The CZ Shadow 2 in 9mm would crush this list. Unbelievable accuracy, light trigger pull in DA, super fast trigger pull (pushing 3 lbs.) in SA, not to mention hardly any felt recoil. CZ knocked this one out of the park!

Good thread/debate/back and forth comments and opinions you've got going here; I only own the following 3 pistols included with dates purchased (all new from local gun shops in California):
    1. Beretta 92fs inox...June 1991
    2. Sig P226 X-5 Competition
    9mm...Nov 2014
    3. CZ 75 Tactical Sport 40 cal ...
    March 2017
By no means, any way or any how, am I any kind of authority on this matter, except through my own personal experience; my preferred handgun out of the 3 I own is the Sig p226 x-5 competition. To me it's the most accurate and ergonomic pistol. Shot after shot, it feels as if it just gets back on target like magic (almost by itself).

I see all the comments about Beretta,,,,,,I have to agree. Should have been on this list. I worked with the Sheriff's dept for some time and started out with the Glock. By family tradition, being in love with the 1911 just comes with being born but wanted a little more round capacity. Quickly realized the glocks were not for me. Too aggressive of a grip angle made it hard to get comfortable. Always had to re-adjust with the glock platform. Oh and for all you Glock Fan Boys out there, the question might be "which one did you shoot". Well the answer to that is ALL of them. I gave glock a fighting chance but in the end I chose the Beretta Vertec 96 in Inox for my service pistol. Bought it new in 2001 and to be honest have not seen another and I have been around the gun scene for a long time. Love the 40 cal round and having over 20 handguns, if I had to get rid of all of them except one, I would keep my Vertec 96. Have the Wilson Combat Brigadier Beretta 92 and that thing is smooth as silk. Seems to me when a gun review pops up the glocks always end up in the list mostly to not upset the fan boys. I have a whole bunch of gun friends and very few like the glocks. To each their own, that's why we have choices.

I purchased Beretta PX4 storm in 9mm for my wife because she has gout in her wrist. The newer design eliminates about 25 to 30 percent of the recoil, and ootb first time out she never missed clay pigeons for 97 rounds at 100 yds.
I feel that this 9mm would give your glock a run for your money. Try it, you might like it.

The "original" AT84S is actually a Tanfoglio TZ75 assembled in Switzerland from Tanfoglio parts. Since Tanfoglio dominates IPSC international competitions, It's weird to not see it on the list. However I'd not put any Browning system pistol in the "most accurate" department. They are surely more than enough accurate for service and dynamic shooting, but real accuracy is a field for fixed barrel designs.

I love the Hi Power. But I also have a Hungarian clone I bought about 15 years ago, and it is more accurate than the FN. I did remove that accursed magazine disconnect safety and replace the sear with one made by FN, so it has a splendid 3.5 lb. trigger pull which only helps its accuracy. In addition, I have a particular handload which uses a 124-gr. LRN bullet, 4.5 gr. of HP-38 powder, Win. primer and case which chronographs at 1,155-1,169 fps and NEVER DEVIATES from that average according to my Chrony Beta model. I've never seen a more consistent loading. From my FN, this load's velocity deviates only +/- 35 fps.

The Beretta is a perfectly adequate military firearm. But if I were stuck with 9 millimeter ball I'd rather have a 45 plus I'd rather have one without an open slide so that everything in the world that possibly can can get into it and dirty it up, probably why Colt cried foul after the first tests in 1980s and rebuilt 3 government forty-fives and redid the test the Beretta couldn't hold a candle to them. All with the oval grip. I never met anybody with an oval hand that would fit it. The best thing the thing had going for it is it was a modification of the P-38. I never shot a one-horse all one shot that was particularly accurate.

I use both pistols at the range at 45 yards. I prefer the 7.65 para which is a little more accurate. The Sig 210 is definitely the most accurate Handgun i own. But for Military use i would never take them with me. A little bit of dirt in it and it won't fire, because the tolerances are so small.

Check out the Sig Saur P210 Super Target with a 6' barrel. The test target, shot at 50 metres, consisting of 5 shots, shot by the test shooter at the factory, without a bench rest can be covered with a 50 cent coin. I challenge any other manufacturer to match that :) I have now had it for around 12 months. It cost an arm and half a leg but for a piece of engineering art it was worth it.

I like my 1911 Nowlin Challenger 6´´ in 9mm with its special barrel with a tuned 1100 gr trigger. For competition shooting 1000 gr are the minimum. It is my best handgun, next is a S&W 686 Club 30 revolver with its 6`` polygon barrel with its super crisp 1100 gr. trigger (= in Germany modified 686 revolver). With the right ammu both guns will shoot groups below 1 inch at 25 meter distance. For IPSC production or steel plates I use the CZ 75 shadow mamba in 9mm, EU version, which is quite precise.

Totally disagree. I have taken some poor pistol shots out shooting. I let them try a few of my 9mm's and they will inevitably be more accurate with one pistol than another. Sometimes it is my P7PSP and sometimes it is my Sig P-210. Some pistols are better suited to different hands, why you are seeing adjustable grips now.

My opinion, being former Army Intelligence...Beretta 93R...Beretta 92FS...CZ 75/IWI Jericho 941/EAA Witness Elite (any other clone based on this model)...Browning Hi Power...Wilson Combat 1911...SIG P226...Walther P99...Glock 19 (bottom of the list)...there are many factors that influence accuracy in shooting, such as shooter skill, barrel temperature, external elements (like wind), bullet quality, shooter position,...and the HANDGUN ITSELF, due to design, manufacturer, intrinsic tolerances, barrel fitting, proper slide barrel fit, tight machining, and proper, high quality materials (steel used in making handgun, and its individual components)...

I've noticed all the ones you've mentioned are tilt barrels, the "tilt" barrels can only get squeezed to such and continue to function, the Beretta and Taurus pt-92 both have the The falling locking block that keep "in-line travel" the groups I've experienced are half the size of all the ones you mentioned. Especially when firing at a rate of less than one round a second. I've made some pretty jealous competitors at the range with some very high priced competition pistols with my Taurus pt-92 shooting 1.5x3" at 30yrds 20rds in 20 seconds. So I'll call this my best!

My local shop has an indoor range as well as rentals. I could not decide between the Glock 17 and a Beretta 92FS. Basically a striker fired vs hammer. So, the shop took both down off the rental rack and he loaded up a magazine for each and took me into the range. I fired both and the Glock was by far the most accurate, at least for me. That surprised me. I trained and qualified in the military with the FS92. When we went back out to the showroom, he took down both in front of me and the Glock was also the winner there too. He then told me that I had put the Glock over the 25000 round count with the 10 rounds I fired. It was a Gen 1 and is on it's fourth barrel and a few other small parts he said. But to have a firearm to have that many rounds and still going strong....that is the winner to me as well. I am sure the Beretta would perform well too. The Glock is just legendary.

The P210 was originally made by SIG (Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft) and NOT SIG-SAUER (German company). SIG-SAUER has recently started making the P210 but they're arguably not on the same quality level the Swiss made P210 were.

Sig Sauer is not a German company! Sig did a joint venture with a German named Sauer, may have even bought Sauer, and has manufactured guns in Swiss, Germany, and the USA, but it is still a Swiss company. Sauer was simply a German partner , nothing to do with the company changing hands. In fact, when they started building guns in their new facility in new Hampshire sometime in the 90's I think, it was the latest and greatest in manufacturing technology and the same time they went to all solid stainless steel milled slides, so one might conclude they have actually improved in quality

You are somewhat correct; the barrel of just about any modern firearm will probably put 15 shots in a 1" diameter hole at 10 yards with quality ammunition. However, the quality of the sights, the weight of the firearm compared to the weight of the trigger pull, and the smoothness of the trigger are all factors that go into how accurately somebody can shoot the gun.

Real fast - 9 times out of 10. The handgun you buy will come from the factory zeroed. Of course they will all have different levels of accuracy. The only way to test the actual accuracy of a handgun is to mount it to a stable platform and see how many you can get in the bullseye. Once you remove it from that platform you are testing "your" accuracy.
In saying that - I have found that the weapon "I" am most accurate with is the springfield xdm 9mm series. Clear sights, smooth trigger break and reset. It almost feels like I'm cheating when I shoot it. lol
(Please understand this was not meant as an attack and I apologize if it came off that way. I honestly meant it to be fyi is all.)

I have heard that accuracy largely depends on grip, how the gun fits your hand and not the gun itself. Like minimizing recoil and solid consistent trigger pull. Wrong trigger pull leads to the gun move in your hand, slightly off target.
Also, the longer the barrel, the more velocity that can contribute to accuracy.
