Yes, I agree with your comments. The tempo here is faster, and it seems like almost a perfunctory performance, but it’s just another time when Angelina fits the situation with her version of the song. She just gets up there and sings better than any 8 year old ever. She handles the interview so easily. She is already a veteran of these situations at 8 years old.
At the beginning, there was so much brightness in her "hi".
The other factor is her self confidence, how many adults could face that interview with that level of cool?

Her word pronunciation, tone, and maybe a hint of accent have drawn me in for the last 5 years. It's hard to pinpoint what it is but AJ is mesmerising.
I love the subtle fluctuation in her volume and she keeps the faster pace at this early age. And the end is great. She is so cute as well at this age.

This is probably the fastest version from her that I've heard. She likes to slow things down, and apparently had to persuade the guitarist on The View to take it slower before she was satisfied. Here she probably just went along with what the hosts were doing. But it this really live? An 8-year-old on a late-night show? Oh well, I guess Angelina can sing anything anytime. She's a true professional after all.

When she was on The View later in the year, her tempo was much slower, and her phrasing was way more subtle and expressive.

This is actually the starting point among the many Fly me to the moon's and it shows very nicely how quickly the development progressed at that early time.
"Gloomy Sunday" audition was in fact prerecorded months before it was broadcast on March 7th 2014, so it was still 7 years old at that time. TV2 broadcast a total of seven shows with auditions starting in January and the last one was broadcast on March 21st, earlier in the day than this appearance of Angelina on the late night show.
Within those 14 days, Angelina's audition video already had 5 million views on YT (which is the number of inhabitants of Norway). This talk show appearance was four weeks BEFORE the semifinals and six months before The View on ABC and you can only marvel at the progress in that short time.
Obviously it is faster than on The View, but she still had enough room for a perfect ending here. There is a short clip from the rehearsal, so there was actually time to teach the guitarist the right speed ruclips.net/video/HNcqWGHLS84/видео.html . She had already slowed it down in Kongsberg at Barnivalen and also at the company concert.

As for the interview - the confidence and naturalness with which this child performs here is amazing and the joy of actually being able to sing "for the whole world", live on prime time on national television, is obvious. This talk show was quite popular in Norway and several times had more than one million viewers, so it's a big "stage" and more importantly: the two hosts were well known to children and young people, so Angelina certainly felt comfortable having well-known people as interviewers.
And you can feel the enthusiasm of the presenters, especially Thomas Numme. While Harald Rønneberg is a humorist, Thomas is more than a trained radio/TV journalist. He was the presenter at NRK for Children's and youth TV programs and led both "Melodi Grand Prix Junior" competition on NRK as well as Norwegian version of „Idol“ on TV2.
Like Angelina he took piano lessons as a child and also learned to play the guitar early on. In the late 1980s, Numme was vocalist, guitarist and songwriter in the band “The Legends”. In the early 1990s, he was the frontman, vocalist and songwriter in the band “Karius&Baktus”. So he was able to assess this performance very well from a musical point of view.
btw this talk show recording has collected 20 million views within the last ten years.

@@most2dot0 Good to know, and it actually works. But then there is a lot to do, because there are a few such full-concert videos that could be tagged. The point is, up to now the individual songs in such videos could not be found using the filters.
And it is good to know that criticism is accepted, I would also like to see at least one or two corrections regarding inappropriate event titles.
@@paulwagner9303 Try to mail him your suggestions, he has the email address on the site. He asked me to include the songs database id number for reference, which is in the normally 1st hidden "#" column. You can select the "columns" buttom on the right top of the table heading to unhide it.

Remember this was just after her Norway win so it's not certain how many times she had actually sang this song if st all before she decided to sing it here. But I love your analysis of her even though sometimes we as fans that have heard her so many years have seen just about everything she has ever performed because grandma Merry films it all lol She is relaxed about the music,not so relaxed about being on National tv😊

Reading the comments yesterday how many people around the world have been touched by Angelinas music. These testimonies could make a concrete block get goosebumps and the inevitable tears if they had ears and eyes. Thank you for your honest and sincere reactions to Angelina. Million miles is one of her originals. Her first original released under her label Republic records. Dedicated to her grandfather after his passing and directly responsible for her being signed by Republic at the age of 14.
Please consider reading the comments under her official studio recording of Million miles when you have the time because it will help you knowing the depth of her influences in many dealing with pain and suffering.
Angelina recently released a documentary where she explained how she realized at The age of eight that her music is bigger than just about herself. Truer words have never been spoken in my opinion.
