- The RS5 has some big updates for 2021 and Audi is ready for the competition from BMW and the NEW M4. Under the hood is a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 that produces 444HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside there is a new front fascia, grill, sheetmetal and wheels. On the inside you will find the nearly perfect sport seats, steering wheel and virtual cockpit. Is the NEW 2021 Audi RS5 the BETTER performance car to BUY?

I saved up for 10 years to be able to afford my dream car (Nissan gtr) after driving it for a month I was beside myself on how uncomfortable and ridged the ride was. I ended up trading it in for a 18’ RS 5. Better car in every way IMO.

now its my time to save up for 10 years for a RS5, hopefully they still run on gas
Imagine buying a gtr and complaining about the ride quality you buy those cars to go fast maybe you should’ve considered a luxury car in the first place if ride quality was that big of a factor..

Should have kept the GTR. In 4 years the RS5 will be worth like $32k while the GTR will be over $70k
What I love about your videos is I can just forward to the part where you are sitting in the driver's seat and boom, find out the price of the car. So handy and will always keep me coming back if I'm interested in a car you are reviewing.
Joe, love your reviews man. The way break down the car in sections and give your input. You give a good deal information and I appreciate that as a consumer. Most car reviewers just want views and just make their videos more about entertainment and persona rather than thoroughly reviewing the car like this

Joe, the reason the seats do not have cooling is because Audi uses premium Nappa leather in the RS5 which is too soft to put in the perforations needed for the cooling systems. I prefer to have the premium leather to sit on all the time than a cooling system I only would use for a few minutes each time mostly during summer.
I like the screen. It is very high definition, has great tactile feedback, is easy to reach and right in the driver’s line of sight. I am not as fond of the console integrated but low screens in the upper series Audis. And I much prefer that Audi has kept a mix of button/dial and screen based functions here rather than go all touchscreen.
In years past, the screens were retractable but this is subject to wear and tear issues. As the screen has become more integral to the functioning of the car, I suspect they did not want to risk having a screen get stuck in the closed position.
Those functions that are best used with a touchscreen (think Car Play or Android for example) you could not adapt for the Virtual Cockpit display in such a convenient manner.
Overall, though, a very nice review. The comparable BMW and MB cars have bigger engines so they are marginally faster. But we are talking about fractions of seconds. I think the choice comes down to whether that small difference really matters to you or the design, tech implementation, versatility and styling matter more. At this level, all three will knock you back into your seat.

Wow. Totally sinister with the black optics package. The 6 piston Brembos look great up against the black wheels. And I love the paddles...finally they did something with them! That thing is a beast and would love to take it for a spin. Great review man!

Finally a proper exterior black pack including rims... One thing I really liked about the A3 is that the infotainment screen retracts into the dash. If you don't have an integrated screen, its a nice way to hide the big screen if you aren't using it.

A few weeks ago I rode in an older v8 rs5 convertible with a titanium armytrix exhaust and it was insanely loud and the owner did launch control with me in it and I filmed it all! Rs5s looks really clean! 👌

I know it dose not even compare, but I own and love a 2013 Audi S5 cabriolet prestige. It is not a hot rod, but it is plenty fast with its supercharged V6 for my wife to drive. I have also owned a 2001 Audi S8 which was a fun car too. Thanks for the Vlog Joe. That car is awesome. Although I'm a CTS-V guy and want a C8 Z06, Audi brings the bang. Those performance numbers are unreal to me for a V6...Incredible, and then you have the mileage. Wow!

Hi Joe, I picked up aMythos Black 2023 RS5 Sportback this week ans wanted to see if you did a review. I found this review of the 2021 Coupe, so I figure you wouldn't do the new for 23 Sportback, since not much is different. I did do the Carbon package, so the front, side, rear spoilers and side mirrors are Carbon. I enjoyed your reviews and now have to listen to a few Raiti wannabe reviews, that just aren't the same. I always learn something new in your reviews and appreciate your style.

Yes, since most of us does not have the experience of a professional driver/reviewer that gets to push cars to their limit all the time. Yet, the RS5 lets you do spirited driving with much less risk of a mishap VS a M4 or C63S.
Another Great Review!! I'm going to zonk the drive select being moved off the steering wheel, the very reserved exhaust, the placement of the infotainment screen and the lack of a widebody option. Everything else is absolutely gorgeous!! One thing I wanted to point out from the first generation V8 model is that horsepower is slightly down, but torque is way up.

I have been very fortunate to have own a RS5 before and it’s hands down my favorite car I have ever own I hope one day I can get my hands on one of these. I love RS5 it is such a lovely car to drive you have so much traction and the sound system was so amazing.

Also this car doesn’t have ventilated seats but that’s because it’s got massage seats instead. I’d rather have heated and massage seats then heated and cooled seats especially since I live in a state where it’s always snowing and cold lol. Anyways awesome video like always Joe!

Love the RS5... it just looks so mean yet elegant, especially in black.
I just can't help but notice that my GLI has the exact same stainless steel pedals. I do love them though and wouldn't be mad if I had an RS5 with those - at least they are giving us a dead pedal cover!

Just picked up a sportback in tango red, she’s a blast! Honestly, I hated that they didn’t have the infotainment integrated at first (the RS7 looks great) but found the placement is actually kinda perfect for me. Barely have to glance away from the road to do anything.
I have an S5 Sportback in blue and this RS5 in Nardo gray. You are quite right about the screen placement. Much better placement than the integrated but too low screens in the higher series models.

You are 100% on point I’m also going to zonk the fake flares on the front, infotainment for sure wish it could go into the dash and don’t get me started on not having the V8. I think it would look great with the RS7 wheels but don’t think it’s worth 90k even tho I think it’s really epic, I’ll prob take the hatch.
The problem with the Audi in dash screens and those of done other brands is that they often remove your level of sight from the road or are hard to reach. The virtual cockpit display behind the steering wheel is not suitable for touchscreen functionality so it is great for what it does do, but not for things like Car Play and Android, or any other function that is easiest with a finger.
This blacked version is winning my heart right now I could cry!!!
