this is by far the best acting (voice acting) from all of their work, these two just mesh like realistic friends and they are fun to watch
Secret Code I dont think sociopaths like this have friends. That was the nuance of the dialogue i enjoyed
I love the concept, the voice acting is superb. The cgi should deserve more praise then whats said in the comments.
If it was decent it would, as it stands it harkens back to early 2000s
@@keef78 it's way better than early 2000s fool. it looks this way because it's generated on unity engine
Stop licking the studio's butthole. The CGI is awful.
I loved that second guard. Just standing there in front of an explosion that cracked bullet proof glass. Just standing there.
I bet you could do better 👌
OAT'S PHYSICS
@@MikeS-um1nm The same way the zombi was able to walk with that thing shot into his leg... totally believable.
@@wandaoreilly Exactly !!
why are people so salty at this perfectly good CGI
The guy's white sweater looks really weird and it's immediately noticable. I don't think there's anything wrong with critique of these videos from their experimental lab... In fact it probably helps Oats figure out where and what they need to further work on, which will then translate to even better production in their full-budget movie releases.
All these videos are tests for future bigger projects. You know that right?
Yea, the modeling and clothing physics are perfectly good for the late 90s.
Kris Douglas To be honest it caught me off guard at first
But I like it
Kris Douglas I love it
Interesting that it's a 5th clip with "mind control" thing. Rakka - mind control used by lizards, Fire Base - controled soldiers, Zygote - controled bodys used as one, God - controled primal people. Especially when keeping in mind that Death Stranding show us some kind of controling cords. Great works Keep 'em comming
Like puppets with strings eh?
Is oats related to death stranding?
Not really, but a lot of people seem to believe it is, for some reason.
+PythonSelkanHD they are doing great analysis about MGSV and Deathstranding and in one of the videos the pointed that at E3 was a interview with Jordan Vogt-Roberts he had 3 flags on his slave (Japan - Hideo, USA-him self and the 3rd RPA-Neil Blomkamp!). and the Neil himself also was on E3 talking about OATS. And guess who played on the stage after his interview... Low Roar with the songs from Death Stranding!!
They are trying soo hard to play it off. With all that stuff happening that night there's no way it couldn't be all related to each other
CGI threw me off at first but in the end this was really good! Keep up the good work.
Warrka4 I also thought that it was live-action.
I wonder how disheartening it is to work hard on something, give it to people for free, and then scroll through comment after comment criticizing the free content and ignoring the story being told completely.
Caleb Sålstrom That's life
I agree.
I have loved every second of content they have released so far. Very creative and fun, amazing ideas with inspiration taken from so much media I and many others enjoy.
Well if you gonna expose your work you need to have the ability to take criticism, and it is of low quality for today's standards.
How you see this as low quality baffles me, you clearly don't know what it takes to make this.
+Evan Roberts
Today's standards of quality, and i don't care what it takes i'm not working in the industry,
i'm a consumer of this stuff and i have the right to compare and criticize, it was my opinion
based on facts and experience, just trowing out millions of animations is useless if you are
not making the best for what can be achieved with today's technology otherwise why do it,
i don't have the time and the skill so i won't start doing crap and put it on the net just because
i can make a crap animation for free, the short movie Rakka was excellent and Zygote was
pretty good as well, that is what i want not this or the others they made.
My god I just love you guys. Thank you all so much for your incredible efforts bringing us these shorts. Look at those subtle movements in the camera when the guy filming is talking or laughing. That is attention to detail you just don't see anywhere else.
The secret testing of black budget weapon systems on prisoners. I've always wondered if weapons manufactures made deals that dark. Great video!
I think we both know they have and do.
only in science fiction
Waked That is where you're wrong. Know your history. During WW2 Germany used its captives which ranged from soldiers to jewish kids or even mentally deficient people to experiment their weapons. Nervous gas, pressure chambres, poisons like neurotoxins, manufactured diseases, they knew no limits. Until the 80s your government experimented not only on prisoners but also on people, without them knowing, different type of drugs. Look for it on the internet, you'll find these stories easily. Information access has been made really easy thanks to this medium so why don't you try to make a good use of it. Knowledge is power.
I'm talking about now, not history, and I'm not from the usa like you like to claim.
Waked and are you sure that they don’t use them now? Because I would say there are a lot of experiments going on right now, and you never know what kind of stuff they’re trying on us without our knowledge.
love this voice actor
Took me longer than I care to admit to realize this was CG. Give us moar!
Really? Bless your heart. lol
The old VHS look made me take a bit to realize that it was CGI too.
oifocker same
Who's Moar?
For me it was the big science guy. His body looks odd.
Okay one thing this Kapture laboratories or whatever is called remainds me of SCP Fundation because thier "test subjects" always die
The Foundation isn’t in the business of making weapons to kill lots of people. If anything, the only reason they use D-Class is to prevent widespread civilian catastrophes down the road (knowing how SCPs work, how to keep them locked up, what not do do with them, etc.)
This looks like an evil testing facility from Half-Life
Jack Black in HL3 confirmed
Another great short guys. Like that your mixing it up with some CGI. This one was both funny and dark!
This comment was 3 years ago and only 1 like......... I felt bad so I gave you a like
@@thatoneguyproductions269ye9 now it's 9likes.
Iam here Bec just got notification of bad presedent. So i thought just refresh someof my memories. Hehe.
And such great CGI that watching on the small screen on my phone it took me a moment to realise it was CGI
The CGI is firmly in uncanny valley, but the mannerisms and acting is so real and natural. This is fantastic work.
Hmm, from 2:07 the camera guy goes next to the other scientist, seemingly leaving the camera behind them filming them, then in the overview shot at 2:14 there's no visible camera behind them, yet after that the scientists turn towards the camera, which is now moving as if there's a third person steering it.. Hmm..
Edit; Seeing people yell "IT'S CGI!"
Yes, I know. Every one knows that. Simply pointing out a continuity error in the shot.
WormsWeGot Wow nice catch
ya, you are a legend. got them!
Maybe the Zygote gave them a "hand" for this one.
you ppl often film a scene multiple times and edit them together right?
WormsWeGot well spotted
Hey people, it's an experimental film studio, they can do what they want. CGI might be questionable, but that voice acting was pretty good, as well as the spectacle of the scene. As long as Neill Blomkamp and the good folks at Oats keep pumping these out, most of you will keep watching them. Why? Because there's obviously a lot of talent and love behind these pieces. That dialogue was well done too. Can't wait to see more. Though I will say the CGI did throw me for a loop, as Rakas, Firebase, and Zygote have been live action shorts. Just keep giving us more, Neill.
Hey guy people can shit on garbage tier CGI if they want. lol
God damn this is impressive.
The voice acting and writing is perfect! Feels like such a real conversation!
Motion Kapture?
Wait this is cgi? Didn't realize it for 15 secs on the first seconds. Well done.
Amazing dialogue, feels so natural.
Absolutely outstanding and well done guys! I look forward to seeing more!
Why is everyone bitching about cgi this 5 min vid is better then 80% of the movies released this year. Keep up the awesome vids oats
welcome to apperture science !
lacucaracha111111
got the same vibe, lol.
It needs more combustible lemons...
I dunno...replace the FLUKE with an anomalous artifact, and you've pretty much got the Foundation
who knows maybe its based upon one :P
lacucaracha111111 Kapture Inc.
We do what we must because we can.
Crazy good cohesion. The voice acting, the cgi, everything looks so naturally in sync.
You can count on Oats Studios to ensure that you feel slightly sick after watching any one of their videos. I love it!
Finally, a weapon to surpass Metal Gear.
Wonderful work of fiction Oats Studios, everything I've seen so far struck me as really original stuff - I could easily imagine these reprobates "Yes Sir, General Sir!, this baby (pats sci-fi style raygun) has enough fire power to make an African elephant explode from a range of 5 miles"
I'm loving these short films!!
Another great piece from Oats! Lovin' it.
Man that cgi is weird
I think this is the one they created using the Unity or Unreal game engine. They pretty much had the actors mocap and rendered at the same time.
It's hitting right in the Uncanny Valley.
Looks great as fuck imo
The fabric is very reminiscent of the stuff from Advent Children in the way that it moves and doesn't looks _QUITE_ real.
Its using a game engine guys
It's an amazing experience in experimenting with cgi and it is easily AAA game or block buster quality. . Thanks guys great wrk keep it up ..
I love oats studio and there creativity everything they make I want to see so much more if every short film was a movie I’d love to see in a theater you guys kill it every time please keep them coming!!!!!!
I’ve only seen few shows with this kind of animation style. My god oats studio. You guys are some sick twisted physcos with your content and I love it!
*Development Requirements Met [Fluke]*
Every short film I watch leaves me wanting MORE! Much much more! Keep up good work.
Excellent piece of kit
Great! Loved it. Thanks again Oats!
People saying this looks like a video game, but if a video game had voice acting this good and sound work this good it would win awards. Games don't have this level of production quality. Makes me wonder if Oats should try a game...
Exactly what i was thinking!
I'm fairly certain this was actually run on Unity too
You must not play many games. There are plenty of examples of games with excellent voice talent and sound design even ten years ago.
Venticuiliar its Fox engine or maybe Decima
Games don't and shouldn't win awards based on production values alone. Gameplay and art direction are the most imporrant aspects to determining worth.
- You're a big boy with a big gun
- For you
Great stuff as always , thank you Oats Team
Wonderful work
I thought it was real at the beginning, of course it's not perfect but looks great.
Luis same
Same here
Some Randy
How 'bout you do something better.
Took me 45 seconds to catch that it was CG.
Some of you guys are ignorant to the fact that this is a stylistic approach to human anatomy.
NANOMACHINES SON
This is awesome!Hope to see more Kapture videos from Gary and Jeff...there is nothing cooler then experimental weapons and aircraft R & D
brilliant as usual. keep it up Oats.
This shit is dope, why is everyone bitching about the cgi? You guys are getting this for free! Oats Studio is fucking awesome! Loving this dark stuff. Keep up the great work.
took me too much to realise its animated
I love it !!! Them guys was so excited ...
Looks great. I like how Blomkamp captures the madness of people, and scientist in this case.
This short very bluntly illustrates a point that a lot of people don't think about that often.
A long time ago people used to see dying in battle as a noble sacrifice made to a king or a god that any person should be honored to have happen.
Then writing and film developed and people saw the real horrors of war. We didn't like it, but many people still saw the nobility and necessity of combating huge global threats.
Nowadays, we see more of war than ever, but we've even lost that sense of righteousness because we're constantly using top of the line military hardware to blow up people living in mud huts on another continent.
This short kinda brilliantly demonstrates the almost pathetic nature of modern warfare.
2:14 On the view from the surveillance camera there is no camera, on which the second scientist shot and which he placed as if on a tripod, to enter the frame himself. In addition, then this camera itself comes to life and begins to move.
well noticed
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. But hey, in 1 minute they made believable scientists. Better than most films can say
Maybe it is a mind controlled intern
Technology, babe.
Дмитрий Батицкий another person.....
that was really great! great voice acting. great story. wow oats just wow
Honestly it took me about a minute to tell this was animated. Great job!
Kojima, is that you in the corner?
Kaffeebohnson
This corner is the ONLY corner...are you the ONLY you in it?!?
Damn I thought there would be more to it. Was waiting for dude to start attacking them or something. The scientists were pretty funny lol
Just started watching these today. Completely Amazed and I was already a big Blamkamp fan anyway
The voice acting is phenomenal!
Love the Story and the CG. Just hope that thing wont come to reality. 😂😂😂
Hery Chandra Never say never.
Uncanny valley level: 9000.
I swore I was looking at a real life actor at the beginning! I didn't sense anything a bit off until he was in the lab lowered to retrieve the F.L.U.K.E. So freaking realistic! I'd take this modded into any game all of the time! Stupendously marvelous work Oats!
Great video. I especially liked the clothing effects. The way each layer would move in proportion to the characters, as well as the one tech's lab coat that creased in various positions and never repeated. The story was dark but funny as hell. Kinda makes me wish I had their job(the technician's) testing out R&D tech.
" Teh , Heh heh.....I guarantee his sentence is gonna get reduced !
LMAO ❗♥️ IT!
Which SCP is that gun?
idk but its not teeth like 127
That was awesome! Great job!!
Amazing! This reminds me of Playdead's "Inside" Game. Beautifully presented! Bravo guys!
The face animation is the only thing I feel that broke the illusion
2:22 where is the camera behind them?? Where is the third person?
I think it was an oversight on their part, but honestly? it adds just that extra layer of unsettling that makes it good.
At 3:24 you can see there's no one there - no camera, no nothing.
@@benbauer3426 It’s the ghost cameraman. It’s a new type of worker you can buy it on Amazon.
Great Kickstarter video!!
This was insane! Well done!
How comes the soldiers are not covered in blood right after the explosion but the protective glass is?
Because the structure blocked everything but the door. (plus, CGI on the glass is easy, the soldiers not so much.)
jfbeam it was all cgi. Also the soldiers.
SunRed soldiers drink blood real fast
3 guys behind the safety glass fine. But the guy standing out in the open after a blast that large? Cat Food.
We are all cat food.
2:17 Behind them there should be a camera, which was fixed by a gray-haired man.
But it is really cool video, great work!
the dialogue is so fluid and natural sounding it makes it all the more unnerving
It wasn't until i turned my phone sideways about 2 minutes in that i realized this was CGI. Very Impressive work with some excellent voice actors to boot
Completely honest I didn’t realize it was cgi until like 30 seconds in
Top 10 anime betrayals
That was actually very good. Congrats.
Wow!
This was.. far to real looking CG here!!
I LOVE IT!!
Trolling lol
Apparently, everyone in the comments is an expert CGI artist by trade.
You ain't got to be a doctor to notice when one cuts off the wrong leg . lol
And apparently you're blind.
He looks like cgi
Edit: nvrm I'm dumb
Another one bites the dust!!
Well done sirs!
I discovered this channel recently and I want to say....YEAH!!!
I wish this studio make the SCP series
Dude i thought the guy was real at first n i kept thinking "why is his labcoat looking so weird?" Then when the other guy came into the shot i was omfg thats a cgi person holy shit!
i want to see more of these guys, it looks like a fun premise
I like that, in Locus, you guys fixed the missing camera in the tripod. Good spot!
Everything looks cool but the cloth looks weird =/ No thickness.
Not sure if i liked the CGI in this one. Seemed a bit overkill. Love the cloth physics though, with some better shaders itd look great.
Keep churning them out boys!... keep churning them out. Loving the concepts👍
This CGI is really really well done. The fat blokes movements were great and really lifelike.
If you look at "mike" (the controlled guy)'s vision on the screen, you see that nobody is holding the camera (which is clearly moving as if somebody is holding it). Knowing this studio this is not an error, and there is some meaning behind it. I just don't know what yet...
This looks like CGI from the Polar Express movie.
I love the way they laugh and high five at the end after blowing up the prisoner. They seem such nice guys.
This was amazing.
Why do i ferl like some dark US agency is really working on this type of weapon or had been testing it...
Oats studio is to death stranding, what Moby dick studio was to MGS V. kojima is trolling us again and getting us ready for death stranding.
It took me over a minute to realize it was fully cg. Great work!
Love these....
