TaylorMade Mini-Driver review (compared to TSi 3 13.5)
That god set. I hit some 350s the other day and felt the best of all! Forgiving I’m guessing. As a lefty it’s hard to find anything 😭
What loft lie tool is this?
The greater the distance for shaft bend to club face , the greater to turn off set regardless of face type.
You over educated golfer, same rule applies to blades. It's geometry if shaft to putter face
I agree. I worked with Marius filmalter and his son here in dallas and captured a good deal of touring pros strokes on the SAM system & all the best putters, the toe passes the heal thru impact.
Marius is a friend. Him and chief are good guys to talk golf with! Small world! Thanks for watching and commenting
How annoying is that guy ugh
James Martin, thanks for watching and commenting. I’m sure you had something that made you watch, any useful info there?
The ventus shafts broke the bank
all i want to know which one i easiest picking up your golf ball with ?
The one with the suction cup on the grip?
That makes so much sense. I had an Odessey face balance putter, and I putted okay; I would miss putts (left, right) I shouldn't have. I bought a TM spider GT with some toe hang and I've never putted better. My lag putting is awesome. Correct me if I'm wrong. To have a true straight back straight through swing; one would have to lift the club head up on the takeaway. You would have to take it away with your right palm facing down or have your elbow fly out like a chicken wing. It may not feel like you're swinging on an arch, but you are. Thanks for having the guts to make this video.
Terry, thanks for watching and commenting. Your thoughts are pretty spot on. Glad to see you found success with that small change! Differing opinions can get pretty cantankerous
I feel like you are pushing the 24 more than the other. But just my opinion you putted better the 22 from your review here.
Anthony, thanks for watching and commenting. They were close, but ultimately, the smaller footprint was way more pleasing to the eye! I don’t care about new vs old, so much as easier to perform with.
What grip are you using?
Those were stock
I've used a rossie for a long long time have bought other putters not face balanced and hate them i seem to go back to what rollers tru for me. John ryham uses a rossie also just saying
Thanks for watching and commenting. Gotta use what works. John Rham uses the slant neck version of that model…
On eBay next month?
@louispounds7486 not a chance!! Thanks for watching and commenting 🤣
@ 😎
I've got the 2022 7.5 and really like it, even more than the 24.
Personally I like everything about the previous model much better.. the clean straight top line was way better
Why do you prefer the slant neck putter ?
Thanks for watching and commenting. First is the offset, the plumbers neck leaves the face too far behind the shaft and I can’t hit the line.
@@golfcoachpaul thank you sir. Love these fine videos. Keep up the great work 🏌️♂️😊
What’s the point of the pill if you can’t make a real ball
Thanks for watching and commenting. The point is to reveal the swing fault and improve. Just trying to get better every day.
If someone doesn’t even have a decent/consistent stroking technique, they won’t really get any benefit from putter fittings.
Great comparison video, thanks for taking the time to do this. Love the Pills drill!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching and commenting. What was the most helpful part for you?
Those look amazing
I played the M. Just put the T grind 58. I like it a lot! Toe down heel up very vertical like a putter the club goes through tough around the greens. Cuts like buttah
This is completely wrong. He’s hitting poorly because he has a natural “arc” to his putt. People who putt with a near zero arc and straight through are the people who use face balance putters. Face balance golfers are more consistent and toe hang golfers are those that are more off center strikers.👍🏻⛳️🤷🏼♂️
A ball in fancy packaging
Ridiculously over priced.
That’s a great shaft. Is that standard?
Standard length, yes. A little softer tip, easier to hit draws…for me
@@golfcoachpaul that’s my gamer as well. I liked it so much that I put it on my 16.5° 3HL. I need to get another one soon for a mini driver I just picked up.
The difference is too small to make a difference. It’s more psychological.
Damm less complaining please
Thanks for watching and commenting. What were the complaints that stood out to you?
Those gfores are 🔥 Great vid
Thanks for watching and comment. What did you find most informative?
Dude sucks at putting 😂
Not gonna lie all titleist drivers look the same
Thanks for watching and commenting. Some perform better than others!
@@Dustin031 I’m a Callaway guy, but I love the look of Titleist drivers. Very classy and clean looking.
@@andrewgerred I just bought a M1 2016 for $175 with Aldila 110 rogue x stiff and it’s way better than any driver I’ve tested. Absolutely amazing driver
@@Dustin031 That’s funny, my brother tried the Rogue and the Ai Smoke and still goes back to his Epic. Great clubs never go out of style.
@@andrewgerred yep I tired the ai smoke and the g430. The old m1 feels and sounds better.
Why are they still using Velcro on their covers
I think because over time strong magnets rip the lining, but I agree. Love the magnetic
@@golfcoachpaul over time? Like 20 years? Lol
Where was this fitting at?
Hi Zac, thanks for watching and commenting. We were at gray rock in Austin.
thank you. I love honest opinions like yours. I had a feeling that face balanced is just a marketing gimmick before.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Remember, the key here, and what I am really advocating for is to get fit! Glad you enjoyed!
Outstanding! Wow
Also, are you in the Austin area? How can I sign up for a lesson?
Jeff, Thanks for watching and commenting! What did you find the most helpful?
I am Jeff, email me thegolfcoachpaul@gmail.com
Nice bag!! I have a U-505 4 iron, T200 5 & 6 iron, AP3 7-9, and a T150 P & G wedge. It's such a great setup. I only got the T150 stock wedges cuz I rely so heavily on my AP3's to hit the green, but they all blend perfectly together and they're all great clubs
Keven, Thanks for watching and commenting. Sounds like you’ve got a really interesting bag set up as well! I think that is a really interesting set up you’ve got.
@@golfcoachpaul thank you! I had a bunch of clubs stolen earlier in the year when I left my bag at the range and walked to the proshop. So instead of just buying more ap3's I got a a split of T200's and T150's and then a Utility iron to match. It was originally just gunna get the T200's but I fell in love with them both and it turned out to be an overall great combo set
This dude is way to hyper.
Thanks for watching and commenting…you gotta love what you do!
☠️ 01:36 ☠️
Why did you bang them when you measured them ? at $450 you treat them better
Your slow motion literally shows you that you are starting with an open face. Face balanced putters and mallets are for pendulum straight back putting… Telling people it’s not going to be effective because you don’t do it is dumb.
What determines if you need more forward bounce versus rearward bounce? Steeper needs more forward? The forward is better on full shots? Thanks!
Hi Joe, thanks for watching and the question! The forwards bounce is the entrance to the turf, the rear is the exit from the turf. For sand shots, the trailing edge and sole width will determine the depth of the divot. If you can’t test outdoors, try an open face off a firm carpet, usually on the side of a simulator or indoor bay. If you can get the ball midway up the screen on a 20-30yd type swing, then that can fit your game.
22 is my favorite, that bigger head just does it for me
Enrique, I am deducing? Thanks for watching and commenting. It’s a big enough difference between them that they could be two different putters. I love the smaller almost “mini” new head.
Good content. Interesting how often the putter used second wins.... just like driver comparison tests etc
Thanks for watching and commenting. I do have to say, I was really thinking about the 22, but that smaller head and no sightline got me. You typically give the existing one the first test in these. In my Titleist GT driver fitting video, the first driver pretty much is what I wind up with. Definitely not done intentionally. What were you hoping to see in the results of the video?
@@golfcoachpaul sorry, wasn't being negative. I appreciate its difficult to test everything. Its always easier to sink the second putt after having seen the line and pace. Perhaps for the longer putts, hit 3 balls with one putter from a spot and then move to a completely different spot for the next 3 balls with the other putter ? Could be a little more representative
Velcro…… ewwwwwwwwwewwww #Odessey
Thanks for watching and commenting. a Magnetized headcover would be amazing! Who wouldn't love that?!
@@golfcoachpaul You said it!
L Grind is Better than T for a "steeper" Player's or if you tend to be More Out to In (cutty). Shallower Delivery and/or more of an In to Out (draw) Delivery. "L" is for "Leftie", BV's custom Grind for Phil Mickelson, back when Phil was still affiliated with Titleist. T Grind is very close to a 'low Bounce' M Grind, with D Grind being a 'high Bounce' M.
Had a Pro Plat for several years and decided to make a change. I went to the store and putted for 90 minutes and came away with the Squareback - felt the weight distribution was better for me and i actually liked the weight and feel. Getting different weights to see a diff, but my last two rounds i putted so much better. Different “strokes” for different folks!
That squareback will give you more stability for sure. That’s the design, the look of a Newport 2 but with less rotation. The heavier weights should be a big help too!
Was between the Betti queen bee 6 and Scotty Newport. Bought the bettinardi and immediately went to my home course putting area and hated it. Swapped it for the Cameron and shot a 76, 76, and 78 all due to chipping and putting. Was playing a ping anser for the last 12 years so the Scotty wasn’t a drastic shift just the same putter but way sexier and so much better. 😁😁😁
Cuts through the grass. You can open it up without the leading edge hovering over the tight lies. So sharp
Great video, I had a feeling they were composite
Any sort of info on a mini driver for the new line since we saw a tour prototype beings used by a few pros the last few months?
Thanks for watching and commenting. The 2W is Not for public consumption, but the new GT3 will probably end that conversation for many, it made a huuuge difference for me. I will talk about it in my next video.
Wasn't interested at first announcement, now interested in a fitting to see how competes with my TSR 2
@@golfcoachpaul Thanks for the reply. You mean the GT3 driver? I was personally interested in a mini driver myself to replace the 3 wood spot. So it would work as a second draw biased, slightly shorter and more accurate driver. 3 wood is only used of the tee anyways. Although maybe the new GT2 13.5 degree wood would serve that purpose?
@@freddym6643 the gt2 13.5 is going in my bag. It is fantastic! You’ll see my fitting video
