I appreciate the review, probably the best review of the new RS5, keep it up! Regarding the other comments, I think people have to start understanding that Audi is not a one-person company. They spend very large amounts of money to find out what their customers want. In addition, they have to somehow diversify their portfolio. I think they did a hell of a good job here. Most journalists have commented that this new RS5 is miles better than the old one in all aspects but sound. I know sound is pretty important in this segment. I love great sounding cars. Still, I want to go for this RS5 because it fits my needs best. All-weather capabilities, enormous pace (for goodness sake, RBR even compared it to the R8 - you cannot argue with that, really, can you? :P), reasonable practicality (which I need) and a nice sound. Yes, if I lived in Dubai, this would probably be too overshadowed in the crowds of Lambos and other exotics, even for my taste (I like under-the-radar cars). But I don´t. So I will enjoy the noise and the car. The hell I will. Maybe an exhaust mod, but otherwise, for my needs, this is a clear winner in its class. But the M4 and C63 are still wonderful cars in my eyes. Just this one is best FOR ME.
At last a sensible car reviewer for grown ups, and not more puerile chatter from the latest crop of car 'experts'! Thank you, thank you and thank you again.
looks perfect , the car would've been better if it had the option to disconnect the front wheel and make it 2WD just like the BMW you have the option to decide between AWD and 2WD.
Odd. The previous car had chassis complaints saying the motor was great (although weaker compared to rivals with turbocharged motors). This next gen is what Audi thought on paper would be great (turbo motor to deal with journalist complains on lack of low end torque) and better chassis for handling but now people are complaining the motor doesn't sound good or feel exhilarating. I do think the theatrics are poor for an RS car and even with a V6, they could have made it sound better. Stupid how on a RS car or even an AMGS model they have a "sports exhaust" option. These guys are greedy. Why cater to the demographic that wants a quieter RS, it just blows my mind. I can see a sports exhaust as more of an option for the S-line where there is more of market of enthusiasts who may just want the extra performance without any of the theatrics but still...greed. Also, spec'd out I am hearing that this car can cost close to a 100 grand lol? That's just stupidity.
Faisal Hassan yeah this car makes no sense to me 😂 between the price , V6 , and looks .. I just can't seem to like this car no matter how much I try. They've honestly dropped the ball as far as the RS5 goes.
Great review/impressions, as expected. Was excited for this car. Shame about the lack of exhaust note but hoping the companies mentioned, along with AWE, can work their magic
Engine performance and usability is great, I agree the main issue is the noise of lack of. Steering feel is meh, weakest point for me. Breaking is brilliant. It's clinical, dead efficient, not so dramatic but in Sportback to be used daily and with a kid...it's fantastic.
really good vid, I'm getting fed up of the usual "quips" and silly comments that seem to be the norm! this was refreshing and great to have someone talk normal and "understand" the mechanics and feel of driving. well worth clicking on the sub button!
Hey Mister, you mentioned the really tough butch guy with a squeaky voice..... was it Mike Tyson or Daniel Dubois you were talking about? No matter... I know what you mean. I would have an RS5 on my wish list any day. Good video.
Putting some miles on it will get the exhaust louder and more robust. But agreed, I just got the S5 SportBk, and would like a bit more sound, but it is clean, sounds great down shiffting w/paddles, and pops and crackles are there whenever you want them. Super car all around, S or RS ...really not much difference. Plan to chip/ECU flash mine as soon as GIAC releases something. Until then plenty quick, and the torque vectoring sport diff is a blast!!
Audi came up short with this generation. A twin turbo V8 as in the S7 would have been appropriate. The V6 sounds terrible. As a former S5 owner, count me out on this one!
Hi Raz, As I understood you have had both of the cars (Mercedes-Benz C63s Coupe AMG and Mercedes-Benz E63s AMG) for personal use. I would like to ask your opinion on which car is it better to choose between these two? I do really like both of them and not sure for which one to go. What is your suggestion? Thanks
Any plans to road test the new RS4? Joe Achilles and the rest of the RUclipsrs, all seem to love it, commenting that it drives better than the RS5, plus of course it’s more iconic and certainly more practical. C63 wouldn’t see which way one went on a wet, bendy B road. As for the virtual cockpit, although I’ve not driven it yet, I have a VAG mechanic friend who said he felt “a bit sea sick” using it. Suppose you can just have the large central speedo
One of the reasons I had the RS6 was because of the sound but this new shape RS5 just doesn’t do it for me. It was a real monster before but as everything is eventually going to be electric I think it's a shame to lose the V8 so quickly regardless of the amount of power this thing kicks out.
I thought I was the only who hates that fart sound, since quite a lot of people like it. It farts, it is terrible and embarrassing. A good sound should sound like this here: ruclips.net/video/rM6zh3Nmm5s/видео.html
I hate the recent 'pop and crackle' trend. makes a car sound unrefined, as if bits and pieces are breaking apart inside. maybe teenagers are the target demographic.
That has to be the best analogy ever at the end. Nice looking car but I think for me Audi have missed the ball with this new RS5. The outgoing RS5 had presents and sound and this new one just doesn't... On a price point being the most expensive of the three when optioned almost £100k it's just to much for to little. I'm Shute it will sell though... C63s coupe 1 addition and the M4 CP just wipe, the floor with this.... Great content as always 👍
This car needs another exhaust... Audi must do something to it. Maybe in the next model year! But the rest of the car is gorgeous, just not a big fan of that spec.. too much silver and white! Again I'd rather have an S6/S7 as a cruiser instead of a RS5.. but again an exhaust will change a lot! Proper review mate, love your vids
Call me old fashion!,.. but!, I still prefer the analog gauges than the all digital-screen-simulator. Soon all cars will have those digital flat screen leaving us with a nostalgic feeling.
another great video, well done ! I'd take the C63s or M4 any days over the RS5 ... truly gutted to see the same powertrain going into the upcoming RS4 :(
Another killer video buddy! I'm really not sold on this RS product. Also don't think Audi's virtual cockpit is the future, a good HUD makes loads more sense in reality. Absolutely love the Summary hahaha
Considering that all the other automakers have moved to digital clusters and the HUD have at least 30 years in the business and never has really make it, I would say yes, IT IS THE FUTURE
I think people are making to much of the lack of exhaust noise , think about it when you are in a car on a long drive loaud exhaust noise would drive me crazy . Also the exhaust sounds would get in the way of your music enjoyment .
The problem with this RS5 is that it's not qualified to wear the badge. It's too heavy to be competitive with BMW and MB offers and cost too much to be justified.
I heard there are new restrictions for exhaust volumes. So car manufacturers have to abide by these regulations when designing a NEW car. I guess this will happen with the upcoming M4, C63,... as well. LET’S HOPE NOT!
I own one of the last real RS5s you could order. I would never buy that new vacuum cleaner. Boring as hell. Next car will be an AMG. GT63 or S63 Coupé. You know, I drove an S5 and wanted to buy a new car back then. What happened? 8 cylinder reduced to 6. Ok, so I bought the RS5. Now it‘s the same crap again. No thanks Audi. An RS is not supposed to care about CO2 or fuel consumption. It‘s a damn RS. Put a bi turbo on the RS5 V8 and I’m back.
Look I'm an Audi fan. I did 6 years in the dealer but... Let's just say it out loud... This car is not impressive! Mid sized Coupe should be loud fast and a little obnoxious just like the 8 cylinder one. This is not a 6,7 or 8 no need for it to be a tea cup. Are you being nice complementing the car cause there is a big difference in your face and tone from this video to the new AMG E63 video. I don't think you should trash Audi, no one should but let's ask for more from Audi. More cars like the RS7 please.
For Audi RS, this is definitely is not impressive, if you watch all reviews of this car from different motoring journalists, there are quite a few areas were it is far behind the C63 and miles behind the M4, he has been kind to this car because he is a true car guy and because it’s an Audi it is a good car, just not close enough to the competition.
An interestingly balanced perspective, tainted by the unnecessary and childish summary at the end, which was just - really weird. It seemed crowbarred in there.
This is almost certainly the engine variant that will be used in the new S7, hope it sounds better than this. I've driven this car, it's crazy fast but the sound sucks.
Hi, recently almost everyone making car videos follow a terrible new trait. Very quickly, there is no such thing as "pound feet" of torque. In an automobile, an engine's torque is measured in foot pounds at the crankshaft, or the chassis can have the torque rated at the wheel. All that said, on a humourous note, "pound feet" is what one does after their car breaks down miles from living people.
RS5 is all about the 0-60 acceleration. It’s a heavy luxury car that gets off the line quickly due to AWD and good torque, but not a sports car. Fun factor is so so (the old 4.2 V8 is more fun), but it’s a beauty. Do I want one? Yes!
What do you think of the RS5's new purpose? Does it work as a GT car?
I rather take the Lexus LC 500 over this
I used to love the look of it, and while I'm sure it's still awesome that front end looks too much like a Ford Fusion.
*+Remove Before Race for gt it needs to be bigger, like a RS6 coupe, or A8 coupe, this is still a sports car somewhat*
Remove Before Race Nope it doesnt work for me.. Love the AWD but the looks suck imo not worth the $..
RS has given up in the battle vs M and AMG. SAD but true.
I appreciate the review, probably the best review of the new RS5, keep it up! Regarding the other comments, I think people have to start understanding that Audi is not a one-person company. Couldn’t agree more, great all round car, RS5 👌🏽👌🏽
Sound doesn’t mean anything when you smoking the c63 amgs and m4 at a stop light haha
Couldn't say better. I hope you are enjoying one RS5 now. Cheers.
@@MasterEggroll you never drove m , rs or amg cars in your life otherwise you wouldn’t say that.
At last a sensible car reviewer for grown ups, and not more puerile chatter from the latest crop of car 'experts'! Thank you, thank you and thank you again.

Thought I was watching the NBA back in the 90's for a sec there during the intro lmao
Only 2 weeks to wait for mine now 😁👍
Great choice, hope you got nardo grey 💪🏽 ignore the negatrons whinging about the sound it’s a great great car
@Auto blipper "Shitty interior" Get the fuck out fool. Even this guy said the interior is class leading.
Great review. This is my first time watching your videos and I'm sure I will be back to watch more 👍
Ollie Meaton Thanks Ollie!!
Have seen a few of your videos now. I thought it was about time to thank you and let you know I appreciate all the content.
Thanks.
Chris.
Second Chance Really really appreciate it Chris!
I think Audi has hit its target of being more of a GT. the rest of the car has improved other than the engine really and truly
Rather would have seen a 5 cylinder, half the engine of an r8 v10.
Great review/impressions, as expected. Was excited for this car. Shame about the lack of exhaust note but hoping the companies mentioned, along with AWE, can work their magic
Sickset C43 We hope so too!

Anderson C As in the video, faded or numb is correct!
Hey Mister, you mentioned the really tough butch guy with a squeaky voice..... was it Mike Tyson or Daniel Dubois you were talking about? No matter... I know what you mean. I would have an RS5 on my wish list any day. Good video.

Haha thanks sir!
Very intelligent reviews. Thank you again from America

Havent watch 30s of this video yet but Rbr×Rs5*(b9)×14m=Like in my books.
Best review of this car on the web
Hi Raz,

I would like to ask your opinion on which car is it better to choose between these two? I do really like both of them and not sure for which one to go. What is your suggestion? Thanks
top vid buddy! how much better/faster is this new RS5 than the new face lift RS3
Testing the RS3 soon!
that will be good to see!

The best color I’ve seen on this car thus far.
Calm car guy is refreshing
I really hate that fart sound between gear changes
kakka626 Yes can see why 😅
I thought I was the only who hates that fart sound, since quite a lot of people like it. It farts, it is terrible and embarrassing. A good sound should sound like this here: ruclips.net/video/rM6zh3Nmm5s/видео.html

I also just like the sound of gear being changed without explosion sounds
khvidtube1617 I've got a Subaru and can't agree with you more. The fart noises are terrible, they everywhere around me in the stupid GTIs
just a good solid accurate review. Well done.
Serious question : why do you not have a million subs yet? Your content level is way above youtube standards!
Too kind sir! Chasing quality, first and foremost!
Good review. I just found your channel randomly and instantly fell in love. Haha. Subscribed. Thanks.
happy Thanks so much sir! 😃
I have a 2014 S5,biggest complaint is the sunroof. Did they fix it in the new gen?
Just out here waiting for the project one
Again another good video mate I wish money was no object lol
Hi! Very good review!! Between the old RS5 and the new one, which one has the best exterior design? Thank you
Thanks really subjective, but we love the new one!
All these 2016-18 turbo cars sound similar. Crazy how direct injected turbo cars all sound the exact same
What song was that you were playing at the opening credits????
Oh and I subscribed in the 1st 10 secs of watching it. Good job 💪💪💪
Thanks so much sir! Check the credits, it's called Game Time!
Does this particular car equipped with Audi sport exhaust ? Or the stock exhaust
Another good vid. Please review Audi's new RS3 sportback....
Barry Morkan Thanks! RS3 Saloon soon!
How does the RS5’s 2.9 twin turbo compare to the 00-22 B5 S4/RS4’s twin turbo 2.7 twin turbo?!
😂😂😂 ❤️ your conclusion @13:20
drawdy trick 😂👍🏼
Still have my 2011 Audi RS5. It's unbeatable.
I'm not too concerned about loud sound. I'm more into flying under the radar. Don't need any more attention. This and an APR tune, and I'm good.
Really great review.
stubones Thank you!!
Doesn't the sports exhaust have a dual flap system? So when you put the car in Dynamic, the valves open and it gets louder? Im pretty sure it does...
It does, and the car is in Dynamic throughout most of the video.
I thought stock exhaust will also open the valves when the car in dynamic
Id really like to know the brand of the watch you're wearing pls
This is the best 2017 RS5 review I've seen.
goldenkoi23 THANK YOU!!
I like it,too.

ShortFatandStumpy FAT so what if they are faster and more powerful?
The merc has an ugly rear..the bmw has very bad interior
I thought the summary was childish and unnecessary and not representative of the rest of the review.
ShortFatandStumpy FAT history

I Love The Interior.
The NBA ON NBC WHEN THE SHOW COMES ON
The should make an RS5+, to fix all the "gt cruiser" mess ups.
What the name of the song used at the very start? The instrumentals? I know the song but completely forgot the name! :(
Call me old fashion!,.. but!, I still prefer the analog gauges than the all digital-screen-simulator. Soon all cars will have those digital flat screen leaving us with a nostalgic feeling.
Subscribed to your channel, please do drag race against Rs6 Avant vs new Mercedes e63s wagon, thanks
another great video, well done ! I'd take the C63s or M4 any days over the RS5 ... truly gutted to see the same powertrain going into the upcoming RS4 :(
jez zza v8>v6>I6.
We are kind of sad too
Latvietis96 yes if they make cars that hydrolock quickly ;)
Latvietis96 both of these engines performances is the same but V6 sounds better. That's why V6>i6
Another killer video buddy! I'm really not sold on this RS product. Also don't think Audi's virtual cockpit is the future, a good HUD makes loads more sense in reality. Absolutely love the Summary hahaha
It is the future... thats why everyone copied them and now has their own version. I dont want anything on my windshield
Joe Achilles
Found the mercedes fanboy

Wow: beautiful car... Well done Audi, once again
The guy you described at the end is David Beckham. Lol
So this car is like David Beckham.
Review the New 2018 RS4...Looks Sooooo good 😚😉
The problem with this RS5 is that it's not qualified to wear the badge.
It's too heavy to be competitive with BMW and MB offers and cost too much to be justified.
Dear Raz, how many watches you own?
Nice vids -> I concur... its all about the button ( the exhaust open or closed ) :-)
I heard there are new restrictions for exhaust volumes. So car manufacturers have to abide by these regulations when designing a NEW car. I guess this will happen with the upcoming M4, C63,... as well. LET’S HOPE NOT!
I'm an Audi fan I like the features and what not but ima stick with the rs5 2015
Could you do a review of the new RS3 and RS4
Put simply. I WANT ONE, SANTA!
Can't stand the fart noises between gears, sound terrible. Where I live there are golf GTI's everywhere making that stupid noise
Glen Gibson Fuck you
Fuck you too
@@Glen-89 fuck off
Gear changes makes flatulant noises. What's going on? :P
Haruchio Pagani it’s called a car queef
Lol. That fart noise on gear change. I’ll stick with my RS5 V8 thanks.
Nice video though mate.
What do we think of Audi's exhaust fart?
I hope the new R8 steering wheel finds its way in other Audi cars.
I own one of the last real RS5s you could order. I would never buy that new vacuum cleaner. Boring as hell. Next car will be an AMG. GT63 or S63 Coupé.

I’m actually very impressed with the Audi RS3! The power their making with that 5 cylinder is amazing and it sounds awesome
S5 is truly better
There's no way i would spend all that just to hear a car fart constantly loool
We want that V8 screaming on that robust looking RS5. RS5 was the best Audi for me, this new is far away even from the RS3
Beautiful car !
Nice video! This RS5 is good car but Bmw forever!!
No dual clutch, no 8250 red line, no sweet sounding V8, no thanks.
But, it does weigh less and has more torque. But, I'll keep my 2013 RS5, thank you!
You need to get behind the wheel of a Giulia QF
randombloke10 happening soon!!
I absolutely love Audis to death but I'd rather have an RS3 saloon for 15k cheaper and get some upgrades. That 5 cylinder is a mean sounding engine
Interior is ok, screen stuck at that dash is crap, it looks like its should hide but it doesn't, and the sound is dull
I love the sound but. I’m sure with a much better performance exhaust system ie, miltek. It’ll get rid of that Fart at the top end.
fix the brightness setting of the interior shots the glare is killing my eyes.
My new 2018 S5 sounds better than the RS5. How is that possible?
An interestingly balanced perspective, tainted by the unnecessary and childish summary at the end, which was just - really weird. It seemed crowbarred in there.
Chiro Videos TV sorry you didn't like that part! Genuinely seems appropriate to most of us 😆
They made the front look more round or something and it doesn’t look as good anymore.
This is almost certainly the engine variant that will be used in the new S7, hope it sounds better than this. I've driven this car, it's crazy fast but the sound sucks.
