What an inspiring story of a young man with a vision that never gave up! Who would of guessed he is partly responsible for the design & build of the Lamborghini Countach. Now his dream brought him to create one of the most amazing Hypercars ever built. Very cool!

Here is one thing that many people don't know about Horaccio Pagani. He designed the Zonda in the late 70's!!! I mean isn't that incredible?! That car still looks timeless today. I had my first Zonda moment when i was 20 years old. It was the one and only one in Australia and still is today. I saw the Zonda, C12 to be exact and in a sparkling yellow finish in Sydney near Oxford Street and my jaw just dropped. Still can not forget that moment until this day. That was back in 2008.. He is a true legend.

I think he meant that it would be unnecessary to try convincing people to spend a lot of money on a Pagani because it would obviously be worth it.

He's a douche bag though. The radio doesn't work in the Zonda and he replied "just listen to the engine". Or you can fix the fucking radio in your million dollar car.

someusername121 Who in their right mind would listen to a radio in a Zonda, or any hypercar for that matter? I agree with Mr. Pagani 100%.

TonyTheTiger1516 When you pay 1M+ for a car, you expect everything to work whether you use it or not. Why do you think Rolex throws away any watches which have any flaw? "Don't worry about it you're only using it to tell the time!".

    • @TonyTheTiger1516
      @TonyTheTiger1516 10 лет назад +6

someusername121 its a bloody race car tho a radio doesnt even belong in it to begin with, and its not a luxury car like a rolls royce then id be pissed. As long as it goes around a track fast and looks pretty im happy. Plus everyone that owns a pagani most likely has multiple other cars to use as daily drivers.

Wow, you got the essence why Pagani is so special, no BS PR talk, just a genuine Mastermind living his vision. Hats of to Horacio.
Most of today's supercars are just so synthetic, streamlined, with the exception of maybe Koenigsegg they are just a numbers game sadly (McL P1, La Ferrari, Porsche 918).

This guy is a boss, not one person can deny that. Getting a job at Lamborghini at 20; moving to Italy with nothing to pursue that dream in the first place, wow. ***** Thank you for the suggestion, it reaffirms what an automotive God Mr Pagani is. Starting with little more then the "fantasy of working hard", ambition and a friend with a garage. He has managed to make the most beautiful best performing cars ever made. Each car a collection of innumerable mechanical pieces of art all melded together into a fire belching , asphalt eating dream machine. well done Mr. Pagani . Also-A pox upon all who own one of these cars and don't drive it. They are made to be driven , you lucky Bastard.

I have to say that this is probably the most captivated that I have been on a historical account of a vehicle manufacturer. His passion and love for the shapes and pieces that went into his car design just inspire me to want to go out and create something. His drive never went away and he has created some of the most beautiful and some of the fastest vehicles ever created. His collaboration with Mercedes and AMG have produced some of the best performing supercars ever created. I hope that he never loses his drive and ambition to continue to create these masterpieces because the world needs people of his caliber. I am, and always will be, a die hard car fanatic, and Paganis' just have a style and level of performance that will never be equalled. Thank you so much Motor Trend!

MotorTrend, you seem to be on very good terms with many CEOs of these car companies. It would be great to have a "Nostalgia" or "Motor History" series where you find stories like this about prominent figures in the automotive industry (using the nice connections you seem to have) and bring those stories to life. I am not fortunate enough to have a mechanic as a father (not that I don't appreciate what my father does as an Astrophysicist), so I would LOVE to hear more stories like this about how people's lives have been affected by the automotive world and the passion that they have for it. Specifically about events that took place when the automotive industry was in it's infancy. The time period we live in is very unique in that we have highly capable editors and video recording technology available, while people who lived full and amazing lives are just at the end of life's journey. I think it would be an excellent idea to capitalize upon this fortunate time by trying to interview as many great people with stories like this as you can before all that's left is people who have been around technology their whole lives. Not to say that the stories of younger people aren't interesting, but more that people at the end of their lives have clearly had many more opportunities for unique experiences and much more time to reflect on and understand the experiences that they have had.

If I had the money my first call would undoubtably be to Mr Pagani. He has exactly what Ferrari and Lamborghini don't seem to be lacking which is a pure passion for what he builds. All Ferrari seems to do these days is sell keychains and T-shirts, and Lamborghini's are rebadged Audi's for the most part (Not that that is a bad thing for reliability purposes but there just doesn't seem to be that sense of passion with Lamborghini anymore). Look at the interior of this thing, it is sublime. Only Koenigsegg in my opinion shows passion in the same stratosphere as Pagani.

The guy took out a bank loan and bought an Autoclave for fixing carbon fiber with his own money? Pretty amazing. Some of the most successful businessmen are the ones who have a true passion for their product (i.e. Steve Jobs, Elon Musk) and start their companies not because they want to make money but because they want to bring cool stuff into existence.

The world needs more people like Horacio, people who will keep on going to make an incredible piece of art and power. The only thing I would change is the price tag.

Wow i am amazed of the level of production value some channels have on RUclips compared to shit like Top Gear USA. Anyone with love and passion for cars would rather watch art like this than the crap they show on TV. Keep up the fantastic job!

Watch Top Gear UK. Much better than the USA version, because UK is the real one.

NikoBell12 Yeah i know, love the original series. Jeremy and the boys deliver excellent television! Just curious what TV executive thinks that the US version is good. These guys deliver amazing content compared to that turd of a television show.

This story is incredible and beautiful, no matter how many times its told. Utterly gorgeous vehicles, and I can only imagine just staring at the instrument clusters in the cockpit to admire their exquisite and meticulous design.
