    I just bought one myself. Keep in mind, that altough motherboard 12v headers ar GRB, some other RGB controllers, that are meant for RGB stripes, ar BRG. So you might also need to flip B and G cables also. Still a great piece of tech, so i dont have to throw way my old Farbwerk Controller.

    Can you expand a bit where you said if you wanted to have more than just a static color and take advantage of ARGB you'd have to buy a separate controller? What's the minimalist way to be able to use all of ARGB capabilities with only a RGB header?

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 года назад

      The minimalist way (or rather the only way) would be a separate ARGB controller. Unfortunately the standard RGB header (12V GRB) can only carry information for a single static color at once, so ARGB effects, that require more than one color at once, are simply not possible.
      So the only way to enjoy real ARGB without an appropriate header is to get a dedicated ARGB controller.

      Yes, you can use hubs or splitters with this adapter. Just make sure the pinout fits.

    Hi - when using this device - The cable connecting this to the SATA cable was overheating? Why is that and is there any quick fix?

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 года назад +1

      I'd definitely contact Deepcool. It could be a defective cable or converter if you can exclude any external heat sources.

    Sir. I have a gigabyte ga-ab350m gaming 3(no rgb headers) but it has 4 pin (hybrid fan headers) and I bought a AIO that needs 3pin 5v. question is can i use this item to controll the rgb of my pump?

      Unfortunately not, you will need a RGB controller instead.

      Something like this should work fine: www.amazon.com/dp/B07JZCNPNV/
      Make sure to check the pinout of your AIO's ARGB header - you might need an adapter, if it's e.g. from Deepcool or has any other unusual pinout.

    Great video! But I have one question. I have a lian li lancool 2 case and it has an argb front panel connector. My mother board does not have an argb header so where on the converter would I plug this front panel argb connector?

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 года назад +1

      As stated in the case's manual the plug has a "+5V, D, GND" pinout. So it plugs into the top left port, as you can see at 3:05.
