Though I forgot to take photos with it!! Maybe I'll make a quick follow-up testing all the time lapse modes and also take some pics. I just can't do that in this extreme heat. My phone will turn off from the temperature.

The 720R's release date has been pushed back until mid August. I'll include a purchase link along with a channel exclusive 10% off coupon as soon as it goes live for purchase.
Nice look at this one Ryan, I guess there must be a lot of discussion regarding the upcoming remote ID regulations. I’m surprised Holystone doesn’t have this one Pre installed with a remote ID considering they sell mostly in the USA and I’m sure their sales are going to suffer somewhat
The law requires drone makers to include one or have it already installed over 249g. I just bought this one and the remote ID shows $89 but Holy Stone is sending them out for free after you purchase. You just have to call them and takes a couple days. I don’t think they advertise it.
Nice break down Ryan ! You do an excellent job at showing us these features through screen record and stuff. I am so horrible at that! I agree with you that the dronie feature is set way to high. You’d think maybe that they would at least give you height options as a starting point for doing this maneuver. The other features seemed to work well enough. Seems like a good over all package to me too @ $300, and with coupons if offered, a much better deal! 👍🏻😎👊🏼
Thanks Robby! It is a lot of work. Syncing up the multiple video clips is such a pain. I'm glad you appreciate it. This is why I prefer reviewing cars because they are much easier and much less video clips to work with lol
Agreed though it is much closer to the FIMI in quality than the Mini 2. I also own both of those drones and I agree that both drones are better but the mini 2 is clearly the superior choice out of the 3.
It has a really great camera, the footage all looked really nice and very stable. I am sure the features just take some time to get used to and get the settings right. It seemed very accurate on the return to home as well, I mean within a foot or so of the landing pad seems come enough to me!
Agreed Addam and it would be a great first drone for a lot of people like yourself lol. You may get the drone itch though but it is a nice change of pace from the cars too lol
@@RDsRCReviews I'm a professional photographer I noticed right away,. but you actually don't have to be a pro, just compare sky on the camera that you are filming with your video and the video in the corner from the drone and you will see, its more purple and more hazy/blurry
@@lldd11 this isn't a high end camera drone I did notice it wasn't the greatest. I wouldn't fly this drone for anything involving professional photography. You would want a DJI or Autel for that. I mostly use my DJI Mini 2 since my Autel EVO broke but if I were to get into professional aerial photography I would get a Mavic 3 Pro. The 720R has some cool features but you won't be much better off getting a Mini 2 especially since you need a Remote ID on the 720R if you live in the USA and the Mini 2 weighing 249g doesn't require one
Here’s my take on it after flying mine First it advertised 1.8 mile range. Not close. Maybe 3/4 of a mile and then range runs out and returns to home. Second thing, which is the biggest issue. You get 26 minutes flight time that they advertise, but they don’t advertise that after 26 minutes it takes 6-8 hours to recharge. Most drones max 2 hours to recharge. Not this one. 6-8 hours. And that’s not just mine. I called holystone because I thought my battery may be bad. The customer service told me yup, 6-8 hours every 26 minute flight time
Yeah, No way it's getting 26 mins either. Maybe 18-20. Sometimes the advertised flight time is for both batteries combined. You can never take the stats verbatim from any drone manufacturer especially the Amazon drones which are notorious for exaggerating. No, it can't fly 1.8 miles since it's WiFi based. I had no issues at 1/2 mile but that's about as far as you can expect to fly. Even if you could fly 1.8 miles the video feed lag would be so bad that you wouldn't be able to fly it well. Their new HS360S uses a different tech that isn't based on WiFi. It is supposed to get 10k meters and it's possible that it can actually achieve that.

Great video, Ryan. I've noticed that HS has removed the Headless Mode Feature like on the HS720G and others, which is usually in the Multifunction Settings, unless they have moved it to a different location on the APP.
They likely did remove it since headless mode is rather useless on a gps drone since if you get your orientation mixed up you can just stop and let your drone hover until you get your whereabouts. Headless mode is only useful with manual flying toys though even then I don't recommend using it because it doesn't teach you how to fly. Thanks for watching!!
