    So this comment i actually posted months ago but to the wrong video, and i just now realized this...Dude, i hate myself for finding your video after sinking money into this drone. I truly didnt have hardly a problem one with this drone until 40 to 50 flights in. Like you, i also calibrated gyro and compass before each and every flight and never experienced much of any toliet bowl type effect, the laggy control input reaction was always noticeable but not intolerable by anymeans, at least for me and this being basically the only real drone ive had experience with. But then randomly in the middle of flight one evening the thing does one high speed massive arc into a heavily wooded area, and would not respond to any controller input, the end result was basically a dangling gimbal and a cracked arm. I called holystone and they said theyd do a one time replacement, but not until i had to pay the 67 dollars of shipping and send them the tracking number. Ive since recieved my replacement and within the first 10 flights the same thing happened to where suddenly it said the compass seemed to be off and it blasted another tree, this time the rear end of the drone has a crack down the entire tail end of the drone. Also just recently one kf the two batteries supplied became defective, it shows its got a charge connection but refuses any actual increase in the batteries charge. I have never watched a more spot on review of anything ever before in my life. At first, i thought this review was going to be like every other video ive seen of the hs 600, stating how great of a drone it was especially at its price point. Im slightly bummed i spent the 400+ dollars on this drone that led me to your video, but your honesty was refreshing and i hope anyone considering this drone or any drone made by this company watches this video 1ST.

      First, I want to say I appreciate the kind words about my review. Conducting reviews on any drone, let alone drones that perform like this one did (not great), is a time-consuming and sometimes tedious process -- so the appreciation goes a long way for me. Thank you.
      As for your experience with the HS600, I am really sorry you're going through such a tough time with it. I CONSTANTLY get people dogging me for recommending DJI and Autel consumer products (think Mini, Nano, Air, etc.) as "beginner drones," because they think the price tag rules them out of the "beginner" conversation. It's a frustrating gripe I deal with because first, DJI has options that are priced at or around where the HS600 is priced (DJI Mini 4K, for example, is $300); second, DJI drones are MUCH more reliable when it comes to consistent flying experience -- something you don't get with a product from Holy Stone or a similar company where every time you power the drone on it's a mixed bag as to what kind of flight you are going to have.
      I ALWAYS recommend people just getting started go out and buy a DJI or Autel drone. You're going to get the best value for your dollar when it comes to longevity and performance and you're almost guaranteed to have a drone that will fly reliably and safely each and every time you put it in the air as long as you are doing your due diligence as an RPIC to keep it in good working order.
      My suggestion, if you haven't already, ditch the HS600. Cut your losses and grab a DJI or Autel. I promise the experience will be 20x what you are going through right now and you'll pay as much or maybe just a little bit more than you did for your Holy Stone.

    It works well for me. Fly it in windy conditions often without issues. Return to home works well. 4k video is very stable. Battery lasts long enough for some good footage (20 mins no problem) flies decently fast, feels pretty durable in my bag (not worried about it in the backpack even though I don't keep it in the supplied hard case.) And Overall I can't complain. Got mine on Amazon for $229 with 2 batteries in Feb 2024

    I felt the same way about the HS 360S. Had the toilet bowl effect, unpredictable flights. To their credit their customer service has been outstanding. I’ve since purchased the HS 900, and so far I have been quite impressed

    My first drones in 2021 were all Holystones. This was for the first 6 months. They all flew wonky and crashed or flew away (and probably crashed). Holystone's customer service is fantastic! They kept sending me replacements even after I told them to stop! I'm flying a Ruko F11 which I bought in Dec 2021 and a Veeniix V11 which I got in April this year. I just ordered an HS 600 because it's beefy like the F11 and V11 drones. It looks a lot like the V11. The camera shutter on the HS 600 is identical to that on the V11. My V11 just started toilet bowling last week, when my KP index was less than 2. My F11 should be replaced by the F11 Pro (which to me is identical to the old F11. I should get my HS 600 tomorrow. I hope it doesn't fly wonky like my previous Holystone drones. Great review!

    I love this drone so much, and I don’t agree with any of the cons. It is vary stable and just a great drone and I fly it decently aggressively and the battery life last the full 56 mins for me 😂. Also the intelligent flight mode works perfect

    I've been fine my holy stone HS 600 for the past month now and I have had no toilet bowl I have had no struggle and 20 to 30 mile an hour winds at 50 to 60 ft all the way up to 200 ft I had no problem at even came home when I hit the home button and landed within a half a foot of its takeoff position so far this has been the best drone that I have flown in quite a while.

    I recently purchased the HS600. It was $280 on Amazon. I have own cheaper drones. I do like the controls on it. I have not used higher end ones so I cant compare as I am sure they are better. I got this one to become more comfortable with maneuvering and making different video shots angles for my social media channels. I have onwed it for a week now. I have experienced the "toilet bowl" I do not like that when you lightly press forward it swings back fairly dramatically. Which makes video a liittle rough. Batttery time length would be better. I am happy with it overall but I do plan on upgrading in the near future.

    Hey Chris great honest review. I had a HS600 and it seemed to work well for my needs until I flew about 3000 FT. I lost connection and hit the home button as I sprinted in the direction. I can't find it anywhere. I just received the 720R 3 gimble. I am about to launch it now. Anyway you mentioned in your video that there are plenty of other options. Can you share those other options that are comparable to the HS600 and HS720R? thank you Chris

    Great review Chris. HolyStone have been in the game for a while now. Some of their quads have decent cameras on them and are pretty good but others not so good... I do hear their new HS900 is the business, hopefully you can do a review on that one. 👍🏻👍🏻

    New to your channel, loving the content so far. I do have a question, which app are you using for the remote id? I have used Holy Stone before, great starter drones but like you said, not to go professional with.

      I appreciate the kind words! I use DroneScanner for my Remote ID detection in this video (I hardly actually use it other than pure curiosity “in the wild”), but as far as Remote ID broadcast modules…I use what’s onboard my drones when I fly (Mavic 3/Mini 4 Pro/Avata)…outside of that? Well, you know…😉

      @@TheDroneGeek thank you very much!! I also was wondering on how FAA would enforce it and thats the reason why I have been courios about this. I did see you video on the FAA response and feel the same way, we need to know how it will be enforced so that we can be able to make sure we are doing it the right way. Dont want to get hit with a fine and no one has real proof of it.

      @@Sloth_FZ6R Holy Stone and Ruko and some others are just existing models they put their name ( and too high price) on. Now I'm not completely sure if only the 'Holy Clone' is equipped with Remote ID and the original is not? I still would never buy one though. Why would I want to pay double the price?

    • @Sloth_FZ6R
      @Sloth_FZ6R 6 месяцев назад

      @driewiel I stopped using Holy Stone way before the remote id mandate so I really would not be sure if they are implementing them on their devices.

      @@Sloth_FZ6R Remote ID for hobby drones is an absolute disgrace. It's not going to make things safer. On the contrary. They will steal your ID, and you get punished.

    Thank you so much for the review!!! I was most definitely going to buy this drone (2 batteries) from Temu for $259. It is my first drone, but I have piloted rc helicopters. I would love to know your opinion of which drones to buy in the $500 or so class range.

    I had got this drone and i had to return it because it seemed like it was defective. I had followed the calibration process and all as directed and when i had took off, it all of a sudden flew and hit my house and it did it twice and i had damaged it and i didnt even touch the joystick like that. Im getting another one and hope this one isn't detective.

    Holy Stone my be popular on Amazon and Walmart, but on RUclips, 99% of drone videos are Pushing DJI! Everyone is pushing DJI!!
    I really like my HS360S and was looking for another Holey Stone but all the reviews seem to give them reviews that are less than good! I have no problem with the HS photo sweeparound! I hate rap, so........but good review.

      It must be my unit then -- which is a shame because they really should have given it a once-over before sending it to somebody to review on RUclips...but, if it happened to mine, it is liable to happen to other folks' drones too...so definitely something to be aware of...that said, I'm glad yours worked well!

    The reason it sucks in the wind is because of the lack of precision GPS... Holy Stone has had a long time problem with this...and doesn't seem to be much better on their sub 299.00 drones... Just Saiyan I have been building and flying my own drones for 15 years... there are better out there in this price range....

    • @TheDroneGeek
      @TheDroneGeek  5 месяцев назад +1

      I couldn't agree more. It's not a TERRIBLE drone...but it's certainly not far above "poor." I'd say cost-to-performance, I'd put Holy Stone in the "below average" category. The GPS is obviously a very cheap one and time and time again it showed that.

  • @michaelbuck8884
