"pretty please, with sugar on top... clean the fucken car" - such a satisfying line
Use that one at work all the time
Can’t wait to say that line to my kids when they’re older. “Pretty please with sugar on top...clean your fucking room”
This is sarcastic too
*Fuckin*
@Patrick Whelpley my fav comment of my evening cheers for that (chuckling)..... :) "the garage is 2mins away i'll be there in 1"
Jimmy's transformation from berating his friend Jules over and over to hero-worshipping the Wolf is just hilarious.
Saved his marriage though
I think that's how Quentin Tarantino is in real life
Well, Vincent's little fuck-up almost cost Jimmy his marriage and his freedom whereas the Wolf is there to unfuck it as fast as possible, so he might be thinking that some civility and respect is well-earned.
HEY guys Mr. Wolf is a specialist. There's not too many of those around town. It is what it is.

I fucking love Mr Wolf. The fact that he’s there for Vincent, helping him clean up the shitshow he created, and after V has the audacity to ask for a please, he still keeps his cool, and just talks to him like a primary school teacher talking to a kid who thinks they’re tough shit. Such amazing writing
That's what makes him the only REALLY cool person in the entire movie. All the others screw up some kind of way:
Vince is a stupid loudmouth who got away lucky too often, Jules is mostly badass but the false bible verse and his plan to become a homeless weirdo... , Marcellus the big Gangsta King who can't even keep his ass virgin, Mia pretty smart & sexy but tries drugs she just found in a stranger's pocket, Butch is tough but mentally unstable and has a bad risk management, ...
But the Wolf?
Nothing can un-cool the Wolf!

@@jamessamuals5697 I agree and was thinking that too. It's such a dumb line which ruins all this careful planning, but hey Quentin can't be perfect
@@jamessamuals5697 honestly I feel like that was done intentionally to show how even though he is a perfect businessman, he gets excited when the job is almost done. its like a kid getting out of school, he was giving it his best but only because he knew it was a job worth doing well, and as it was starting to end, he was getting excited. you can see him start to act a bit more eccentric at the car park, like he let loose

Vincent simply has a dumb nerve to be rude and ungrateful, and probably lucky Wolf still has some patience left. He has that vibe that tells me that disobeying him would be a big mistake.
Vince saying "a please would be nice" is the most perfect line, it describes his charachter perfectly
fsggf jsgg Definately. And even though it’s the most stupid thing to say at that particular moment, I could have said it as well, since I hate people barking orders at me. “Problem with authority” is what it’s called I think... although it depends (a lot) on who says it. One thing’s for sure: I am glad I was never in the military. Lol
Yeah, A douche bag.
@@christopher1800 I get what you are saying, but as The Wolf says time is of the essence and really Jules/Vincent should be absolutely devoted to getting out of there ASAP and with respect to Jimmy from both (nobody wants to fuck up his life because it will expose them as well). Winston Wolf even explains himself saying it's not personal, he's not trying to be a dick but they are so up against the clock that manners need to go out the window for the sake of what needs to be done. Anyone that has ever worked a high stress, high pressure job understands what this all means. As long as you can all laugh and joke and relate and be chill when it's over then it's all good.

I see you're really fun at the parties...
Keitel gives an amazing performance, especially in this scene. The lines he was given from the script were all delivered flawlessly, and his improv skills are impeccable. One of the industry's most under rated character actors.
He is fantastic when he does the movie acting. And I agree he is amazing in this scene just like his main character Larry/Mr White in Reservoir Dogs.
I realize on second viewing, that Vincent is almost incompetent, he is bumbling and unprofessional. You see it in his date with Mia, he is awkward for most of the date. He also does very little during the scene with brett. And during this scene he clearly has no idea or regard about the severity of the situation.
Well, what do you expect from a heroin addict?
Smallchannel#100000 I understand what you are saying but Vince never seemed to be the talking type jewels on the other hand never seems to be at a loss for words so I would imagine if you are the quiet type and you are in a situation that requires somebody to thoroughly explain the drastic situation that they are in it's probably best that you the silent type don't say anything but that's just my opinion.

Gotta love how Jimmy is more cooperative and less hostile with Wolf than Jules. And it isn't that Vincent is incompetent, merely that he doesn't think things through as much as Jules does.
charles gebhart Jimmy is cooperative because he is quite fearful that Bonnie will come home and find a dead n---er in the garage.
Also Jules was the problem and the wolf was the solution.
Not thinking things through, especially in this kind of work, is incompetent.
No one messes with the wolf.
Well, Vincent is dead for a reason, he even screamed like a bitch when Butch "I'm American, honey. Our names don't mean shit" put him out of his misery.
Vince is like that one kid in school who everyone thought was smart because he sat next to the actually smart kid
That's disturbingly specific
"a please would be nice"
Vincent ur the 1 that got all of you into this mess in the first place and you ask for him to say please
Precisely.
That's what makes it a great scene for the audience because we're all sitting there going "This is YOUR fault, Vincent, damn dude!" And then when we all say something like to ourselves we realize how invested in the movie we are because we're actually mad at a character. That's great writing and directing.
Vincent is an idiot
So, pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fucking car.
Ponyyish Its an old saying that was used primarily by children to politely or rather cunningly ask for something.
When I was young and saw this movie for the first time I used to think Vincent was so cool, now I realize he's the biggest bumbling idiot buffoon on the face of this Earth and he fucks shit up for everyone, but that's also what makes him my favorite character in cinema.

Jules made a whole big deal out of Jimmy's good coffee. Which upset him
But when The Wolf gets his coffee at 1:30 he shows that he likes it and doesn't make a big deal about it. Great way to show how much of a pro he is
Wolf one minute: “time is a factor”
Wolf next minute: takes valuable time to let Jimmy know he likes his coffee
Wolf stops everything for a split second to appreciate the coffee. Nevermind the dead kid in the backseat... What a great moment!! LOL
Especially that there was an argument just a few moments before and Jimmy had scolded Jules for phonily complimenting the coffee. Mr Wolf showed his genuine appreciation of the coffee with such class and dignity.
I mean this is just a masterpiece. The actors' chemistry, the dialogue, the camera angles, the lighting. Jeez, talk about talent, you don't learn this anywhere it's just a god-given gift.
The script alone is worth an Oscar and a Nobel Prize and an Olympic Medal all wrapped into one.
Just the type of person you need in a crisis situation. Someone cool calm and collected who can size the situation up and rectify it perfectly step by step.
The Wolf...we all need him at some point.

Vincent is that one friend in your life that can either make your life complicated or interesting depending on your personal perception. Though in this scene I'd say makes it more complicated.
Vincent got them into such an avoidable situation, a guy comes to help and then has the cheek to ask to say "please". 😂
All he had to do was not shoot Marvin in the face
This movie is perfect. Every scene is so incredibly entertaining and flows very naturally that it feels like the movies is 80 minutes long, while it's actually 148 minutes long.
"Get it straight, buster. I'm not here to say please, I'm here to tell you what to do."
XD That is so funny
"So pretty please, with sugar on top. Clean the f**king car."
What an amazing time for movie making! The 1990s were the last great decade!
Movies were good until about 2005 then HBO AMC for the next 10 and now nada
I don't know about HBO, but AMC has gone down the toilet.
And yet one of the highest rated films on IMDb is a film from 2009, the dark knight.
For the L.A music scene too. It was over after the 1990's ended.
The 90s were the last decade with its own style and identity. Music was better too.
I mean, how? How in an iconic movie with so many iconic characters, scenes, story lines and quotes did Harvey Keitel roll in here and produce my absolute favorite scene of the entire film? Not only is there not a weak or wasted character anywhere in this film, but the flow is so good that even a “subordinate” character like Wolf can take center stage, putting Vincent and Jules in the background and it doesn’t feel forced or contrived. Everything is in service of Wolf. The few lines he doesn’t speak are mostly there just to set him up for his next sequence. And it works so beautifully. Fucking amazing
The BALLS on Vincent to ask Wolfe to say please after this whole situation is his fault to begin with is... well damn
The way he acknowledges the coffee Andrew jimmys speech just makes this awsome
"All those little pieces of brain and skull" like it's crumbs on a carpet or something 😂

One of the finest movies ever made.
I love Mr. Kietel's character in this film. He reminds me of an IT manager I once worked for. "...Boys get to work..., time is a factor." Vincent wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree. No surprise that "Butch" caught up with him. He DID sucker Jules into "brain detail" though. Smart move.
the script is so funny and sharp, the characters are fun, what actor wouldn't say yes to it unless they had another thing going on? It's no wonder they got who they got to be in it
Vincent is the Liam Gallagher of the LA underworld.
Stroppy, lazy, rude, arrogant, starts arguments over nothing, thinks he’s cleverer than he actually is, is always prepared to hurt someone for no reason, and is only really concerned with looking cool and getting his hands on as many drugs as possible.

Seemed like a pretty simple plan. Jules and Vincent couldn't figure this shit out on their own?
For most people, I think its easier to have someone lay everything out on the table in deadly stressful situations like this. Not everyone can just naturally lead with confidence that things will work out.
I will say that it is odd though, that even two gangsters had issues getting rid of 1 dead body when its their job. I guess they were just that freaked out.
Meh, they were hired guns. I’m thinking Marcellus had connections for just about every situation, and the Wolf was his “problem solver” when stuff like this happened.
Well when your in a situation like that I think you wouldn't really know what to do, because you'd probably be so focused on the problem.

Mr wolf you are awesome
This is where the non-linear structure of the film reveals its genius. The audience has already seen Vincent gunned down by Butch. The audience may feel a bit bad for Vincent, but this entire episode, particularly Vincent's ingratitude to The Wolf who was there only to help THEM, re-orients the entire story towards Vincent not realizing how many times he avoids disaster and not heeding the divine miracle that Jules interpreted correctly. Jules could have even told Vincent later "Without me as your partner, your ass is as dead as fried chicken, within 72 hours. You just can't get by without me.".
People talking about Harvey Keitel here but the look Jules gives here to Vincent, when he says Don't give me that look I know it. Priceless acting by Sam Jackson.
