* MOUNTAIN BUCK DOWN * Public Land Deer Hunting in Pennsylvania

  • Deer Hunting on public land! I had this buck run in to a grunt call, make a scrape and walk into 40 yards. It took us nearly 1 & 1/2 hours to drag him out. All hunting is fun hunting, but when you can experience something like this -- a public land big woods spot that you scouted and hunted successfully. A deer that you skin and process yourself. It's a wild full circle adventure. Enjoy!

Have a suggestion for the dragging, I bought a plastic sled from Cabelas for around $70 (the smaller one) and it works great for long drags. I use it behind my side by side, but used it several times to get deer to the trail. Goes over everything easily, a lot less work

Hey lady. Enjoy the vids. Good to see y'all enjoying the outdoors together. Two things though: Work on your steps when entering the area you're hunting...unless you just know deer aren't in earshot when you're going to your spot...and....if you're worried about scent control...don't wear your outer layer in the vehicle or even have it inside the vehicle...your driver seat especially is a scent trap/dispersal system. Serio.

Yourself a deer cart. You would have been able to get that buck out of the woods completely by yourself. It cuts the grunt part of retrieving a deer to less than half the hard work. 👍👍💯

I'm a new archery hunter, still pursuing my first archery deer. I've learned a lot from your channel and I appreciate how you keep it real. It doesn't have to be a monster buck to make a person really excited, and I love that about you. I'm in southeastern PA, curious which region of PA this was in. Not asking for the location, but like northeast, or central, etc. Thank you for all the time and energy you put into helping the rest of us improve and enjoy this sport! :)

Allie, After watching this video,I had to subscribed. Your not like some of the fake hunters on You tube. Dropping a buck at 40 yards with a bow is impressive. Only word of advice is get yourself a deer cart with wheels.or a cheap plastic sled.. would have saved you hours. Great shot and a very ethical kill. God bless

So, as to the ‘nature’ of our world, is it right for humans to control the natural tendencies of deer as it pertains to their impact on aspen trees? Is it right for us to control deer by means of an unnatural metal barrier in the middle of the forest? Should we be concerned with ‘nature’, when we are, in fact, part of nature? Some points to ponder.

I wish I could have seen that. I knew the shot sounded good & that it wasn't like 20 yards or closer cuz of the lag between the release to the point of impact. Great story and video. Best part was seeing you watch him make the scrape and seeing how calm and on task you were the whole time. Way to go.

Call game and fish when you find dead heads and a lot of times they will give you a tag for it. I’ve got one from Pennsylvania that the warden done that with.

I looked at one of your videos on here and you were saying you used nap quick fletch vanes do yall use the 3 or 4 fletch and the nap twisters or the quick spin, I think quick spin is what they call the other one they make.. reason I ask I've been thinking about trying them out for a while I was just wondering which naps yall use.
