I was a Glock hater too! Man when it boils down to it, they're just super lightweight, and minimalistic. For those two reasons alone I just like them slightly more than anything else.
Good video. Sharp and to the point. I do not own a Glock 17 but I see why so many people do. I own a G20, G26, and the G23 and they all work great for the reasons I purchased them.
There would not be any other Glocks ever even heard of if it wasn’t for Glock 17 all the other ones are just shorter or longer versions in different calibers
Ok. I see through all your lies. Glocks are not plastic, they are polymer and they will long outlast the user. Chuck Taylor has over 300,000 rds and counting through his G17. When is supposed to break down? We're all waiting to find out. Show me any 1911 that can say they have 300,000 rds from it...hell, show me one that will even fire without cleaning after 1000. Plastic is proven to be stronger than steel.
Anguinus Vir Why do you correct me saying theyre polymer, then go on to call them plastic? Also youre waiting to find out when someones Glock breaks down? Who even is Chuck Taylor? lol. I'm not going to show you a 1911 with lots of rounds, because I dont care. I guess youre generalizing me into some fanboy, but other manufacturers make all metal pistols. Not even going to try and debate your comment about plastic being stronger than steel, thats just laughable, and you can go on believing whatever you want.
Jim Assalone you're exactly right just the other day I was telling my brother about a 17 and I mentioned it held 17 rounds and he immediately said oh so that's why they call it a 17. I wanted something smaller so I bought the g26 but I have the 17 mags.
+ColtDeltaElite10mm I'm trying to get the g17 instead of the g23 even though I love the design of the 23 because rats are never alone so just in case you get into a gunfight is better a 17 magazine than a 13 one
Your so kind. Honestly, there are about 95% great and kind comments compared to the few negative ones. Long ago my wife told me it didnt matter what we put out there on youtube, there would be negative comments. Love the ratio we get. God family and guns subscribers are awesome!
Your channel is awesome, man! I just fired my buddy's Glock 17 today, and I liked it, but I'm still looking to get myself a CZ75 BD. I like the idea of less recoil. Also I heard that 75's are slightly more reliable, when it comes to stovepipe limp-wristing failures, such as they don't happen often.
A lot of polymer framed pistols are so light that they're often susceptible to limp-wristing stove pipe failures. The heavier, all metal guns typically don't have these issues. It's something about how the gun flips back upon firing, it catches the ejected casing. It might not happen to a lot of shooters, but for more inexperienced shooters it's probably more likely. It's one of the main reasons I wouldn't suggest a Glock to a 90 pound girl. It may work well for a lot of guys, but Glocks seem to have that issue.
/// //// The Cz p07 duty is very manageable in the recoil department and is VERY reliable! I have a later gen 1 (with the "B" prefix in the serial number) and it's absolutely 100%. It's also a polymer framed pistol about the same size as the Glock 19 and there have been many comparisons between the two and they're about neck and neck as far as reliability is concerned. The earlier Gen4 Glock 19's had a recall on them because they decided to put a recoil spring designed for the 40 s&w in their 9mm's and this made it where you couldn't run lighter loads reliably in them. Glock of course straightened out of the issues out. I've never shot a glock but I've shot many other handguns and the Cz p07 duty is my favorite. I hear the Glock 19's have a snappier recoil than the p07 duty. I'm probably going to go try one out soon. I love my Cz p07 duty but I'm sure Glock makes a fantastic product as well. I picked out my Cz over the Glock 19 because it was a Gen 3 Glock and I just didn't care for it. I kind of like the Gen 4's though. You can't go wrong with either one in my opinion.
Just found you guys. The first video of you we watched(today), was about church security. I noticed that it was published on August 22, 2017, which was way before the recent shooting at the church in Texas. A few years ago I think that the Lord prompted me to protect the small town church that my family and I had been going to. The Pastor and Elders were on board. The reason I am writing is that I am recently an unemployed electrician and could use some prayer for some work. Thank you and GOD bless you and yours.
I’ve always wanted a glock 17 because of the magazine capacity, however I was side tracked by the smith and Wesson m&p, but after watching this video I very interested in the glock 17
Francis Strazzulla I need to try looking again next week then. They have been sold out everywhere here for months. Just overpriced 911s, crappy sub $200 pistols, and rifles is what I’ve seen. At least new.
I love both 17 and 19 but I prefer the 19. I have big hands but even the 17 seems large in my hand. Plus the 19 to me may as well just be the norm. I'm really weird about capacity. With handguns, I prefer it ending in 5 or 0 between 10 and 20 rounds. 17 rounds just seems odd to me I wish it was 18. But 15 rounds is high capacity to me which is why I love my 19. That and it fits so flush In the hand
Great video, I could also use some prays for a friend of mine that just had a stroke. He is still in the hospital and we are waiting to hear from the family. Thank you and god bless.
I remember these things coming out in the 80s and seeing Jerry Revish on CH4 news in Columbus, OH firing one at The Powder Room range in Powell. Didn't think much of the Tupperware gun until I bought a G17 and now I own 3 of 'em. Love 'em all. Thanks for the History lesson.
I like the fact, that you can own many Glock models, and use the same holster. I own the 17, 23, and 26, and can carry any of them, in the same holster.
Good video. I recently bought a Glock 17. First polymer framed pistol I've ever owned. I believe it's also the only striker fired one, too. The 10 facts presented are welcome insight. You can never know too much about a firearm you may have to depend on. Thanks
Although not a Glock cult follower, the 17 is my sidearm of choice when hunting or woods gun. It is also my truck gun. Basic meat and potatoes which has never failed. Rain, snow, sleet and mixed....it truly withstands the elements and is often neglected from cleaning. Great weapon. Thanks for your channel and your principles!
Informative. Succinct. Entertaining. Thank you for being one of the few RUclips’ers who prepares and doesn’t need to drag their videos on forever. Appreciate you!!
Nice vid. Glock has Awesome customer service. I took one of my 17s to the plant in Georgia they replaced 10 parts and swapped out my 10 round mags for 18 round mags for free.
I know this is an old video but this is the first new Glock I’ve ever purchased. I’ve had a gen 3 21 and 26 in the past that I received from a trade and a pawn shop deal. But this Glock, to me, has been the only one worth buying and that I’ll probably ever buy.

HK was the first polymer-framed pistol and predates the Glock 17 by 12 years. The weapon weighed 820 g (28.9 oz) unloaded, lighter than most other metal framed pistols of the time. Although the VP70 was the first polymer-framed handgun, the Remington Nylon 66 rifle introduced in 1959 was the first polymer-framed firearm in production. One unique feature of this weapon involved the combination stock/holster for the martial version of the VP70. The stock incorporates a selector switch that, when mounted, allows selective fire. Cyclic rate of fire for the three-round burst is 2200 rounds per minute. When not mounted, the stock acts as a holster. The VP70 uses a spring-loaded striker like a Glock, instead of a conventional firing pin. It is double action only so the trigger pull is relatively heavy. In lieu of a blade front sight, the VP70 uses a polished ramp with a central notch in the middle to provide the illusion of a dark front post. Contrary to a common misconception, the VP70 does indeed have a manual safety. It is the circular button located immediately behind the trigger and is a common crossblock safety. Sorry GLOCK
You Don't Know Glock thing # 11: Gaston Glock won the 1979 Vezina trophy as goalie for the Redwings. But it was rescinded when the league discovered his plastic skates!
Ferritic nitrocarburizing doesn't remove nitrogen and carbon from steel, rather it diffuses nitrogen and carbon into the surface to case harden the metal, improve corrosion resistance, and decrease surface friction.
It says an awful lot about a gun when the very first iteration of the company’s very first model of its very first handgun with no revisions goes straight into a tender for the Austrian army, up against Browning, Sig Sauer, Walther, Beretta and Heckler & Koch...and wins. That is astonishing. I liked this video, it was quite revealing about the ferric nitrocarburizing process. I did not know that it was ICI that invented that! Appropriate that the British Armed Forces now use the pistol that took that process and made it useful to firearms. I’m doing my ACMT on the Glock in a couple of weeks and I’m looking forward to it.
Good point! Thanks for the feedback.....perhaps I should go back to the basics.....do you have a favorite Glock aiming video? My M&P's, STI's and HK's seem to aim themselves quite well.....
Not to be confused with Common knowledge. For the American revolutionary war pamphlet by Thomas Paine, see Common Sense (pamphlet). For other uses, see Common sense (disambiguation).Common sense is a basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge things that is shared by ("common to") nearly all people and can reasonably be expected of nearly all people without need for debate.[1]The everyday understanding of common sense derives from philosophical discussion involving several European languages. Related terms in other languages include Latin sensus communis, Greek κοινὴ αἴσθησις (koinē aísthēsis), and French bon sens, but these are not straightforward translations in all contexts. Similarly in English, there are different shades of meaning, implying more or less education and wisdom: "good sense" is sometimes seen as equivalent to "common sense", and sometimes not.[2]"Common sense" has at least two specifically philosophical meanings. One is a capability of the animal soul (Greek psukhē) proposed by Aristotle, which enables different individual senses to collectively perceive the characteristics of physical things such as movement and size, which all physical things have in different combinations, allowing people and other animals to distinguish and identify physical things. This common sense is distinct from basic sensory perception and from human rational thinking, but cooperates with both. The second special use of the term is Roman-influenced and is used for the natural human sensitivity for other humans and the community.[3] Just like the everyday meaning, both of these refer to a type of basic awareness and ability to judge that most people are expected to share naturally, even if they can not explain why.All these meanings of "common sense", including the everyday one, are inter-connected in a complex history and have evolved during important political and philosophical debates in modern western civilisation, notably concerning science, politics and economics.[4] The interplay between the meanings has come to be particularly notable in English, as opposed to other western European languages, and the English term has become international.[5]
I knew most of the topics, but I also learned a few new details and was updated on a few of these topics. Thanks. Prayer: employment for my wife please.
Your incorrect The roth-styer M1907 is not the first striker fired handgun. The first production striker fired handgun was the C-93 Borchart produced i 1893 the gun that would be reworked to become the P08 Luger. There are actually striker fired designs back before that gun but none put into production with most only being a sample of 1 gun that never left an experimental phase. The borchart was produced in what for its time was considered large numbers.
Very interesting facts about Gaston Glock's early years. I prefer my 9mm in a SIG P226, but my .45 is the Glock 21. Your vids are always informative & entertaining..."freedom is not free."
The Glock 17 was developed since our army the Bundesheer realized that the P38 sucked as sidearm and that it was completely obsolete. That was when Gaston Glock heard of their contest for the best Pistol. He just started tinkering and out came the famous Glock 17. He won the contract with the army.
I want a full frame 9mm and I think the Glock 17 is going to be my choice. I really want a Browning High Power but the price on those are higher than a camels butt. Great history lesson GFG. All of this info was new to me. The fact that some of John Brownings design is in a Glock makes me like it even more.
+God family and guns Thank you for the video. I found out some new facts about my G17 I never knew. Unfortunately i ended up trading the G17 for other firearms. One thing i can say i don't miss about the G17 was the ejecting of spent casings straight back in the face or head. Mine was a police turn in from around 1997.
I have felt with Glock for some time now. The best I found, and use is the Glock 17, and the 21SF. Both 3rd Gen. I like the 4th, and 5 Gen. But for some reason I love the 3rd Gen the most! My next to get is the 3rd Gen model 22. I also own a Beretta 92FS which I Love as well. But I’m mainly a Glock person. I’ve had no problems with all 3 with the exception of a bad round here, and there. I’ve looked at other makers of the 9mm, S&W 40, and the 45ACP. But the best to me is Glock!
dampy I've looked at those a few times, how is the quality on that conversion kit? reasonably reliable,& accurate for a rim fire semi auto? i was thinking about going that route for cheap training purposes, and for my 8 year old who is not quite ready to be cut loose with a Centerfire pistol but is ready to step up from the ruger target style pistols and such!
Very nice quality. At first I was a little reluctant to drop $289 on a conversion kit instead of putting that money into a dedicated 22lr pistol, but I'm glad I did. A little picky on ammo at the start, but the more rounds through it, the better it gets. CCI HP or RN work 100%, anything over 1240 fps seem to run fine also. Fed Auto Match not so well at first but now seems to be feeding them better. It's strange but I actually like the fact that every now and again you may get a failure to feed, or eject, or other, it helps teach you what to do when this happens. Since it operates flawlessly as a G17 9MM, I never get to practice failures! I bought this kit to teach my kids and Mom to shoot a full size platform. No regrets here.
Praise the Lord. Now, my company is forcing all of us to trade in our revolvers(those of us who chose to keep them) and make us go to the Glock 17. If you get this in time I'd appreciate prayer tomorrow because this Glock class they are making us go to is an extensive class. Covers cleaning, oiling, taking apart and shooting. Thx
I like the video with the history back ground shown about the Glock that made in Austria, now the USA or making Glock now but holy difference is the steel slide with polish finish not with teflon which I prefer. What U.S. making on the steel slide to prevent it from rust.
Glock the bad news is you have to modify a few things to make it perform at an outstanding level (sights, trigger...etc). The good news is you can find many, many offerings to make your Glock your own. I love my gen 4.
thank you. and btw i was just removed from facebook for a month because i stated my opinion about californias hypocritical gun laws. oh well. thanks again for the info on glock17. i own two glocks and one is a 17
To prevent the unforeseen when I'm alone and down the block I pack a Holy Bible...a Bible and a Glock. If the enemy opposing has a Christian soul to seal I will bless him with a scripture, but if not... with lead and steel. I want to live in peace with everyone I see. I shall always try to do so, as much as depends on me. But there's no evil I will stand, no devil hand that I won't still Like the Lion and the Lamb. The very hand that blesses you can kill! To prevent the unforeseen when I'm alone and down the block I pack a Holy Bible...a Bible and a Glock.
While it is true that 65% of law enforcement is carrying a Glock that doesn't mean they are all carrying the Glock 17. The 40 caliber Glocks are extremely popular with law enforcement. Most of the departments in my area are carrying the Glock 22. There are even officers around carrying the Glock 21 in 45acp. Please make sure your information is correct before you present it as fact.
The Glock frames are not all the same. The 40 SW frames and the 357 frames have interchangeable parts, but the 9mm frames cannot interchange with the others since the 9mm frames are slightly thinner due to the smaller diameter bullets.
There is no difference between a Glock 17 frame and 22 frame at all. It's the exact same thing the only difference between the guns is the barrel and corresponding hole at the end of the slide
was a glock hater until my CCP class lent me a loaner for my qualification- made me a believer i'm now an owner of a Gen 4 17 awesome weapon
I was a Glock hater too! Man when it boils down to it, they're just super lightweight, and minimalistic. For those two reasons alone I just like them slightly more than anything else.
That's what I got. Love it
Same here!
I love it too but someone wants to buy it.... don't want to sell it...
Bought mine three weeks ago. Very user friendly and easy to maintain and clean.
Watching this while my Glock 17 is by my side.
Glock 19 by my side
Me too, years later.

Same same haha
Got 2 a gen 5 glock 17 and a original Glock 26 with mag extension
Picking this up as my first ever firearm tomorrow 👍🏽
What’d you think of it?? I’m doing this on Wednesday
John DeBenedetto and I’m doing it in about 10 days too! How was yours?
Best gun to own for a first time owner
I love mine! 17 Gen 3
It was my first gun and I LOVE it!
The Glock 17 is my favorite weapon. Period.
@Glockamole 17 I have small hands, Glock 17 little big. But the Glock 19 is perfect for my smaller hands
@Glockamole 17 they sell the 19 compact, and the 26 sub compact. I bought the 26, because I wanted a pocket carry gun, for work. I used a mic holster.
thank you for the video, I would not trade my glock 17 for nothing...I got a gen 1 and it has served me well. Thanks and God bless.
Good video. Sharp and to the point. I do not own a Glock 17 but I see why so many people do. I own a G20, G26, and the G23 and they all work great for the reasons I purchased them.

Many people believed it was called the Glock 17 because it held 17 rounds.

Glock 19 is my favorite. Love it!
I love everything about Glock I can't decide weather I should get a g19 or g17?
Thanks for the video! Glock makes some great personal protection tools.....unfortunately I can't shoot them nearly as well as my M&P's......
well you suck ever heard of aiming
Good point! Thanks for the feedback.....perhaps I should go back to the basics.....do you have a favorite Glock aiming video? My M&P's, STI's and HK's seem to aim themselves quite well.....
Justin Snow no its just common sense
Hmm
thank you for the information. very informative.

Prayer: employment for my wife please.
Where can I send y'all a prayer request?
Sorry for the slow response, Christmas got me behind. You can email it to godfamilynguns@gmail.com. God bless
Thanks I learned history about my weapon. Always a great thing.
Over 60% of LE use "Glock", not Glock 17. Also as of now the Glock 19 is the number one selling Glock.
YoungSinatra25 17 is still most popular internationally
YoungSinatra25 my wife carries the G19 and I carry the G17... Sometimes a 1/2" is the difference between between being a man or a girl. 😂
I love me some guns. But can we place them further down the priority list? like GOd. Family, education, experience, travels, books. music. GUNS
like others have said, certain guns just shoot better than others..........and that is to a shooter.........so, in my case, the 17 is my choice.
Very interesting facts about Gaston Glock's early years. I prefer my 9mm in a SIG P226, but my .45 is the Glock 21. Your vids are always informative & entertaining..."freedom is not free."
Amen keep up the great work God Bless all of you guys
Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
Buddy!!!!!!
Very well done video. You have earned a sub on this day sir.
with that ported barrel, in night will be sparks if you dont greasing the gun well
Beyond dependability, safety, and accuracy, I think the ease of using a Glock also makes it a very good first firearm for people.
I pray that everyone has a safe and happy holidays. God is great.
The Glock 17 was developed since our army the Bundesheer realized that the P38 sucked as sidearm and that it was completely obsolete. That was when Gaston Glock heard of their contest for the best Pistol. He just started tinkering and out came the famous Glock 17. He won the contract with the army.
Thats awesome
Very interesting, thank you.
Ive heard of that ejecting problem from others as well
God Bless and have a Blessed New Year!!
As always,Great info@GOD BLESS🇺🇸🔫's,family!
Just bought a Glock 17. I love it.
Awesome vid AGAIN! Love my G17, also love the Advantage Arms 22lr conversion for it.
dampy I've looked at those a few times, how is the quality on that conversion kit? reasonably reliable,& accurate for a rim fire semi auto? i was thinking about going that route for cheap training purposes, and for my 8 year old who is not quite ready to be cut loose with a Centerfire pistol but is ready to step up from the ruger target style pistols and such!
Last Friday I just purchased my first ever gun. A glock 17 gen 4 and I love it today I fired it for the first time ever
Thx
Great video.
Nice vid. I have come to appreciate Glocks over the last ten years. Now, they are my choice for carry.
Thanks, Glocks for sure serve a great purpose
I like the video with the history back ground shown about the Glock that made in Austria, now the USA or making Glock now but holy difference is the steel slide with polish finish not with teflon which I prefer. What U.S. making on the steel slide to prevent it from rust.
Interesting
Today the glock 17 gen5 goes for $700 if you could find a used one buy it they are hard to find a good gun store with night sights about $369 💯👍
Glock the bad news is you have to modify a few things to make it perform at an outstanding level (sights, trigger...etc).
The good news is you can find many, many offerings to make your Glock your own. I love my gen 4.
Mine comes next week! So excited
thank you. and btw i was just removed from facebook for a month because i stated my opinion about californias hypocritical gun laws. oh well. thanks again for the info on glock17. i own two glocks and one is a 17
To prevent the unforeseen when I'm alone and down the block
I pack a Holy Bible...a Bible and a Glock.
If the enemy opposing has a Christian soul to seal
I will bless him with a scripture, but if not... with lead and steel.
I want to live in peace with everyone I see.
I shall always try to do so, as much as depends on me.
But there's no evil I will stand, no devil hand that I won't still
Like the Lion and the Lamb. The very hand that blesses you can kill!
To prevent the unforeseen when I'm alone and down the block
I pack a Holy Bible...a Bible and a Glock.
This is... awesome. Great comment. haha Dude, God told me the Glock 17 is the best weapon that I can own.
My 40 on me plus god with me aint alone.
Awesome channel.
I love the 9mm but for my money I choose the .40s&w
why more recoil cost more no extra benefits
Bigger bullet makes a bigger hole, and I actually just really enjoy shooting the .40 round.
if you just like it thats fine just dont believe what some say thats its so much better than the 9mm
wears gun out.
thatharleyguy
It's 0.02 inches bigger than a 9 mm lol hardly a difference
Mine a Glock 22 I picked up back in 1994. Great little sidearm. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
I love your video's please keep up the good work.
Very good video. Thank you.
Please make sure your information is correct before you present it as fact.
raccoontrapper I don't know glock too well but aren't they all the same frame? I think that's where he was going with that
The Glock frames are not all the same. The 40 SW frames and the 357 frames have interchangeable parts, but the 9mm frames cannot interchange with the others since the 9mm frames are slightly thinner due to the smaller diameter bullets.
Jon Hammett yeah. same general size. like a xdm 9 4.5 or a xdm 45 4.5. same damn gun minor differences. features all same.
There is no difference between a Glock 17 frame and 22 frame at all. It's the exact same thing the only difference between the guns is the barrel and corresponding hole at the end of the slide
F.B.I. is going back to 9mm, Fl hwp still use .45gap
Very helpful. Thank you
my favorite 2nd gun
learned alot thanks
my favorite is the cz75 SP01
Great Video, very informative...thamk you !
Would you put some video for someone who wants to know more about the various guns.
On the 8th day of creation Godnmade the glock 17.

Well researched video. Thank you.
Very interesting info, thanks for sharing that with us.
65% use glocks, not glock 17's specifically
