@Jav Mar it wasnt just that tj left, it was also how he left. One of the last things that tj did with team alpha male was use an illegal knee in sparring with one of their up and comers named Chris holdsworth that concussed him so badly that he literally never recovered and it ended his career. Holdsworth won the ultimate fighter, won his next fight, then he never fought again because of post-concussion syndrome.

    and he needs technical improvements

Absolutely he should've chosen Trevor but he trains only 2-3 pupils max cause he gives his 100% attention . Apart from the gameplan and boxing , the biggest thing he works on is Mentality , he makes mentality monsters and only takes championship level athletes and Cody is former champ and should join him and what will make easier is Ali being his manager as well as Kamaru and Justin .

He just kept losing confidence and the giant reach disadvantage made all the difference. The ONLY reason Cody lost was because Rob could land his longer Jab constantly. If their reach was identical then that jab wouldn’t have been as potent and Cody could trade much easier. Cody needs to work on his footwork and exchange entries.

Man, as a fan of Cody, it hurt to see that performance. Cody definitely looked like he lost a step in there. I wonder if it was a conditioning issue post-COVID or what but he didn't look like himself in there. Coulda been Rob's reach advantage too. And none of that is to take away from Rob, it's not easy to pick someone like Cody apart and do for 5 rounds. Consistently landing that jab and putting together beautiful combos. Maybe it just wasn't Cody's night. Just bummed because Cody is better than what we saw out there against Rob.

This is such a duplicitous sport we love. It's so exciting to see new prospects rise through the ranks and succeed, and yet so painful to watch your favorite fighters who were once at the top wither from the days of their brightest bloom. This sport is so poetic and artistic. People who love MMA will understand. Casuals see it as "cage fighting", but to me, it is one of the most beautiful things on the planet to see which seeds grow tallest in competition, and which wither under the heat. It is truly amazing to me and nothing in the world excites me like combat sports. These athletes are dearly beloved and respected by me. People overuse the word "love", but i truly love the beauty of this sport. There is nothing more pure than one on one combat.

So many fighters have said that they consider him family and that he's made a lot of sacrifices for them on a personal level and to help their careers, even to the point of giving up his comission.
