    Love the way you're keeping it real and showing the reality of HVAC service calls. Sometimes it just sucks what the client decides to do but, as you say, they're the client and it's what they're prepared to pay for.
    By the way, those were some great condenser shots in the video! Have you considered doing some as high resolution stills on your people can download as wallpaper? It would be cool, nerdy and fun at the same time for real HVAC fans!

    When so,some goes on vacation they spend thousands for an experience. Not a physical item. This homeowner is spending a couple of thousand for the same thing. An experience. A cool house during a party he is throwing. Having said that, stores make money by selling things. Some sell food, some sell cars, some sell clothes. The difference between their wholesale cost and the retail price a customer pays is their gross profit. No better way to make money in the trades on physical inventory, and refrigerant and sealant are two of those. 15# is a home run in my book. You only have a limited amount of,time you can charge for, but inventory is limitless. Nicely done once again.

    What you did was the only available option to get this customer thru the weekend and his party on Sunday! Installing a new system on such short notice is impossible and simply unrealistic especially on a weekend with supply houses closed.👍

    HVAC Unit from 2016 with a five (5) year Warranty ? If I was having a Party, I would load that Unit with the Refrigerant and Pray it Holds until Bosch is Installed. 👍🙏

    you have not lived until you work on a 1234YF system. if there is a leak you can't add refrigerant until the leak is fixed! The machine will not let you!

      You can add manually, its not advised because its so expensive, but i have a guy that has me charge his Camry up every summer. His compressor is leaking and Toyota denied warranty-it was less than 50 miles past the term. Compressor is only available from dealer unless you gamble with a reman or a Chinese unit and is over $1,000.

    Comfortmaker is one of the many brands manufactured under ICP. Carrier bought them out 20 or so years ago. I would consider Comfortmaker a builders grade system, about the same as Payne-usually the only thing that changes with the higher end of a particular line is the duration of the warranty and the badging. I personally prefer a Carrier, but they have their problems like any i guess.

  • @garysmith9772
    @garysmith9772 6 месяцев назад +1

    15 pounds times $50 a pound equals $750 +4 hours at $250 an hour equals $1000. Leaks seal $150 so you’re at $1900. Makes me sick to think that a 7 year-old machine is leaking already.

    Most evap. Coils are only tested at 250psi at the factory because over pressurizing them can cause leaks. Or at least that is what I see on the stickers on the coils sometimes.

    Maybe a dumb question ❓ when a furnace is unsafe legally it gets shut down , Ari conditioner is unsafe we let it run what are your thoughts.

    • @JSATI
      @JSATI 6 месяцев назад

      A gas furnace can be red tagged due to carbon monoxide. You will not experience that if you have an electric furnace like heat pump and electric back up heat. There is no real safety concern for refrigerant leak. Slightly bad for the environment-maybe

    I have a system that has a leak. They ran the line set in the wall when they built the house and it all leaked out. What do you think about that leak seal and stuff? Does it work with your professional opinion? I was looking at the EC ultimate same type of stuff you use on your website with your honest opinion of it. The coil has a leak. He needs a new system like you said

    • @robertsmith2956
      @robertsmith2956 6 месяцев назад

      he addressed it in another vid. Sometimes it will, and sometimes it doesn't. I would think copper pipe would probably fall under the later. Small leak wouldn't be normal for the pipe. Unless you got "lucky" and they have a seam in it from two pieces, or the nail from the picture hanger is blocking most of the hole. Leak is large enough a thermal camera may locate it from the cold spot in the wall.

      Is the leak confirmed to be the lineset? Depending on the age of the equipment, I would determine which route I'd go. Newer equipment with confirmed leak in the buried lineset.I'd run a new lineset exposed and hidden by some Line Hide.
      Middle-aged equipment with undetermined leak location. I would isolate each component of the system. Do a pressure test on each component. Repair the leaky component. Older system I'd replace every single component. Do not reuse the old lineset. I'd never add leak sealant in a system.

    No way the system pulled to 300 microns with a leak. All that did was suck air into the coil. 😂
