      Not really, they didn’t flush the system so they just filled the hot water heater with carbon. I think they only read some of the instructions, ignored the rest. I not sure why they talk trash about this system. I have had one for skin conditions family members have and I never had a leak in the 8 years and my water is much cleaner than my neighbors. Plus, my humidifier filter no longer has hard water build up. These guys are okay and entertaining but not sure about this install.

    I just had my second unit installed by a professional. The first unit was on my first house and it ran great for 13 years. No leaks. This second unit was the basic model with bypass kit. So pre-filter, main unit, post filter. That's it. They included a spigot valve between the main unit and post filter. No clue why. I flushed the main unit outside with my garden hose for 15 min. The plumber I hired put it on anyway. Well after one single day after install, the spot where the spigot valve screws into cracked and water was shooting everywhere. Thought the plumber might have screwed the valve in too tight but I could unscrew it by hand so it wasn't really tight at all. Thank god I had the bypass kit (which costs extra) added in or I would have no water right now. Currently in contact with Aquasana to get me a replacement piece. Not sure if I can replace it myself or if I have to call the plumbers back out again.

    @walterbordett2023 3 года назад

    You need isolation valves at the filter sides of the tees into and out of the filter chain inside of the bypass loop. Without them you cannot work on the system while the house gets water from the bypass loop. So normal operation would be with bypass valve closed and the inlet and outlet isolation valves open. In service mode, open the bypass valve and close the inlet and outlet valves. Now you can break apart the filter system for service or repair while the house has unfiltered water supply. Manufacturer's recommended plan omits this standard feature.

    Copper on the uv sanitizer is good but you want to have a bend or about 18” of the copper before going to PEX to prevent uv light that will travel through the water and damage the uv sensitive PEX over time. 1” corrugated copper or stainless steel work good for this application.

    Why the negative title?
    First, the positive: Thank you for making this video. I enjoyed it and found in informative.
    Now the critique: I install Aquasana and other brand filters for a living. Aquasana's products are fantastic. I don't understand why you are putting out negativity about their products simply because the install didn't go as smoothly as you hoped. Am I missing something?
    Why would you title this video like that, saying this system is a POS and telling people not to buy it, then put an affiliate link to try to sell it? Do you recommend it or not?
    You don't like the brackets and the minimalist instructions, and the plastic unions (which last for years, leak free, if installed correctly), and you don't like the lack of parts provided in the pro-install kit to connect the post-filter to the UV filter, and you think pex looks ugly, so that's your rationale for the negative title of this video?
    People in this market don't care about ease of install (well, some do) as much as whether the system does its job or not.
    Aquasana's products do their job.
    They do a great job cleaning water. Your dissatisfaction with brackets and minimalistic instructions has nothing to do with whether a system is a POS or not.
    It's your channel. You can do what you want, but your title is misleading people away from great products simply because the install process was not as straight forward as another brand, in your opinion.
    That said, I'm sure you are a nice dude and this is not meant to be a personal attack, and your video is very informative. I just don't know how you justify the title of this video and am foolishly hoping you will change the title, because this system is the opposite of a POS, and people should buy it, IF their square footage is a good match for the particular configuration in this video. If not, there are other configurations of Aquasana products that work great with most any square footage.
    Rant over.
