My wife and I just got back from this resort it was gorgeous. The building and grounds are luxurious. The staff is fantastic. The room was excellent. The food and drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend it. We went late FEB 2023 and I recognize many of the staff shown in the video. We wanted a relaxing vacation without noise or crowds or commotion and this hotel fit the bill perfectly.
If you want a quiet relaxing all inclusive resort you should check out iberostar tucan. It’s in playacar too but super upscale as an all inclusive. The food is delicious and the resort isn’t crazy wild
In this area: Our fave budget resort is the platinum princess Yucatán. Def stay on the platinum side though and get a swim up. It’s an adults only as well and part of a mega resort like a Bahia or a riu. However, it doesn’t feel as “factory.” Def recommend y’all check it out.
Been to this resort twice. Did not find any negatives actually. I’ve been to many 5 star resorts in many countries and this one for some reason does not feel “budget”. Great resort in the most beautiful part of Riviera Maya with a gorgeous beach and friendly staff. Very clean too. If you like relaxing vacation this is for you.
Great video! Visiting Xcaret Arte next month and very excited. Looking into going back to the area next year with my 14 year old daughter….what is your recommendation on the best family friendly all inclusive in the area?
Your videos are super helpful! I’m planning my destination wedding for 2024 and have been doing a lot of research on all-inclusives in the area. Originally I was set on Barceló Maya Riviera, but after seeing that there isn’t much nightlife there I’m having second thoughts. My main concerns are probably nightlife, good food, and comfortable beds/working AC (I’m with you, that’s a dealbreaker!) Any thoughts based on the Mexico resorts you’ve experienced?
Did you check out my Breathless video or Valentin? Those are definitely top notch resorts and had great nightlife. Let us know if you need any help booking your trip ❤️
@@HeatherTravelsXO I did check those out! Breathless looks amazing but I think it’s a bit out of budget for us. And thank you so much! I definitely will 😊
Great review, Riu staff and their attention to detail is really impressive. Always cleaning. The experience is what matters, but yeah my Texas butt wants cold a/c!
This is actually one of our favorite resorts in Riviera Maya. Sleep great (we think the beds are very comfortable), the staff are amazing (we've been 6 times so they know us), and we think the food is really great. I would disagree that teenagers would like it (much more of a 40+ vibe in our opinion.) They do have more variations of beer than just Dos Equis (just have to ask). We've never had issues with our air conditioning. The area of your second room is our absolute favorite. Can't beat the location, the beach and the staff!
It’s definitely a good property by no means am I saying it’s not but I will always share pros and cons in my videos! And again everyone’s experience and opinions are different ☺️ We did ask about more beer options and that is what we were told on our stay. We stayed here three weeks ago end of September 2022. And I mentioned that this property would be good for graduating seniors because of the nightlife being close at Playa. I think it’s better for an older crowd vs younger kids like I said. Great that you guys love it and continue to go back!
Love this!! Do you have any video reviews on Ibeostar Quetzal?? Trying to decide between Iberostar and this one. Which do you think is better for couples/23 year olds?
@@HeatherTravelsXO Thank you!! I just emailed you guys. I definitely need some advice about where to book.. was wondering if you had any ideas. Appreciate it!
Hi there! So we would need to know the dates your looking at as well as how many adults will be traveling to get a price! The price I shared was for 3 nights in October. You can email at t.powell@dreamvacations.com for price quotes :)
Nice video.🙂Just question.when you was there on the beach party? Which day was coconut fiesta party??? Wednesday or Thursday? I'm looking one guy Miguel and I saw your video and I found him🙃 he is on station with coconut🙂 Really nice guy and he worked before at riu yukatan.I have a plan on November be there
I enjoy watching your videos so much! I love how you break them down. I was actually in Playa end of Sept too. And I’m doing Cancun in Dec. I like the quality/budget friendly resorts cuz that allows us to visit a few times a year by stretching our budget. Just curious, I see you guys visiting Cancun and vicinity often, have you thought about reviewing resorts in Vallarta or Los Cabos or nah? 😉
Thank you so much! We would love to try Cabo eventually but I have several more places around the Cancun area I want to hit up first! Cabo is a lot more pricier so we wouldn’t be able to venture there as much as Cancun and then Puerto Vallarta just hasn’t impressed me because of the beaches but maybe I need to look more into it!
hey Heather, great video...! we went to Breathless cancun July 2021, was not a great trip, food was average, but the biggest turn off was the fact that all the employee's expected a tip, is this the case her at the RIU? not apose to tipping, just not use to it doing it at a ALL-INCLUSIVE...
Love your videos! I know in another comment you mentioned the Valentin. Which was by far one of our favorite resorts! But we are planning a wedding for 2024 and we need it to be kid friendly 😞 and a little cheaper! Any recommendations??? We love nightlife!
Hi Heather my adult son and I are booked for Cancun end of Oct for 8 days Our priority is good service , quiet pools prefer with hot tubs any where great food quality and choice Seen reviews of Moon palace and Grand , which are expensive in Canadian $ will palace if price drops Also deciding between Barcelo palace / river is maya AO and Riu palace mujeres or Bahia principe akumal Prefer to stay away from Cancun please help us decide or any other options in similar budget range thank you
Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you could recommend a spot for a group of 8 guys who would like an all inclusive where the resort is on the beach! We definitely are looking for the lowest price. Wondering how you got riu palace so cheap. Thanks for you help!
I would definitely go with an adults only property. Not sure what you guys are looking for in a resort but temptations is a known hot spot for a guys trip. My husband is a TA so he gets emails when resorts are having good specials so as soon as we noticed the price drop we booked it! Hi, We’re Canadians and have been to many Riu hotels. We’ve gone to Riu Republica, Riu Reggae, Riu Las Americanos and this past March the new Riu Latino. Now, I’m looking for a place for my family ranging from my kids in 20’s,4 in their 50s and 4 Grandparents in 80s. Don’t want to break the Bank for a mid August trip.
Absolutely not! Lol We loved our time at Barcelo & Iberostar! Much bigger pools, more food options, and a lot more amenities! I think it comes down to people who are wanting to be close to Playa…like within walking distance. Riu isn’t a bad one but just too small for me personally. I felt like we were on top of people a lot.
@@HeatherTravelsXO The thing with me is I have my vacation time and Feb is great for Cancun but want to find something for early October. Not sure if it's hurricane season there or not. Was thinking of a Riu All-Inclusive if I go to Cabo. Maybe I'll do Cancun twice. Will see.
I love every last one of your travel vlogs and I take your word as gospel. We booked the Barcelo Maya per your recommendation and our family had a great time.
