  • Kia has launched the new 2023 Kia K5 here in Korea last month, so if you are watching from N. America, it should be considered as the 2024 year model. So, throughout this review, we will cover what has changed for the new Kia K5 and also drive it, because it has been awhile. Just like its counterpart Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5 is based on the all-new third-generation platform. Without any further due, let’s drive the new Kia K5 and see how attractive it is against the competition such as Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

    Part of me wishes the US models got the digital guage cluster with the blind spot camera system but at the same time I love the physical guages. Canada gets the digital cluster in the GT model. It's weird how different the options are for every market.

    • @stevewise1656

      They should offer that everywhere. Wonder if that's a consequence of the chip shortage.

      @@stevewise1656 Could be... I know the 2023 EX went up in price over the 2022 and almost nothing changed. So the digital guage cluster would just make the price go up too.

    Hi Charrlie thanks watching... Glad to hear you say Sonata will be around a long time. I love my Sonata. The Kia is always an option. I am sort of waiting for Ioniq6 and to see what they do with Sonata . My 2006 LX V6 with now 205K mi still runs great so I have time to observe. I sure wish Hyundai would lead Fuel Cell adoption in CA

Still wish Kia offered a lsd option on the 2.5T petrol found in the GT here, but that is about it as far as cons. Only the Honda Accord out performs it as far as driving dynamics which is high praise as the Accord is fantastic

    Heard they had a more advanced Navigation system. Surprisingly you didn't show that on your night drive. I find more and more people who do these reviews. Never type in a location settings. So we could get a better understanding how the improvements in this area's are better then previous years. Have you ever typed in a location for a doctor's address you've never been to before. That's in a shopping area or a office location that's in a multi suite business park. Most GPS Navigation systems never get you exactly where you need to be. I would honestly like to see someone point that out during their reviews. Because it would make the difference in lots of ways to know which vehicle can find it's way out of a paper bag...

  • @BlazinNSoul
    @BlazinNSoul Год назад +3

    It's a shame this car along with the Stinger are likely getting canceled. The Stinger once people find out just how good it is. It's going to reach Classic status at some point I have no doubt.
    As to the K5 I have the 2022 GT-Line model. While not the fire breathing dragon of it's bigger brother The GT. It is still a fantastic car and is also the only K5 with AWD at this time that I'm aware of.
    I do believe the GT-Line may survive in some electric crossover hybrid. Which is the rumor at least which i hope is true. However it was well worth the 35K I paid for it.
    KiA is definitely on the right track these days. Producing some great vehicles which I would have never given a thought to a decade ago. The EV6 will lively be my next purchase if all goes well. :b

      @BlazinNSoul Год назад

      @@Mickieshelton With all due respect that might only apply in Canada. 🇨🇦 There was no mention of any major changes in the 2023 models that i'm aware of.
      Outside the K5 LXS & Stinger being discontinued which will end production in December. The GT-Line is the only K5 in US with AWD at the moment.
      If you have an EX in AWD I would be curious where you got it? The GT I would have suspected to be AWD but it doesn't have it either.
      You have to jump up to the Stinger which comes in both RWD/AWD trims. The EX is nice but I prefer the GT-Line's more aggressive styling & AWD which comes standard.
      The interior not as nice as EX for sure in base trim but premium package upgrade makes up for it. Both are great options though as can't go wrong either way!! :)

They simply were out a lot faster. KIA is known to have problems whit high oil consumptions on relativ new cars whit small turbo morors. Always go for the buggest motor if you'r a long term owner is my recomendation.
