australia. We get 10 bucks for the scalp, we've 'entered' quite a few darker foxs.

Yes a fox killed 23 chickens in my secure hen run plus two guinea fowl by beheading them all in one night, we found out it managed to slip under the metal gate by scrapping at the earth until it could slip beneath, imagine the damage to our wildlife. I found a fox den once by accident and saw half a dozen platypus bills littered about, needless to say the fox was taken care of. Great video appreciate your work.👍
