Would love to see a more in depth video on the differences between the Newport 2+ vs Newport+ as you mentioned in the previous video there is definitely a difference in the feel, weighting, sweet spot and flow not just round vs sharp lines in terms of shape.
Kevin, Thanks for watching and comment! The real key here is to get it in YOUR hands. As I mentioned, people can go with or against the physics of a club. It’s important that you know what the effect is on you. Just know, there is a difference and they are going to produce different results. Was there anything specific that made you want to see or hear more? What happens when you try the different models?
Those are so close, you’d have to tell in the mid to long range putt. Usually the short to mid range is really tough. For many, it comes Dow to looks. I think there is a slight performance difference, but it is really nuanced.
I picked up the Newport (+) plus with round bumpers.. I didn't think there would be that much difference between the standard version and the +. I wanted a putter with a traditional open and closure, but not so much that I'm pushing and pulling 3-4 footers, nor something that was face balanced. This fit the bill. On the (+) you can feel that the weight is pushed to the ends of the putter where the traditional version, in comparison, feels "core-centric"; a bit like riding a unicycle vs a 2-wheel bicycle (the + being the bicycle)
Thanks for watching and commenting. The feel you described is pretty spot on. The stability is definitely noticeable. I guess Scotty made a nice subtle change that more can appreciate.
Hey Jeff, Thanks for watching and commenting. I’ve hit one. I like the idea. I hit a broomstick though. They’re option with the slant neck looked most appealing to me!

Hey Willis, Thanks for watching and commenting! The pills show you release of the club. Like a driver, the putter can produce a draw or a fade for a golfer. The goal, with the right putter, is to have the pills travel independently down the line without interrupting one another. If they knock each other around, out of line, or knock each other over, you are not in the right putter. Hope this helps!
Have you caught on to Scotty's plan to eliminate "Blades"? This started with the Special Selects 3 years ago when Scotty took the 40 grams from the Middle and behind the Face of all the Newport Varieties and transferred this Mass to the Toe and Heel with the new + 20 grams Weights. In the latest release the Newport 2.5 is no more, only offered now in the 2.5 +. Welcome to the Scotty Cameron "Mini-Mallets" with their Higher MOI.
Thanks for watching and commenting. There definitely seems to be a pattern of softening the blade “effect”. The phantom line did this on the opposite side, a mallet look, with a blade performance and now the super select line offering blade look with a mallet performance. You are correct in the assumption. Many companies are following suit as a response to the tour players needs.
Landon thanks for watching and commenting. Greens where I am break a lot. You really only need a straight putt from around the 6ft mark and in. The rest, go eau-natural!

@@golfcoachpaul you did a good job explaining the feel and how the Newport's face feels less stabilized than the + model. Thanks!
I’m having a hard time decide with the super Newport 1 and Newport 2. They both feel great. I wasn’t able to try out a plus at my store

Just got a Newport 2+. Always played a regular Newport 2. I like it so far, but definitely different
Thanks for the comment and watching. Agree, the + is so different! I actually prefer it.
Great video - looking forward to see the Newport 2 vs Newport 2.5+ - thanks!
The new video is up! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching and commenting
Have you tried the makefield putters, with different weight ports? Thought on it?

@@golfcoachpaul how does it take right hand out of stroke? Usually right hand dominant putting stroke leads to pushes??

So it is better to get the plus?
Have to try, can’t say better without a proper test.
Thanks for video Paul!
Hey what do the pills do, what are you trying to find out with that drill? Thanks
