Hey, how did you get netflix to play on androud tv, it dosent work. It keeps saying the feature isnr supported. It can do youtube but netflix. Also volume control from google home to android tv is crap.
Does this work with tvs that have built in android tv and or Google TV ?
Any help would be appreciated. I've set up the new nest and linked my Netflix account and TV, (Sony). When I request google to play something via Netflix on the TV, it goes through the initial routine, agreeing that it will do so. However it then immediately states "Sorry I can't play Netflix on Android TV yet, try using your remote instead"
I'm stumped as to what the issue is as everything is on Google's ecosystem. Any help pointers would be great. Cheers!

I think that's the best we're going to get until it's properly fixed. Haven't tried this yet but hope it works out 🤞
I was having the same issue. Even though I could cast to my Sony TV I found that the TV wasn't showing up as a part of my devices within the Google Home App. To add it as a device make sure the the built-in Chromecast setting is enabled on the TV, then go to your home app and click the settings (gear icon) on the main page. Next go to Rooms and Devices you should be able to assign your Sony TV to a room. This will move it to your Home and enable all of the supported features e.g. use TV to control smart lights etc. For some reason the Android TV creates its own "Home" in a sense during setup even if you use the same Google account and so it just needs to moved from that "Home" to the one you have already set up in the mobile app. I hope that helps!

I don't understand what is wrong with my google home. It won't show my nvidia shield on google home other than to cast music to it. I can't add the Nvidia shield as a device. It doesn't link when I log into my account. My old shield worked perfectly, I just got the 2019 nvidia shield pro and now I can't search plex or netflix on nvidia shield with google assistant it doesn't make any sense to me.
I am not able to skip or open apps in my android tv. However i can pause/play in netflix but not able to skip as shown in the video. Can u help me in that
Can you get that done with a real Android TV (not an Android box)? 'Cause it seems impossible...
with my philips android tv it sometimes works but it doesn't work if the tv has been turned off for 8 hours or so.
Yeah to control it, link your google home to the TV and it will pair it up.
@@AlexMihalceaHalcea you could try adding one of those IR smart remotes just to turn on the tv and then use the regular androidTV commands integration
@@stefansson11 thanks mate! However the issue remains that after about 8 hrs or so the tv goes into 'deep sleep' where it can only be turned on with its remote. In a shorter timeframe it works well with 'hey google turn on the tv' or directly casting from the phone to it.
So either way, the remote is needed. Have tried turning it on with the android tv remote app and the same behaviour, the tv is not found.
So clearly that 'deep sleep' is in play.
@@AlexMihalceaHalcea mh ok i was just saying because that's a totally different protocol, in fact the remote is almost surely working with IR, that's why i was suggesting an IR smart remote

I already paired my google home (phone) in my mibox S. However, when i try to do voice commands (in my phone), the google assistant cant pair with the mibox or is not responding to the commands.

Yes, the Google Nest Mini is the Google Home Mini but it's the 2nd generation.
Does the shield tv power on with a Google home command?
By chance, do you know how to delete/unlink the Shield from the Google Home? I have 8 Shields on the list and at the end of the day I only have 1. When I give a command to be completed on the shield, it gives me an error since "it doesn't know" which Shield I'm referring to

I recently bought the MiBox S and I have a Google home mini...I repeated exactly the same steps you mentioned...but I'm unable to control Netflix from my Google home mini...a keep getting the message "sorry I can't play Netflix on Android TV yet" any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening?? Yeah, go to the Google Home app and go to Link Netflix (If not do this other step.). go to settings and then scroll to TV & Video, link Netflix and done!
No option to choose default TV for me. My TV is on ethernet. But you say it needs to be on the same wifi. Well my ethernet is the same network as the Wifi. Does this matter ?
And in answer to my own question. No - nothing to do with ethernet and wifi - I was just looking in the wrong place in google home. You need to look for "default TV" on the settings for you google home mini device. YOu are changing the settings on it so that it will know what TV you are referring to when you ask it to do stuff. You are not changing the settings on the TV device

HELP NEEDED. Hi All! We have 3 Home Mini's, which we've been using for over 2 years now. Since late June my Huawei P30 Pro lost all casting functionality and features to inact with the Mini, unless I use VLC (with no volume functions). Been trying to find answers online, but no luck. My wife's iPhone and brother's Samsung works perfectly. I think I just answered my own question 😳😭

The mini is just casting through the shield right? It's not actually running the apps that are on the shield itself.
No its not using the native or built in apps, its just casting through. Same with music, like Spotify.

You can, on the home screen right next to wifi is inputs, or you can press menu on your remote.
