Thank you for this, I have a very niche setup I'm building which involves an Aquacomputer Farbwerk RGB controller which only has 12v outputs. I've ordered one of these and I'm just praying it will work properly
The price difference for each... Deepcool Alternative is like 16.99 and the EZDIY is 22..99 seems like a no brainer to me... and I have the 5 fan EZDIY setup which won't work on my older Asrock Z270 motherboard RGB control because it has 12v 4pin.. and the 5 fans are all only usable on the hub they are proprietary plugs.. but you can't beat the price and quality of them 5 fans and hub and remote for 34.00
Great video. Everything was explained very well. This helped me to figure out what I needed to turn on the converter without pressing its buttons. I took my case's reset cable (which used to be plugged into my motherboard) and connected it to the converter's two pin connector. I can now press the reset button after turning on the system to get the RGB going. Haven't figured out how to do it automatically yet but it's not a big deal.
I have a question, would I be able to connect a fan hub that comes with my argb fans to this converter and thru the hubs controller use all the available argb effects on the controller? please lmk!
I have issue with this Converter, when I boot my pc or waken up from sleep, it wont turn lights on, any fix? I have to manually press button to turn it on.
can i use this converter for the lian li uni fans ? i have the lian li controller to use the L-Connect software would i be able to use the L connect software if i buy this converter ?
This video kind of saved me from shitty Gigabyte. I connected everything fine and no lights when booting up :( Am i missing a step? Did you have to do anything in Bios? Do you have to do anything in icue?
I bought the Deepcool RGB Convertor 2 days ago. After I finished with the connections, I noticed a flickering on front fan. I have Coolermaster Masterfan series. I contacted Bangood for refund & Deepcool to inform them about the issue. This a part of their reply: " According to your description, we are afraid it is compatible issue, because manufacturers of some motherboard update the chipset of lumination , RGB convertor can not be compatible with all motherboard well. so We are afraid the RGB convertor would not be working well with your motherboard. "
Hello mate, I have a asus tuf motherboard which only has 4 pin rgb headers. Do you thing I can use this or the the deep cool converter to connect the lian li strimers cables rgb feature which is a 3 pin to my 4 pin using these converters? Thanks in advance.

Can you use this converter for a 4pin motherboard and 3pin fan, bcs my motherboard is 4 pin but my fans r 3pin. Is this a good product? Or do i need to search for another converter?
Thanks! That's pretty much what I do. Usually I do the filming and scripting somewhat parallel, then record the voiceover and cut the video to the voiceover.
Great review. I bought one of these recently. It has some cool effects but every time I retsart my PC, effects are reset to case's own controller. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way
@@techlessYT Just turning off. I tried turn on/off, hibernate and sleep - all reset the lights. Only restart seems to be fine because restarting PC does not turn off lights.

If this is not correct please tell me but I've tried to connect using a 4 pin dual pin header and it does not seem to work.
Hello is it possible to connect liam strimer plus to this and then to a asus motherboard (to the 12v pins)... i want to sync the liam strimer... but they are only 5v and asus aura/icue only supports 12v
at 2:51 you mention a dedicated ARGB controller. any recommendations? i haven't seen any real controllers that don't use proprietary connectors. edit: i mean a controller i can adjust through software, through a usb connection.
The only controller that I am aware of that connects via USB and doesn't use fancy connecters is the Asus Aura Terminal. It's pretty expensive (it can also do that Ambilght kind of stuff though). But it's probably more expensive than upgrading to an ARGB compatible motherboard.
@@techlessYT i just found an insane deal, zalman ZM-LF120 triple pack, including the controller, for 48€ on caseking. As far as i know the z-sync controller is controlled through usb and the rgb connectors are standard 3pin 5v. I wanted 3 fans anyway and the controller is basically free in this pack.
@@techlessYT i used it for a bit now. the controller is seriously held back by its software and as far as i can tell there is no SDK available. the fans perform great so far, but i was afraid i'm gonna snap the mounting studs off when installing them.
So regarding the 4 pin gigabyte extension, which 4 pins do we connect to? which one to leave out? do we still connect from 12V to B and just leave out W?
Looking to connect 2 x argb fans and 1x rgb fan and 2 rgb led strips all from deepcool to one controller on Asrock AB350M Pro 4. Heard deepcool don't work with asrock motherboards. Did you get any issues?
I haven't tested the converter with an ASRock motherboard, but there's no reason it shouldn't work. The RGB headers follow the same standard as with other manufacturers.
I have two argb fans, can the two be connected on the Deepcool converter at the same time? If not, what can I do? Is any splitter compatible with the Deepcool converter?
You can connect multiple ARGB devices to a single header, but you will need a splitter or hub. A regular ARGB splitter does the job. The EZDIY converter already has one included.
It won't do anything for you if you don't have 12V RGB headers on your motherboard. Well, unless you plan to use it purely as an RGB controller, but there are other devices that can do that better.
@@techlessYT what would you reccomend to me i stupidly got a mobo w no led header and am trying to find an alternartive to get my rgb working wat can i do
Just get an RGB controller with the right pin out for your fans. The EZDIY device is a two in one device with a converter and controller build into it.
Hi. I also bought that gaming board. It’s supposed to be a higher end board it cost me over 100 bucks. Shocking there’s no 5v RGB headers. I will buy a deep cool or Phanteks universal controller. Merry Christmas.
Absolutely I have it and you just hold down the m button and it syncs. Control it with mystic light 3. Dragon Center is pretty bad and can mess up your games so use just mystic light.
OH one thing I am not happy with , with this EZDIY hub is that it has a spot on the hub for 2 LED strips.. well I have a buttload of LED strips laying around 4 pin and they WON"T FIT in the hub,, so I'm guessing again you will be FORCED to buying their light strips .. which to me is BS and I won't do it.. this setup will hold me for awhile until I find a better solution .. So I won't waste my money on a converter I'll just wait and get the right one.. :) this is just my experience so far .. I am still happy with the quality of the fans and the noise level of 5 fans is very low..
selling motherboards without an ARGB header should be a sin.
