Thanks for the video. It was a big help. I have a 2009 base 4x4. It proves that you can teach an old dog, like me, new tricks. I am also installing an intermittent wiper switch. Should have done it long ago.
Awesome! I got some on order for my taco too. Definitely makes the front end look better and more practical as we get alot of fog here where I'm from. Im not sure if I can get a add a fuse here I know they aren't expensive what would you suggest ? Maybe if you get a minute you can send a link of one i could get ? Cheers
Hey Man, you won’t need an Add a Fuse, I found another way to get power through the fuses under the dash. Send me a quick email at odbrisuela36@gmail.com and I’ll send you a picture of my current setup!
Oh yeah! Here’s the exact link to the fog light kit I used: www.1aauto.com/2005-11-toyota-tacoma-fog-light-kit-diy-solutions-lht01077/i/1alfz00061/1069536/2005
Hey Isaac, I got the wiring harness with the fog lights. It was sold as a kit. You could check out the link in the description to purchase the whole kit. If you need just the wiring harness kit, you could also find it specifically for your Tacoma, there should be some available online.
In my case I wasn’t getting the proper fuse connection to turn on the whole system. At first I tried connecting the add-a-fuse to the fuse box under the dash and thought my kit was defective since it didn’t turn on the lights. (I think it may have been the type of fuses I used in the Add-a-fuse). I then discovered that my kit was perfectly functioning but I had to resort to getting the proper fuse connection from the engine bay fuse box. I recommend trying to find a working fuse slot through the fuse box under the dash first. If that doesn’t work then mimic my setup.
Thanks for asking! Yes, I definitely plan on getting a lift sooner than expected. I really want to keep my wheels and just upgrade my tires but I will be posting this project pretty soon... So stay tune!
Hey Michael, good question. So there are two types of fog light designs for the 2nd Generation Tacoma. The first design falls into the 2005-2011 year Tacomas. And the 2012-2015 Tacomas have a smaller redesign. Below, I have attached the two links of the two different fog light designs for the 2nd Gen tacos. Then you can find OEM or custom fog lights similar to what you need. 2005-2011 Tacoma style fog lights: www.suncentauto.com/torchbeam-fog-lights-assembly-for-2005-2011-tacoma-2004-2006-solara-2008-2015-sequoia-2007-2013-tundra-fog-light-assembly-replacement-with-bulb-waterproof-ip.html 2012-2015 Tacoma style fog lights: www.topgearautosport.com/152370/toyota-tacoma-2012-2016-fog-lights Hope this helps!
Hey man, I am running on 2008 Toyota RAV4 17 inch wheels. They have the same lug bolt pattern of 5X114.3 and I think they look much better than the, smaller 15 inch, factory steel wheels.
Great question! It is common for some Tacoma’s to have a pre-installed OEM wiring. In your case, you need three things: the fog lights, a 12volt relay, and a OEM switch to power your fog lights. Hope this helps! If you have any questions feel free to message me on Instagram @theyotaduo.
This video was so helpful. Clear and straight to the point! Thank you :))
Glad to hear it helped you out!
Very precise video! Not too long, not too short. Love it! 💪🏽
Thank you! Glad it helped you! ;)
Thanks brotha I just finished mine and from your help I actually accomplished it! Much respect and nice truck

I just did my intermittent wiper switch yesterday - Took about 15 minutes and like you, I should have done it years ago....
Nice and simple thanks this going to help out a lot with my base Tacoma build
No problem man!
Don't mind my bumper! I will be repainting the bumper soon. Stay tuned for the bumper restoration!

What harness did you use mine just had switch on end not a switch that needed seperate power so mine dont turn on
Where did you get that front sticker!? I want... I want
Hey, It was just a 2inch by 3 inch TRD sticker from Amazon. Lol it only cost me like $5.
Inside there is a 20 amp fuse for 4WD, if yo do not have 4WD than you can use tha spot. I installed fog lights for mine and it worked fine.
Good to know!
This is gonna be fun! Where did you find your fog light kit at? Thanks!

Hey I was wondering where u got those cables

I must be dense as I just can't find a way to remove the insert(s) that fill the holes for the fog lights....any help on this relatively simple task?
I didn’t have as hard of a time removing the inserts, I just fiddled with it a bit. I would say try using a tool to pry with maybe like a flathead!
Can't be too tough.. one of mine fell out, which is why I'm here! 😂
What do u mean u didnt find power inside the truck opposed to the fusebox in the hood? Power to light up the button?

@@theyotaduo thanks bro i figured out the problem i didnt see the other grounding wire near the light lmao.
So just pop off the caps in the fog light area and instal after market right?
That’s correct. Super simple and probably easier with a screwdriver in hand. 💯
Any plans on getting bigger tires and wheels? As well as a lift?
Thanks for asking! Yes, I definitely plan on getting a lift sooner than expected. I really want to keep my wheels and just upgrade my tires but I will be posting this project pretty soon... So stay tune!
Is there a specific model or style for the dog lights that you got from A1 auto?? And price range? So I can save up for everything 😂

@@MichaelMonsanto We appreciate it man! Stay tuned for more content!
@@theyotaduo That may explain why my wiring harness is different and I have 3 wires for the light switch. I have a 2013 base cab.
Very nice, good job
Thank you, I appreciate it!
ayee I’m interested in getting a Toyota Tacoma is it worth it?
The most reliable and the easiest truck to work on! This is the only truck you should ever buy!
Also, email me at odbrisuela36@gmail.com if you have specific questions about the Tacoma. We can go into more details on which trim best suits you.
What kind of rims does your truck have

what kind of the fuse do you use for?
Hey Bosco, sorry for the late response. But I have emailed you and sent a couple of pictures that you can reference.
@@theyotaduo i would like to know too. Thanks
Great. Thanks
Dang man it would’ve looked sick lowered
What if I already have the OEM wiring?
