Thanks Matt. We use to do so much whistling and spotlighting but of recent that has died off a little. I wish I had some of today's camera gear with me many years ago. It certainly was a top day out and the new callers certainly added a new dimension. Never have we called out so many whelping vixens out of their dens. A very productive day in the end. Cheers Chris. The shooting sticks we use are "Stoney Point Steady Stix" but I believe they are no longer manufactured. Primos also make them and I believe they are still available.
I use there KOD only one that works where I live not any luck with the tentifield. But the KOD works a treat and you can have it in your mouth no hands and be on the gun

I am personally not a big fan of Gaiters either but I do like them for keeping the burs out. I have tried a few and don't like the stiffness of many. The KUIU gaiters are what I wear now and I like there flexibility. Best for me at this stage..........
Most fox calling whistle will call cats in so I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to call a feral cat in. I have called in quite a few with the Tenterfield.

I bought a set of the Primos about a year ago. The basic design is the same but they aren't as good as the original Steady Stix especially in the leg section. Much looser fit. I find I still go back to my Steady Stix and I am glad I bought a few sets when they were available. I just wish I bought the carbon fiber version as well

I think foxes are native to Europe. You may need to check protection laws or open season before hunting. In Australia, they were introduced and are an invasive species to the wildlife and livestock. I will say this, if my government allowed me to hunt foxes because they were invasive, geez Louise, I'd be in the fur business.

Change of call to the Mini Meanie did the job of bringing her in. I think she was pretty pissed off the rabbit holed up on her and she didn't want to go home empty handed. We were certainly surprised with the amount of Whelping Vixens that came into the trumpet part of the T2. Definitely something that caught their interest.

We have done fox drives during winter with dogs but often they are more trouble than they are worth. You wouldn't hunt with dogs this time of year anyway as they wouldn't last long.

Tom I use to skin them all the time but I don't think I was that quick but then again I never really timed it. When we were doing a lot we would use a compressor air hose inserted into the back leg to lift the skin off the flesh. Not essential but it did speed up the process. We only scalp them now for the bounty but I do take the odd winter coat that is a standout. Queens birthday use to be the start of the skin season for us. Glad you enjoyed the video. C'mon any rifle that doesn't come out of my safe doesn't stay in the safe for long. I use to burn out barrels faster than look at them years ago. I was up for my 4th .222 not that long ago and decided to go with a .204 just for something different. First time in almost 40yrs I haven't owned a .22 centerfire.
I'll go out on a limb here and answer the second part of your question first. I don't think I would feel anything as I would be dead and if we have anything to do with it I can assure you it will be as close to instantaneous as possible. Far better than any poison which is an alternative often used when shooting isn't a viable option. Our aim when shooting any animal is a quick humane death. Now to the first part of your question. In Australia the fox is an introduced species that if left unchecked will not only push many of our native animals to extinction but also impact our farming industry immensely. The impact of the fox in Australia has been and will continue to be horrendous if we make emotional decisions instead of basing them on facts. These facts have driven our government to the point that they realise how the recreational hunter can play a big part on saving our native wildlife and help our farming industry.
