I’ve noticed despite having good crisp lens, your face looks kinda soft and slightly diffused, not sharpened. Is it some kind of diffusion filter in addition to ND? Or some slight gaussian in post?
I'm with you for everything except for recommending the Zoom H4n. That thing deserves a dishonorable mention - it's outdated. Think about how long it takes to boot up, format the sd card, how quickly it eats AA batteries. I used it for years thinking it was still good enough until by chance I was on a shoot where the sound guy had the Tascam X8, a 32bit float recorder (nothing pops, you can raise the volume without raising the sound floor immediately, so no hissing), I can control the menu system from my iPhone and the batteries last a lot longer. The X6 is a bit cheaper and gets the job done just as well. You make great videos and I really don't want to come across as throwing shade. Just the Zoom H4n ... well, friends don't let friends suffer from the poor user experience that thing offers.
Good point for sure, I just haven’t used it so I didn’t wanna recommend something I haven’t used! But I’ve heard a ton about those so may have to upgrade
I upgraded my H4n to a Zoom F6 and I'm probably taking it to the grave with me. 6 XLR channels of 32bit float and its a pretty compact size. The Bluetooth dongle should have been built in but most of the time I don't even use it.
To be honest, this is the perfect minimal setup. You have another video on your channel that’s titled something like, “Minimal Light Setup” and a lot of viewers found it to be very complex. This, on the other hand, is perfect! I would retitle these two videos because a lot of people will find this more minimal setup very useful like I did!
Great stuff like always! I often forget that I use an APS-C sensor and try to figure out why my 35mm is so damn close until I realize it's because it's equivalent to about 50mm and that's why my kamera is on the other side of my room haha.
This is amazing, even though I can't afford most of this yet, (I'm just from looking at the prices, that's how I know), this really helped me understand what to focus on.
Thanks for the great video! I'm trying to decide between the Amaran 60D, which is a bit cheaper, and the 60X that you show here. I'm a video journalist doing a lot of run-and-gun interviews and want to improve my lighting. What do you think about the 60D and using a CTO gel when needed?
Great video, great nails 👌🏼 Let me add this: If you want to spend less and get 95% the same quality as Brady: Trade the FX3 for the FX30 - basically the same camera with a smaller sensor, with the right lens, it won't make a difference, speaking of that... Trade the Sony 20mm f1.4 for the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 - On the FX30's smaller sensor, it'll have the same field of view and similar blurry background... For the VND ditch the great but expensive NISI True color and go with the great and cheap Haids CPL-VND, you'll get the same quality plus a CPL filter.

You are doing well as we say in Nigeria, I have successfully learnt a lot from you that’s has improved my work across all boards

Brady would you be so kind as to list off the extra attachments you have on your lens please?

If you were starting to build your lighting arsenal now. Would you certainly go amaran/aputure?
the budget standing desk would be the one from amazon which is just the part that goes up not the whole desk for like 100 buxks or so
