Reliable..easy to do repairs..my dad sold a lot of them over a 45 yrs..in business..R.I.P. he would be 96 yrs old today..he sold his last one in 1991..
I was a floor man, but my job was also wall tile and kitchen tops. When our job was slow they loaned me out to the Air con company next door. I worked two weeks doing nothing but fixing leaks. I hated it.
Big job, mamma! Love that you installed the filter drier inside. Have two piles of York on my house. Both of my driers were installed outside by original technician. The upstairs drier rusted through in May. New one was installed inside, out of the weather. Cost me $800 for labor, filter drier, and 410A refrigerant. Yeeha!
Holy sh** did you get taken. 800 to change a drier plus materials is unheard of, not unless access was a total nightmare. That job if they are inclined and accessible should be about 475 total.
Very nice. That lineset had to be a pain in the keister. What unit was that; I thought you liked Goodman? If you lived in the Civilized Lands of the South I would have liked for you to have installed ours; hopefully it won't leak, but I think they left at least one cap off on the outside; I'm going to put a brass one on it.
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍. Steve, a question, when you recover refrigerant from a system, is it reusable or considered contaminated? Thanks!
Would cleaning the line set with R-11 work instead of a change out ? I have a "zoned" HVAC set up. Upstairs unit and another serving the main floor. Running new line sets .🤔
That is a actelyene B tank with a jet torch tip. Very popular with plumbers, though Steve is using the Stay Brite 8, he also uses brazing rod. Propane is barely hot enough to braze with. Propane also generates less then 10% thermal energy, actelyene produces 40% thermal energy. The flame cone is much more controlled with actelyene as opposed to propane. Propane is also more acidic as opposed to actelyene.
@@potatolew4495 i know acetalyne is better its what i use. ive just heard steve say in his videos that he uses propane for soldering. steve doesnt do much brazing these days
I'll be Steve for a second. Steve: "That flippin' R32 is a pain in the ass. They say that shit is combustible and can catch fire! These environmentalists are always trying to reinvent the wheel and end up making it worse. Big dumb dumbs!"
He is obviously experienced and an expert at his job but I dont get this video. Its not instructional,he doesnt bother to explain each step,or why he does things this way...I am fascinated by HVAC and I watch to understand how to interact with service techs when I have a problem but I cant learn anything here. Its just running commentary no context. I do enjoy watching him work though, wish I was competent like he is.
Anyone lucky enough to get a brand new system installed by Steve. That’s definitely some quality work!!
Amazing old school tradesman. Can put in a complete HVAC system alone. 👍
I love that StayBrite 8.
Nice job as usual and that was a big one too ... Happy Birthday you young Whippersnapper
That was a tough one. A crawlspace without access is not a good idea
Yeah, That`s why firemen carry those big demolition axes with the spike and blade.
It's code where I'm from to have access panels
The fact you did it yourself makes you a super tech 😂
Tough one on that line set good job Steve next level
Steve, this is really great work. You're very knowledgeable with your trades.
Thanks for video Steven and Happy Birthday!
Great job as always Steve.
We changed a evaporator today !!😊
Remodeling that building messed everything up. Created a lot more work for you.
I have the same unit at my house. Works great.
It's a Reem..love it.

Yes hugh job, it would of been nice to seen more of it, say installing the unit, taking the old one out, in first part, and this for the second half.
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍
Happy birthday.
Steve your awesome i like your videos.
Not sure what a TXV is but Steve tells every time how it regulates. He’s the man!
Good job Steven.
Nice install
Awesome video Steve, that's a good days work! 💥✌️👍☝️💯
Great work Steve.
Good job, there Steve.
Great job Steve.
Good job Steve! That line set was a bear!
Good job steve.

Great Job Steve. I learn something new each and every time I watch one of your videos.
Howdy Steve and Molly
PROFESSIONAL LOOKING JOB. GREAT JOB STEVE.
Someone razz you about the cylinder color? Wild...I'm just a proish DIY guy and knew 410a can come in whiteish cylinders.
Hello Steve!
Hey Steve, what size line set did you run, 3/4"? How about flushing out the original lineset . . . would that have worked? Thanks for your videos.
I like the stay Brite 8
Nice work
Create new upgrade, good job, putting in and paying attention to detail look forward to more videos as you got them Steve
Steven, maybe that guy is color blind 😂😂😂
Great Job 👍
Gotta make sure them gaps are tight 😂 yeah mama

@@potatolew4495 Yep. That’s what the techs in my area charge. Absolutely way too much.

I didn’t even realize 410a systems were even still available. I thought all systems by now had converted to R32.
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍. Steve, a question, when you recover refrigerant from a system, is it reusable or considered contaminated? Thanks!
You can only use recovered refrigerant in the same system it was recovered from, otherwise it must be recycled.
You can only use reclaimed refrigerant at the same location, meaning if they have several systems you can use it any of them.
@@billywest629 yes, this is true, I should be been more articulate in my comment.
Who’s looking forward to the new propane systems?

why didn't the bulb go inside ?
What do you think of Soft Starters on A/C units? Are they worth it? Do they help?
Are bristol compressors good?
noisey as hell
Hey Steve, what type of gas do you use on your torch?
propane

would it be better to run R32?

Goodman's are great! Parts are very easy to get.

It's a great trade to be in. I make six figures and live in Naples Florida. I work for myself and rarely work over 30 hours a week.
I know you're a plumber.
But is it okay to use stay bright instead of silver solder
Their product website lists it for this purpose, so why not?
pretty sure all the new tanks are grey now i could be wrong on that
Brazing is a skill this is ac not water, learn the skill or be a plumber
