Well mate, I've got to say a big thankyou for putting such a fantastic comment up. It obviously takes a bit of commitment and time away from actual hunting to put these videos together. It is often quite frustrating but at the same time rewarding. Filming our hunts was something I have done for a while and just kept them private. I was reluctant at the beginning to make some of them public but with a bit of encouragement from the boys that is what I did a few years back. Thank you so much for protecting our wildlife! Biodiversity loss is at an all time high, and any help to mitigate the damages caused by European foxes, rabbits, and other pests is a blessing. You are doing Australia a great service!
Your videos keep getting more & more professional - well done! When quadding up to a calling location, do you park right at the spot or walk some distance prior to calling? Do you want the quad out of sight from where the fox is likely to come? On another point, you may want to try with a constant electronic call while quadding around - which often makes them look towards it (even over the motor noise) & the eyeshine reveals them (or use your T2 if you have the lungs for it!).
The yellow reed whistle on the side sounds like a baby magpie, which are high up on the prey item list at this time year for the fox. Nice video, Robbo and Leigh.
We believe it actually gives off a variety of different tones and with a little practice you can make it sound like a fox pup in distress. 90% of the foxes shot using this call were whelping vixens. Very unusual to be able to drag them out of the dens at this stage. So quite impressed.
Yeah, righto. Might have to add this one to the ever growing collection of whistles in the shooting box. Have you got a link for purchase, Robbo? Reckon I might do some fox pro calling this arvo.......

He's pretty deadly with that .222. We have been making our own Tenterfield whistles for a very long time and this is probably the only thing I would actually take over ours at the moment. Never thought the wheel could be reinvented in this situation but they are a very unique little whistle.
All in a days work Billie. I am surprised this video has actually caught on over in the UK. I would be interested in knowing where and how you came across our video. If you have a link that would be much appreciated. Thanks again for watching
Great videos fellas, I bought one of those t2s off the back of these videos, giving it a go tonight. I like the handlebar rests on your quads, did you get them made or can you buy them from somewhere
Cheers Mark. Make sure you keep us updated on your progress with the T2. Have you perfected the Tenterfield side of it and what did you think of the tone on both? The handlebar rests are something I made myself out of some 20mm Steel conduit. I talk in depth on my Quad setup here if you are interested. ruclips.net/video/6reywt0Hm6c/видео.html
Yep, I'll keep you posted on how it performs, definitely sounds like it should. I'll have a look at your quad setup , looking for a few ideas for mine. I'll have to track down an old set of barkbusters for the bar inserts. Good on ya, Cheers@@BoltActionProductions
Just reread your reply, I've got a grip on tenterfield type whisles, this one is maybe a bit deeper tone than the silva but still got the raspy type sound but I reckon the reed tube type is spot on and should do well
The old Sako’s are certainly worth their weight in gold. Red-Bellied Blake snakes mate. Venomous but far from our worst. They keep the rodents at bay👍👍. Thanks for watching
Great shooting, but I would sooner use the electric calls these days as I can’t stand blowing or sucking on mouth calls as it’s dried my mouth out lol but they do the trick and I have used them for many years
Bolt-Action Productions it’s just a personal preference for me but it’s not the same as when using the mouth calls as there is an art to using them, I also used to use mouth on you hand to call foxes in and I suppose you have done this plenty of times
Actually the Australian government does. Paying hunters a bounty to help control the ecological damage caused to our native species by the introduction of the European Red Fox. Do your homework before making judgement🙄
If your question relates to what we do with the Fox once it has been shot that is quite simple. Its scalp is removed and handed in to our government organisation that credit us $10 for every fox that we remove from the Australian Ecology. Thanks for watching.
The Red Fox is an introduced species into Australia and unless their numbers are controlled they will play a big part in the extinction of some of our native animals. Our government realise's the role hunters can play in helping to keep the numbers in check and offer a $10 bounty per scalp. You can read up a little more on the issue here if you choose. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_foxes_in_Australia
Probably got as much chance of that happening as we have of people educating themselves before making comment regarding the issues faced with the introduced European Fox in Australia. Thanks for watching.
AV WATCHMEN I think I hear your mommie calling you for dinner. Better put down your game controller and go upstairs for a bite before resuming your game.
Av watchmen, they already do. Sometimes it’s a fake baby crying to lure in women to sexually assault, kill, or human traffic. That said, wouldn’t work very well on a bushman.
Great work guys , I think your right Steve , The 222 is ,in my opinion the best caliber ever made for foxes , you can load em up with talcum powder and they still shoot ,any weight projectile ,inherently accurate. Its always good seeing a bit of wildlife, I dont mind those blackones but those other coloured bastards especially the ones with brown stripes on them ! I dont like.. keep up the good work .
Cheers mate. Yes the .222 Sako was my go to rifle for foxes for many years. Black snakes are pretty placid if you leave them alone. Very interesting to watch them.
Loved this vid chaps .made me laugh so many times .ur a couple years older than myself and my hunting buddy and we will be out boxingday calling foxes and having a laugh (no snakes here tho) well there are the odd adder but u never see them
I squeak foxes to around 25 to 50 yds with just my lips when shooting them the squeak is similar to an injured Rabbit or Stoat / weasel and has worked for many many years up our way ..We had terrible trouble with em with Grouse chicks!
Which country you are from ? As far as I know that hunting is banned world wide. If there is any country where this ban is not implied please inform. Thanks.
I am not sure where you are getting your information from but hunting is certainly not banned world wide and in many countries it plays a big part in the local infrastructure. Fox hunting in Australia is certainly not banned and as this animal has been introduced there is a bounty on their head in some states. The introduction of the European Fox in Australia is having a major impact on some of our native animals and without some control on their numbers many of these natives will reach extinction. Hunting is one form of control and I can assure you it is far better than some of the alternatives like 1080 etc.

I'm not sure what your point is here or if you just feel like questioning our integrity. Our native birds are only part of what the fox will feast on and of course this is an issue for all Australians including us. Do we care? Of course we do. Don't you? If you do your research you will find that many other ground dwelling natives are vulnerable to both cats and foxes. The damaged caused during lambing season can be horrific and have a massive impact on our farming community. Realistically we will never completely remove the fox from Australia but we at least need to control their numbers where we can.
Few things, I'm wondering.. How foxes doesn't hear your talking. How foxes are movin on clear daylight? I have tried this about 35 times, and seen fox only once. It was quite dark that time. Still keep trying!
Getting the wind right is the key so the foxes don't hear you or smell you. Pretty simple really. By moving from one location to another and whistling during the day we often wake the foxes out of their beds. This has proven very successful over the years. Thanks for watching and good luck with it mate.
The call we were mainly using in this video was a T2 and it can be purchased in Australia from here. foxcalls.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=72

Leigh is on the mark this morning , isn't he? Well done!
Great video and apparently excellent calls too. Thanks again Steve.
He's pretty deadly with that .222. We have been making our own Tenterfield whistles for a very long time and this is probably the only thing I would actually take over ours at the moment. Never thought the wheel could be reinvented in this situation but they are a very unique little whistle.

Just reread your reply, I've got a grip on tenterfield type whisles, this one is maybe a bit deeper tone than the silva but still got the raspy type sound but I reckon the reed tube type is spot on and should do well
Go get em brother.

A Fox

What a treasure you have in that fine old Sako. The snakes I can do without. Were those cobra's?

a lot of people are talking good things about those whistles Stevo,be good to see how the others go
What do you do with the fox when you kill them? This is not hate and I understand that they are pests in your land
Our government pays $10 per Fox scalp
@@BoltActionProductions huh, ok
Great shooting, but I would sooner use the electric calls these days as I can’t stand blowing or sucking on mouth calls as it’s dried my mouth out lol but they do the trick and I have used them for many years
The electronic callers certainly have their place but I can still get the Tenterfield style whistle to carry a greater distance.
Bolt-Action Productions it’s just a personal preference for me but it’s not the same as when using the mouth calls as there is an art to using them, I also used to use mouth on you hand to call foxes in and I suppose you have done this plenty of times
Who gives you right to kill that innocent animals
Actually the Australian government does. Paying hunters a bounty to help control the ecological damage caused to our native species by the introduction of the European Red Fox. Do your homework before making judgement🙄
Super👌👌👍🏾 i am Indian students sir and super hunt🙏🤜
We just do our part to help control the introduced European Fox to Australia.
When this wild dog was shot dead, what should I do with it?
If your question relates to what we do with the Fox once it has been shot that is quite simple. Its scalp is removed and handed in to our government organisation that credit us $10 for every fox that we remove from the Australian Ecology. Thanks for watching.
Monty Python of hunting equivalent, keep up the good work 😂!
Thanks mate. Will try our best
My name is actually Quentin Deen in real life
G’day Quentin👍
watched again and a closer look revealed something I missed before. the stock. gorgeous.
Certainly a classic era
Are the foxes a nuisance or do you eat them?
The Red Fox is an introduced species into Australia and unless their numbers are controlled they will play a big part in the extinction of some of our native animals. Our government realise's the role hunters can play in helping to keep the numbers in check and offer a $10 bounty per scalp. You can read up a little more on the issue here if you choose. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_foxes_in_Australia

Maybe one day someone will have a whistle to do a human call and when you come out the bushes....BAMMMMMMMM...
@@BoltActionProductions extremely well said. Keep up the good work.
Oh god..l that would be brutal XD
Av watchmen, they already do. Sometimes it’s a fake baby crying to lure in women to sexually assault, kill, or human traffic. That said, wouldn’t work very well on a bushman.
Miss the magpie calls down under.
I have a few different calls similar to that on my Icotec. Never had a huge success with these in our locations.
My dog absolutely loves you
I am not sure whether this is a good or bad thing. LOL. Thanks for watching and give your dog a pat from me.

Curiosity killed the fox.
Certainly does
I like the bars you have on the quads. How did you make those?
Just a bent bit of steel 20mm conduit covered in rubber and Lycra. I talk more in-depth about my whole bike setup here. ruclips.net/video/6reywt0Hm6c/видео.html. I hope it gives you some ideas. Thanks for watching mate👍👍
Mind if I ask what shooting sticks those are?
No not at all Josh but I wish I could help. They are "Stoney Point Steady Stix" which I believe are no longer available.

Mate I found some just like it and they are called Primos Pole Cat Steady Stix. I got them from Horsley Park GS for about $70. They're great. (No pouch though) ....and I just saw them Aliexpress for $32USD delivered :/
Thanks mate. I do have a set of the those and they are pretty good. I would say the original steady stix are a little better as they are a more positive fit in the joints. Get onto Leigh as he can make you a leather scabbard for those sticks if you want it.
Do you eat the fox or use the furs ??
No we don't eat them. The European Red Fox is an introduced species into Australia and one of the biggest predators of some of our native species. Our government pays hunters $10 for every fox scalp.
I like it!

Come on man..do you really care about bird life?
I just love the background music..
